“Rizzo had a better vacation than we did staying with Lindsey! She had so much fun playing at the farm running around with Genny and getting lots of exercise! Lindsey provided daily updates with photo’s throughout the week showing how much fun they were having. Rizzo can’t wait for her next vacation with Lindsey and her family!”

“Kona had a great stay at Shannon and David’s! They were welcoming and warm which made Kona very comfortable. Pictures were so cute. He loved the long walks too! We were able to have a great weekend in Ellicottville with no worries. I highly recommend them and would absolutely have Kona stay on our next visit!”

“Our dog, Millie, seemed like she had a great time with Megan and her kids! Megan was friendly and very communicative the whole time. We received lots of picture, video, and text updates. We would definitely use her again!”

“Mary is fantastic she always sends pictures of our little fur babies playing or when they are lounging around. She is very good with our girls and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter and staying at your house. We feel safe leaving knowing that everything is in great hands.”

“Brittany was wonderful! She took excellent care of our dog and made sure she got a nice walk and plenty of attention. Our dog was very happy and well cared for. We would definitely recommend Brittany and will happily have her watch our dog again! 🐾❤️”

“We were thrilled with the care my new puppies received. We received photos every day and looked forward to seeing how they were doing . I found that the dogs were given a lot of one on one time and socializing. We will definitely book again and nice to know so close to us. This was our first time using rover . Thankyou to both of you for providing such great care.”

About: I’ve been caring for my own dog, Layla, since she was 3 months old and she’s now 9 years old. Being a dog dad has taught me patience, consistency, and how important routines, attention, and trust are for pets. I understand that every dog has their own personality and comfort level, and I care for each pet like they’re part of the family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, companionship, or keeping up with routines, my goal is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because caring for our own dog has already been part of our lifestyle for years. I work outside the home but have flexibility to take breaks and come home throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins. I understand every pet has their own routine and energy level, and I do my best to keep them comfortable, active, and cared for while you’re away. Creating a safe, comfortable, and trustworthy environment is very important to us. I've had my dog Layla since she was 3 months old and she’s now 9, so I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone who treats them like family. I follow each pet parent’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, routines, medications (if applicable), and preferred care styles. I offer boarding in our spacious two-bedroom apartment with access to nice grassy areas nearby for walks, potty breaks, and outdoor time. Small dogs are welcome on the furniture if that’s part of their normal routine and helps them feel more comfortable and at home. I also have our friendly dog Layla, who is already used to sharing her space and being around other pets, helping create a welcoming and pet-friendly environment. Our goal is to make every fur baby feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.
“Jenn took care of my 9 yr. old chihuahua Saturday-Sunday. We did a meet and greet at Jenn’s house the Wednesday before. I liked her right away and I could tell she loves animals. This is the first time leaving my pup overnight at someone else’s house. Jenn did an awesome job of taking care of Mia! She also sent me updates of photos and texts. I will definitely be using her again. I highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life. I’m known as the “animal whisperer”. All animals seem to love me, and everyone can see that. I do this as my actual job, so I’ll be home all day with your pets. I will treat them as if they’re my own animals. They’ll get some one on one time, long walks, play time, cuddle time, snacks (like peanut butter), and so much more. People call my home the “pet’s paradise”.
“Jessica is the absolute best!! I was nervous about my dog getting along with her dog but we took it slow and they ended up being so good together. Jessica sent me pictures and updates while she had my dog and took such great care of her. I will most definitely trust Jessica with my dog every time I need a sitter, she’s FANTASTIC!!”

“This is my second time using rover and find it a little scary how my ludo will react to being in a different household with other dogs and cats. Miranda was very reassuring and sent me more than enough pictures of how well ludo was doing when getting comfortable in a new environment. I highly rec booking with Miranda as she is a great care taker! Could not be happier that ludo was watched with such care!”

“Guy was wonderful in taking special care of our elderly dog Oli. We would recommend Guy for dog care, he was very tentative to Oli’s special needs. Guy kept us updated on how Oli was doing and even sent a picture. Thanks again for taking care of him while we were on vacation! Lorraine and Rich”

About: Hi there! My name is Kayla and I have been a dog lover since I got my first dog at 7 years old. I grew up with a Golden Retriever (Jeter), when he passed I was devastated, but knew I could not live without a dog in my life. I got a mini golden doodle (Rylee) who is currently 4 years old. I also ended up adopting a heeler/dachshund mix (Mavis) who is 7 months old. I have experience working with all different sized animals of all ages. I took care of my senior dog, assisting him with a broken leg and have experience with puppies and training. Pets are family and I know how important it is to find a caring and loving individual to be with your pet, let me be that person for you! I am currently a school counselor with many days off during the summer and breaks. I am able to board your furry friend on weekends and during days off! I am available every day for dog walks after 3:30pm. With my love for animals, I will ensure endless cuddles and playtime for your pet. I live on 3 acres of land with enough space for your pet to run and play. Right up the road is my mother’s house who lives on 60 acres of land and a pond if your dog likes to swim where I can take them to anytime! If your dog is crate training or trained, I would love to set that up for you.
About: Pets are in integral part of our family. I enjoy the fun they bring to the home and wouldn't trade their company for the world. I can care for diabetic and asthmatic animals. What does your pet need? I am happy to accommodate. I work occasionally this summer but virtually. I have time to walk the dog and also have a wonderful fenced in yard. I have a lot of free time to dedicate to animals. I make sure the dog feels at home. I used the fenced in yard so that they have enough space to play. I go on a couple of walks a day.
“Lynn was FANTASTIC with Sawyer! Her home is definitely dog friendly and loving. Big backyard with a doggie door and always someone there to keep my furbaby company. She was awesome and understanding with my short notice request and sent pictures showing how happy Sawyer was. I will definitely use her again! (if she is available) I think I found myself a new dogsitter and I’m sure Sawyer is very happy with that too!! A+++”

About: Growing up we always had multiple pets and u currently own a feline best friend named Carlos! I am more than comfortable performing any sort of dog care! I am happy to accommodate any sort of service for your dog. Just give me the details upon booking and I will ensure your animals are cared for!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Chaffee home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Chaffee.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Chaffee sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
