Rachel is amazing. She went above and beyond to help me in a bind and she was able to adjust seamlessly to what was needed to keep my cats safe and happy. Rachel really has a great feel with animals. Her communication was impeccable and I will definitely be rebooking her for my future catsitting needs.

Fawn is by far the best house and dog sitter we’ve ever had! We highly recommend her services and will absolutely be using her again and again. Our boys adored her, and we loved the updates and pictures she sent throughout the day. Thank you again, Fawn, for taking such great care of our pups and our home!

Sara was absolutely amazing. We suddenly needed her in a pinch after one of our dogs picked up kennel cough and couldn’t be boarded over Labor Day weekend. She came over for a meet and greet right away and I felt super comfortable with her knowledge of dogs and secure about letting her into my home while we were gone. Over the week we were away she spent lot of time playing, cuddling, and spoiling my doggies and sent us a ton of photos and detailed updates. 100% would use her again and highly recommend her to anyone.

We hired Nancy to watch our 10 year old lab, Molly. Nancy is friendly and met with us twice before we left to make sure she knew Molly’s routine. We were gone for 10 days. We received daily updates and pictures of Molly’s adventures while going on walks. Nancy genuinely cares for your pet. We feel so blessed to have found Nancy on Rover.com. Everything was left in order when she finished the job. We appreciate her love for our Molly girl. Thanks so much, Nancy, for taking such good care of Molly. We will use Nancy’s services whenever possible for our getaways.

Thanks, Sidney, the dogs and cat got lots of outside time (dogs) and inside time too, and except for the terrier chewing the hardware off his wooden gate, everything looked good when we got home. We switched gates around and he will have one of the metal pet gates now... (it was only a matter of time before that occurred to him to do; hopefully soon he'll be grown up enough to have the run of the house at all times.) We appreciate your care for the pets and it's great that even the cat appears to have decided you are his new best friend. We hope to have you back to watch them for future trips.

I frequently visit Tolmie State Park, where dogs can enjoy wooded trails, new scents, and beachside walks. Whether your pup loves exploring, playing, or simply getting extra attention, I'll provide personalized care and regular updates so you can feel confident while you're away. My availability is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM and again from 5:00 PM–12:00 AM. Weekend availability varies, so please feel free to reach out with your requested dates and times. I do my best to accommodate flexible scheduling whenever possible. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, I treat every animal like a member of my own family. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, playtime, medications, and any special care instructions. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, small reptiles and pet birds. I understand that every animal has its own personality, needs, and comfort level, and I take the time to build trust with each pet. For dogs, I provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection through walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. For cats, I focus on maintaining a calm environment while providing companionship, play, and routine care. For birds, I ensure fresh food and water, clean living spaces, enrichment, and safe, attentive handling when appropriate. About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my deep commitment to providing not only reliable care but also compassionate attention to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I approach every animal with patience, respect, and genuine understanding, ensuring that they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I have extensive experience working with both puppies and senior pets, understanding the special requirements of each stage of life. When caring for puppies, I focus on maintaining consistency in their training, reinforcing positive behaviors, and providing the socialization and playtime that is essential for their development. For senior pets, I am attentive to their comfort and health, administering any necessary medications, supporting mobility, and creating a calm environment tailored to their pace. In addition to my hands-on experience, I pride myself on clear and professional communication with pet owners. I provide detailed updates, photos, and observations to give you peace of mind that your beloved pet is being cared for with the highest level of attentiveness and respect. Above all, my goal is to ensure that each pet feels genuinely cared for, and that each owner feels confident their companion is in trustworthy, compassionate hands. Pet care fits into my routine as a flexible part-time focus. I schedule visits around other sitting jobs and prioritize consistency and reliability for each client. I don’t have a car, so I accept bookings within a manageable distance. Pet care is an integral component of my daily and weekly routine, and I approach it with a sense of responsibility, consistency, and attentiveness to the well-being of my animals. On a daily basis, I follow a structured schedule that includes feeding at set times, ensuring they receive adequate hydration, and conducting quick health checks to observe any changes in their behavior, appetite, or physical condition. Morning and evening walks or play sessions are carefully incorporated to provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation, which are essential for maintaining their overall health and happiness. I offer in-home sitting and dog walking, caring for pets in their familiar environment. I follow each client’s routine closely—feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific care needs

About: As an experienced dog sitter, I go beyond basic care by truly understanding each dog’s unique personality and needs. I have a natural ability to read their body language and adapt to their moods, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and secure while you’re away. Whether it’s administering medications, following specific dietary plans, or providing enriching playtime and walks, I tailor my approach to each dog’s routine. My calm and attentive demeanor helps even the most anxious dogs feel at ease, and I maintain clear communication with pet owners for peace of mind. Having cared for my own senior Pomeranian, Zeus, until he was 14, I am particularly attuned to the special needs of older dogs, including administering medications and adjusting routines for their comfort. I currently have an year and a half year old Yellow Labrador Retriever named cooper, so well experienced with puppies I’m currently home full-time, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pets lots of attention throughout the day. Whether your dog needs frequent potty breaks, long walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication, or just extra cuddles and companionship, I’m able to be there consistently. I love getting outside for walks and making sure dogs stay mentally and physically happy while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every animal like they’re my own and take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs. I’m experienced with dogs of different ages, energy levels, and temperaments, including senior dogs and puppies. I always keep a close eye during walks, potty breaks, feeding, and playtime to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment.

FAQs for House Sitting - Yelm

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Yelm on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,768 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Yelm. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yelm walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yelm maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yelm choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yelm. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
