“I’m always nervous to leave my dog with someone new but they were great to work with, communicative and always answered any questions I had about how Abbey was doing. They have a lovely home with a sunroom and amazing backyard perfect for curious doggos wanting to stare at birds and chipmunks all day. Thank you for looking over my fur baby!”

“Chris and Gerry are so nice, loving, and kind. My girls felt at ease while staying with them. It helps that they only take one client at a time. If you are looking for someone to love your babies like their own, look no further. Definitely book with Chris and Gerry!”

About: Hi, I’m Suzie! I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies and energetic younger dogs to sweet seniors. I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s individual personality, routine, energy level, and needs. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment with plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and rest. I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom to a wonderful 2.5-year-old toddler and a friendly standard-size labradoodle, so pets are naturally a big part of my daily life. Being home most of the day allows me to provide plenty of attention, supervision, and care for your pet. Our home is filled with activity, play, and love—perfect for pets who enjoy company and a family setting. I work pet care into my daily routine by: • Frequent Potty Breaks & Playtime: Since I’m home, I can let dogs out often and provide outdoor time in my spacious (unfenced) backyard with close supervision. • Walks: I enjoy taking my dog on walks, and I’m happy to bring your pup along for fresh air and exercise. • Indoor Play & Enrichment: Toys, games, and interactive activities are part of our daily routine, keeping pets entertained and engaged. • Naptime & Relaxation: There’s also plenty of quiet time for rest and cuddles—especially during my toddler’s nap time. • Flexible Schedule: My flexible routine allows me to adapt to your pet’s specific needs, whether that means extra outdoor time, medication, or simply extra love and attention. Pets become part of our little family while they’re here, and I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for throughout their stay! Pet Care Approach: Caring for pets is my passion, and their safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home , I strive to create a loving, attentive, and stress-free environment tailored to each pet’s unique needs. In My Home: I live in a single-family house with a spacious backyard (not fenced), offering plenty of space for supervised outdoor play and exercise. Since the yard is not fenced, all outdoor time is closely monitored to ensure your pet’s safety. Leash walks are also available for added security. Indoors, pets will have a cozy and clean environment where they can relax and feel at home.

“Ashoka and his son gave my dog a loving home. I asked them 6day boarding for My dog at Christmas holiday. She spent happy time with them. I strongly recommended them.”

About: I’ve mainly taken care of my own, and close family cats and dogs, but in the recent year or two I’ve helped my friend who uses rover walk dogs. I currently have full availability, which allows me to accommodate last-minute bookings, recurring schedules, weekends, holidays, and extended stays. I'm flexible, dependable, and committed to providing reliable, attentive care whenever your pet needs me. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment and maintain a calm, secure environment. My sister has a cat who is not comfortable around unfamiliar cats, so I am unable to host cats in my home. However, I am happy to provide care for dogs or care for cats in their own homes, where they can stay comfortable in a familiar environment. I will always follow your pet's routine, provide regular updates, and treat them with the same care and respect I would give my own.
“Nancy took excellent care of our dog, Benny! She took him on lots of walks and gave us updates throughout his stay. We would highly recommend Nancy to anyone needing care for a pet.”

“Jill is our go-to dog sitter. Every time we drop our pup off with Jill it is as if we are leaving them with a trusted family member. We never worry about our pup while gone because Jill is great at sending regular updates and notifying us if anything seems suspicious. I can’t say enough good things about Jill and the ginormous heart she has for animals. Thank you again, Jill!”

“Alexander was great and took care of my dog Jethro that can be a pain in the butt. He is super high energy, but Alexander was able to make him comfortable and at the same time communicated well with me about everything that was going on. I was worried for him to be watched by somebody else, other than members of my family, but Alexander did a good job and I would rebook with him again in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m Willa I’m a 29 year old living in downtown Frederick. Professionally, I am a licensed social worker. I had a dog from age 7 until he died when I was 22. I haven’t been able to get a new pet due to costs, but I love taking care of my friends dogs when they are on vacation so I decided to sign up here to make some money doing it. I can only board small to medium dogs due to the size of my apartment. I have a bed, food bowls, toys and treats but I do not have a crate. I’m responsible and respectful of other people’s homes. I can travel up to 15 miles to drop in on your pet before work, during my lunch break if needed, and in the afternoon/evening. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, various medical needs, and I have no problem cleaning up messes!
“Min & Matthew were great! My pup has some anxiety problems. They were very patient with her and were able to settle her down without using the medication I sent just in case she needed it. I loved all the pictures and videos. They gave our dog lots of love and snuggles. Will absolutely will be using them again in the future.”

About: I have experience caring for pets and understand how important it is to provide them with patience, attention, and consistency. I’m comfortable caring for cats with different personalities and needs, including feeding, providing fresh water, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, enrichment, and giving them plenty of attention. I know that every pet has their own routine and comfort level, so I take the time to learn what works best for each animal. I’m responsible, attentive, and careful about following their owner’s instructions so they can feel safe and comfortable while their family is away. My goal is to make every pet feel cared for and give their owners peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in good hands. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to plan my day around the pets I’m caring for and make sure they receive the attention, exercise, meals, and care they need. I’m comfortable adjusting my schedule to accommodate feeding times, litter box care, medications if needed, playtime, and regular check-ins. I enjoy having pets as part of my day, so I’m happy to spend time with them beyond just the basic responsibilities. Whether your cat wants to play, cuddle, explore, or simply have someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated throughout the day with photos and messages so you know how things are going. I believe pets deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I create a calm environment by following each pet’s routine and their owner’s specific instructions closely. I’m attentive to things like doors, gates, food, medications, household hazards, and anything else that could affect their safety. I also take the time to let pets get comfortable with me at their own pace. I never want a pet to feel pressured or overwhelmed. I’ll provide plenty of patience, supervision, affection, and reassurance while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. Communication is also important to me. I’ll keep pet parents updated with messages and photos so they know their pet is safe, happy, and being treated with the same care I would want for my own.
“Alex was AMAZING! First, I contacted him on short notice because my dog sitter had a medical emergency. He responded quickly to all my questions, and eased my nerves during drop off. Second, he did great with both my dog babies despite their personality differences. My Kobe is a puppy and super hyper. She can be a lot for some people but Alex was great with her from the second she met him. My Harry is an older dog and likes to be cuddled and one on one loving. Harry is a dog who loves people and doesn’t really like to mingle with other dogs. Alex met the needs of both. Third, the communication was great. My dog babies were with Alex for a week and he sent me periodic updates throughout the week. I appreciated the information and pictures he shared with me. In summary, this experience was amazing. I did not worry about my dog babies at all and would highly recommend Alex to anyone who is looking for quality care. Alex will be our go to sitter when my family and I go out of town without our dog babies.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Yellow Springs
Emily was the best dog sitter we have ever had. Our Cavalier, Mia, is a little shy, but Emily and her daughter made Mia feel right at home. They gave Mia tons of attention and affection and sent us many photos and updates. We highly recommend Emily, and we will definitely use her again.

Elaine did some a wonderful job with my pup! She kept him so well cared for and stayed in touch with me to ease my worries on the first day I left him with her. She made him right at home and when I picked him up he was peaceful and happy, which is quite a big deal for my anxious pup! I had a great experience with her all around and highly recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Yellow Springs home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Yellow Springs.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Yellow Springs sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
