About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. Ever since I was a kid it’s been a goal of mine to help and care for any animal in need. I’ve been taking care of my friends/family’s furry babies since I was 15. I can guarantee you that your furry friends will be safe with me! Pet care fits into my routine because I have an open schedule. I do have a job but I’ll make sure to tend to your pet as much as possible. I will make sure to make your pet as comfortable as possible and build a bond with them. I will care for them however I’m instructed to as well as keep your house just as you left it.
“Sarah is really friendly and responsive. She communicated while I was away and was able to treat my cats with the medicine regiment they needed. One of our cats absolutely adored Sarah every time she visited. Definitely recommend.”

“Did an excellent job watching my puppy while I was gone and making sure he ate on time. Very respectful and suggested a meet and greet prior to watching him. Thank you Stephanie!”

About: I've had pets my entire life of all types including dogs, cats, and other small animals! I had a cat for 17 years who lived the most luxurious and spoiled life a cat could want, and currently have a little voidling boy with plans to eventually adopt more! I regularly walk and groom dogs at the shelter, I volunteer at the Yakima Humane society and plan to start vet tech school next fall. I work from home as a freelance editor so I can work on my laptop anywhere. I have the ability to work around your busy schedule with ease. During the fall quarter I will be taking a single morning class so I will continue to be available at almost any time you need! I will always heed to the knowledge and advice you have about your own pets needs and combine it with my own expereince as a lifetime pet owner and volunteer. Be it an energetic lovebug that needs extra attention or a senior pet that has special needs, I am capable and happy to care for your pet as if they were my own.

About: My neighbors trust me to take care of their furry friends when needed. I’ve since moved away for college and hope to meet more pet parents through Rover! I have a full-time job (can WFH) with a flexible lunch break, so I can take care of your pet throughout the day! I enjoy hiking, and if your dog enjoys the exercise I would appreciate the company. 😆 I’m also studying for the MCAT, so I’d love to have a study buddy. Due to a recent move, I no longer have the capacity to board in my home. However, I’m more than happy to house sit and take care of your pets overnight!

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I understand how important patience, consistency, and trust are when caring for pets. As a stay-at-home wife and dog mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention, care, and consistency throughout the day. I’ll care for your pets in the comfort of their own home by sticking to their routine, giving them plenty of attention, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away.
About: I've taken care of the family dogs for as long as I've been conscious enough to and have further sat for family friends and other relatives. I have trained my own puppy (he's almost 3 now), have some experience with administering medication (oral and topical), and have looked after senior dogs in various stages of their old age. I have owned and cared for dogs of various sizes from tiny chihuahuas to larger than average rottweiler mixes and handled many different temperaments. I currently do not have a job, so I am able to spend as long as necessary with your pet. I am free all day on most weekends for things like check ins or walks, but on weekdays I can only do boarding or daycare (as I also lack a car). I have a fully fenced in yard and two friendly (medium to large) dogs to play with (my poodle and my father's Rottweiler). I also have access to a kennel/crate if needed, but my sister's dog broke it, so it's more for dogs that are already crate trained and won't avidly try to get out or dogs that don't need fully kenneled and just need their own space.
“Second time hiring her. She was able to accommodate extra visits on short notice and a day early, since one kitty got sick right before my trip. She got all the kitties to warm at least a little to her, including the scaredy cat. Would hire a third time.”

About: I've taken care of many types of animals all throughout my childhood and as an adult I've volunteered with rescue animals for 2 years. I would frequently train, feed, walk and bathe animals. As well as provide support for many of my rescues with fostering and providing a positive environment. I work full time overnights Saturday-Tuesday but on my days off I stay home the whole day so I have plenty of time to care for pets. I have a fenced front yard. 1 cat and 1 dog to keep your animals company. Both are well behaved and get along great with other animals!
“Brittani is the best!! She was so thorough and loving with our two cats and immediately put us at ease. She seriously takes the best pictures ever. Definitely book with Brittani!”

About: We have owned fur babies for the last 25 years, from dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, goats, as well as pet hamsters and rats. We've had the privilege of taking care of our cats and dogs almost 25 years. We have had them from puppyhood and kittenhood to their geriatric years (two dogs to age 16!). Currently we have three yellow labs; two that we adopted from my parents when they passed, they are, 4,4, and 9 years old. We have always had our dogs trained with the basic obedience commands and we only use encouraging words and actions to help them learn. Many of our animals were rescue pups. We also have dog friendly indoor/outdoor cats. I work part time at home as well as on call work when I am available. I am an early riser and can work as early as 5:30am and as late as 8pm. We offer in home care, to include drop off, doggy day care and pet sitting for dogs and cats. I would also be open to short term pet care in a clients home and I am especially interested in dog walking as well as field trips trail or park walking, and dog parks for dogs that enjoy it. I am also able to provide transportation to vet appointments.
“Shelly was extremely attentive and timely when caring for my baby. She maintained excellent communication and provided me with updates on how my cat was doing. I highly recommend her!”

About: My name is Charizma Williams. I’ve pet-sitted for my sister’s friend and with my best friend on and off for 3 years. I grew up helping take care of farm animals, cats, and dogs. I love taking care of animals. I’ll treat them like my very own. Your fur babies will be in good hands. I’ll make sure to send you lots of updates on how they’re doing!! I’m unemployed looking for my first job, so I’ll have plenty of time to take care of your fur babies, play with them and meet all of their needs. I make sure to take care of them with lots of love, gentleness, and kindness. If needed, I can crate them, and if they have any specific requirements, I’ll make sure those are met.
“Taya did a wonderful job checking in on my senior cat while I was on vacation. I do not use Rover often and still find it a little strange, but felt very comfortable with Taya after our first meet. She kept me updated and sent pictures. My cat was happy, fed, and had a clean litter box when I got home. Definitely recommend!”

“Brittni was an amazing sitter for my kitty! She’s super responsive, a good communicator, thoughtful, punctual, and really sweet with pets. Luna seemed to warm up to her right away! I’d highly recommend Brittni as a pet sitter and will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Soba had some really challenging behaviors this week, but Carol continued to be supportive and communicative throughout the whole process. She gave us helpful suggestions on how to help improve Soba’s challenging behavior and treated him with love and care.”
“Sydney is awesome! She was able to watch our pets last minute! She made sure to give them enough time and attention and provided pictures every time she visited them. I would recommend her to anyone needing pet sitting!”

“Kristina D. did a wonderful job. She sent me photos of all of my kitties every day. Two of three were her friends. My fraidy cat even peaked out at her. Felt very safe and confident with her taking care of my fur babies. Would highly recommend her and will be using her again when needed.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Yakima
Sara did amazing! This was our first time with a pet sitter and she was so helpful with a walkthrough/meeting the babies before we left for our trip. I was able to relax a lot more knowing our kitties were getting some love and care while we were away. Thank you Sara!

Peggy was a joy to work with. She made sure my 2 boys were well taken care of while we were all out of town. I came home to 2 very happy cats. My Yuki really liked her and he usually doesn't like anyone. My LilBits even let her get a photo of him to send to me and he usually hides from everyone. I am very happy that Peggy was there for us.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yakima. On Rover:

- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
