“Paula is amazing! She loved my pets like her own. She sent so many photos and we could see how happy they were. She even helped me out with a couple emergency house issues going above and beyond our expectations. We were thrilled with Paula and will definitely use her services again and again. Highly, highly recommend! Thanks Paula!”

“Fantastic! We have two senior dogs (14 and 13) with special needs. One of them can't use his back legs, has bathroom accidents and is deaf. The other is losing his vision, has some leg weakness and is high anxiety. She visited beforehand and asked great questions. We were away for a week. Both dogs were comfortable and happy with Vicki. She was communicative and sent pictures with updates. We returned home to peaceful pets and the house as clean as when we left. I think the doggies were looking for Vicki when we got home. :) It was a blessing to be able to know they were in good hands while we were away for camping time as a family.”

“Yeni was absolutely great! She watched our pups, Izzie and Georgie, for the night while we attended a wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier. She took wonderful care of them and left the house exactly the way we left it. We highly recommend her and would absolutely trust her with our pups again!”

“Sahari made us feel so comfortable in leaving our two dogs and home in her care. She was extremely thorough in asking questions about them and their different and specific needs. Our sheepdog is often very wary with new people and he took to Sahari right away. She handled the high energy and special medical needs of our other dog with compassion, kind boundaries and competent care. She went the extra mile in applying eye medications for our dog several times a day, keeping our home clean and gave us updates throughout her stay. We highly recommend her!”

“That’s such a sweet detail — here’s the updated review with that added in: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She was absolutely wonderful with Ozzie, Molly, and Pita. Her calm, low-key energy was just what they needed. When I got home, everyone was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. She even took the time to run water for Pita, which he loves. It was such a thoughtful touch! It gave me real peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and caring hands. I’ll definitely be using her again.”

About: I have an extensive history in pet care, training and love! Since childhood i have volunteered at many shelters and cared for pets of all sizes and species for my friends and family! I’m currently working part time as a fitness instructor in the hudson valley area. My job is flexible and gives me plenty of time to care for your furry fam! I am very respectful of the rules and habits of your animals and I will take notes to ensure your pets get the best care they can!
About: I have been taking care of animals for as long I could remember. Growing up I always had pets that I’ve cared for and learned from then on about feeding my pets to taking them for a walk so doctors visits etc. I’ve had a lot of pets growing up ranging from rabbits to guinea pigs, dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, ferret, turtle. All were very well cared for and very loved. I love being around animals and being able to help out people who are working long hours and need some extra help with caring for their loved fur baby. I’m very familiar with dog and cat sitting for other people and taking dogs on walks. I usually go to other people’s houses to care for the animals because I find it easier for the owner. I’ll always make sure your fur babies are happy and active by going on walks or even playing ball around the yard.
“Lexi watched my three pets, including an older special needs cat. Her communication was wonderful - great question, photos and updates, and just a cheerful confidence that helped me feel very comfortable leaving them in her care. They and the house were in great shape when I returned and I could tell the cats and dog were well cared for. Thank you so much!”

About: Originally from upstate NY, I spent time working as a professional veterinary assistant in Atlanta, GA while in school. In this role, I worked directly under a veterinarian to monitor, clean, and provide medical check-ups for dogs at local pet centers, while also providing care for other animals at a boarding and daycare resort. With this hands-on experience, I am deeply familiar with dog health, sanitization, and administering medications. I enjoy spending time with dogs, understand how to spot early signs of illness, and know how to keep dogs on a fun and healthy routine. Since moving back to upstate NY, I do part-time work as a tech consultant from home. This allows me to give plenty of attention to your pet, while also providing plenty of outdoor activities. My wife also works from home, which allows her the flexibility to help as well. Our house is situated right next to the D&H Canal trail, and we take regular walks on a daily basis.Whether your dog is a growing puppy who needs attentive care or an older dog who requires a reliable, experienced handler, my top priority is maintaining their health, safety, and happiness while you are away. My wife and I both work part-time from home, which gives us highly flexible schedules to prioritize your pet's care throughout the week. Our daily routine naturally includes multiple walks along the scenic D&H Canal trail, which directly borders our property. Because our work keeps us at home, guest pets enjoy consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of playful companionship. Our home sits far back from the road at the end of a long driveway, offering a very quiet, safe environment. We sit on 10 acres of land, featuring 3 groomed acres for supervised play and 7 acres of private woods. While our yard is only partially fenced, we have two large, fully enclosed decks that are completely fenced in—perfect for safe sunbathing, lounging, and secure outdoor activities. We also utilize a collapsible fence that we can pull out and set up to create customized secure boundaries if necessary. For exercise, dogs are strictly supervised and kept on-leash as we head down the driveway to our private access point for the D&H Canal trail, keeping them completely away from traffic.
“Tessa took care of two cats and two dogs. One of the cats required a pill every day and one of the dogs needed pills as well. One of the dogs was a senior and needed help with stairs. Tessa did a fantastic job with all of it. I have no fence so she had the added job of leashing and walking the dogs numerous times a day. I would not hesitate to employ and recommend her.”

“No worries your dog is with a superstar! He was accommodating and loving towards our very senior Maltese and he also took time to reach out and update. Hes great with my lab too!!! He is fantastic! Highly would recommend and rebook. Very caring individual”

About: My experience includes my own dog of 14 (and current) years, owning exotic pets, going to a trade school for animal science, graduated from community college and planning to go to vet school in the next 2 years. Ive worked at animal hospitals and humane society’s Im currently a working college student who has some free time and would like to make a little extra cash to save for vet school I take my dog on (almost) daily 30 minute walks, including an hour and 1/2 one, once a week. Since I have some extra time i’d love helping other pups get their outside time too

About: I have experience with many different dog breeds with different energy and health needs. I give all of the animals under my care the same treatment. I would take care of a super senior cat with the same dedication I would a golden retriever puppy. I'm not squeamish at all either, I'm comfortable dealing with body fluids and administering injection and medications. I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters so i've seen it all! Currently, my only commitments are helping to babysit younger family members, which is flexible schedule and only part-time. I have lots of time to not only take care of your animals, but also play with them and give them good entertainment My own dog is a runner, so I am hypervigilant about making sure animals don't dart out doors. I always make sure I physically see the animal and watch them to make sure they look healthy and happy, I don't just leave food and water and go home. I'm more than happy to give daily updates on animals i'm watching there are owners out of town and take pictures
“Grateful to Elisha for a long stretch watching our very sensitive Cavalier. When we arrived home, Millie seemed calm, healthy and well cared for. While we were away, Elisha shared picks of Millie and stayed on top of her daily routine. It takes the stress away when you have someone who is reliable and conscientious. Will definitely book Elisha again.”

“Our fur family was in great hands with Abbey. Everyone had their walks, meals, and cuddles on time, and we got lots of photos which made us relax while were away. Thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wurtsboro Hills
I feel I hit the jackpot when I trusted Eric with dog sitting my Yellow Labrador, Maisie! Eric is knowledgeable and responsible, as he is an experienced dog owner. At the same time, he is very kind and caring and goes above and beyond with making your pet feel comfortable and secure. No problem with letting Maisie take over his couch! Eric provides you with daily reports, pictures, videos and whatever else you may need for reassurance that your pet is in good hands. I have no doubt anyone would be pleased with the care Eric provides for whatever service you are seeking. His genuine TLC and love for pets makes Eric an excellent choice and you won't be disappointed. Maisie and I couldn't be happier. (I should clarify that I used the dog sitting service, not the house sitting service.)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wurtsboro Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wurtsboro Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wurtsboro Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wurtsboro Hills. On Rover:

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
