“Valerie is the only rover sitter I've ever worked with and honestly I never want to switch to a new person. She is FANTASTIC! So patient with my very nervous pup and gives her love like she is her own. I wish I could give 10 stars!”

“My pups are so happy whenever Samantha visits them!! She gives them special treatment from her heart ❤️ I'm so happy to have found her to care for my fur babies when I need to be away from them!!!”

“Sarah is an amazing sitter. She always takes such good care of our cats while we are out of town, even our special needs cat who needs daily medication. Highly recommend her.”

“Leslie did a wonderful job checking in on our Golden! I appreciate her thoroughness in setting up a meet and greet beforehand, and she had great communication about her visit. We look forward to booking with her again in the future!”

“Anhelika is amazing! She came for a meet and greet, and I knew immediately she was the person we would pick to welcome into our home. She is personable, reliable, and soooo good with dogs. On our trip she sent me countless photos of our dogs. It is so wonderful to know we have her around to help out if needed. Our dogs simply love her!”

“Lauren did an amazing job taking care of my two cat. In the pictures she sent the cats were happy and well taken care of. Thank you Lauren. She is a fantastic sitter.”

“Hillary was super amazing with our cat. She was very dependable and flexible with us in scheduling and our cat came out for cuddles with every visit which is rare for her. I'm so happy to have found her and will look forward to using her services again in the future.”

“This is the first time I used Rover and I’m impressed. We only needed a drop in for Lucy and Ginger, but Justine did a great job, especially dealing with an over exuberant 4 month old puppy that’s not quite potty trained and an older dog that does not warm up immediately to new people.”

“Devon came to our apartment last minute to help with the animals when I had to take my daughter to a doctors appointment. He is such a lifesaver and always tries to accommodate my schedule and helping us out!”

“Misty did a great job of taking care of our two kitties! Reliable and communicative, she was able to cater to both their personalities to make sure everyone was comfortable! She was even able to make our shy cat warm up to play time. Would be happy to use her again :)”

About: I have raised my own dog since she was ten weeks old, mentored by my father who has raised three litters of puppies throughout his life. I have also done pet-sitting for friends and family for dogs as small as beagle puppies to as large as a Labrador. I am a Graduate student, but I manage to take six- mile walks every morning year-round. As my classes are in the evening, I can fit dog-walking into my schedule in the mornings and early afternoons. I am attentive and responsible for my pets needs, and take pride in ensuring that the animals I care for are happy and healthy. I have a nine-year-old mixed breed dog who enjoys her daily walks and sunbathing on the deck, but does not enjoy the company of other dogs very much.
“Per usual, Sara was wonderful and very communicative while dropping in on our 3 cats for a couple of days. We know the house and animals are always in great hands with her!”

“We had a great experience! She stopped by twice to let our dogs out while we were away and was reliable, communicative, and very caring with them. It gave us peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Shelby was fantastic. It was a pleasure to meet her briefly ahead of the planned visits. She took time to connect with the pups so she wouldn’t be “stranger danger” to them, asked about likes and quirks, and from the pics, they had a blast with her. Super communicative and we had a great, worry-free time knowing they were in her care. Thanks, Shelby! We’ll be booking again!”

“Sophia provided great communication while caring for our two cats. The shyer of the two was even sitting on her lap by the third day. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Maegan was fantastic! She showed up on time, everytime which is far different than sitters we have had previously. She was great with our dogs and they seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed her visits! Strongly recommend her!”

“Ellie is fantastic ! She is beyond patient with our shy cat and completely understanding of her boundaries. Ellie is one of the only sitters we trust to take care of Obi.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Woodridge
This was my first time using Rover for pet care so I was nervous. I met Misty before engaging her to check on my two needy cats. She was great and immediately put my mind at ease. She kept me in the loop while I was away and I ended up asking her to do an extra visit so I didn't have to rush home. A+++

We recently booked Mikayla to care for our two cats while we were away, and she did a fantastic job. One of our cats is very social and easygoing, while the other is much more anxious and cautious with new people, so I’m always nervous leaving them with someone new. Mikayla handled both of them so thoughtfully and professionally. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly paid attention to the details of their care. We came home to two happy and well cared for cats, which is honestly the best feeling after traveling. I also really appreciated the updates and photos while we were away. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring cat sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodridge. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
