About: I take care of many types of pets, from reptiles to exotics, as well as the common family members like dogs and cats! I love all creatures big and small. I work with reptiles during the day, but I would love to work with your furry family members too! My schedule is open almost every weekend and nights after 3:30 PM! I care for pets like they’re my own! I have my own snake, cat, and insects, and grew up with dogs. Because of this, I know how to learn an animal’s quirks and work with them to make sure they’re as safe and comfortable as can be.
“Erica is absolutely amazing! She took care of my fur babies, Milo and Pickle Boy, and went completely above and beyond. She always arrived right on time, took them for great walks, gave them extra snuggles, and even surprised them with treats and pup cups! She is incredibly responsible and always made sure the doors were locked securely behind her. She kept me updated every single day with pictures, letting me know exactly what they ate and what they did in the yard. She even cleaned up any messes they made. Erica is the absolute perfect choice for your dogs—I will definitely be hiring her again!”

About: I've grown up having dogs all my life and have dog sat and cat sat for neighbors and family since I was in high school. I am very active and love walking dogs! I am a current grad student and have a mostly flexible schedule. I am available on weekends and in the evenings to check in on or walk your pets! I am not currently looking to have a dog stay in my apartment as I am not able to have a dog at my apartment complex
About: Hi! I’ve been pet-sitting since I was 15 and caring for family pets since I was little. I’ve always loved giving special attention to pets and getting to know their personalities. My family dog is in his senior years and we’ve taken great care of his specific needs, always making sure he’s not in pain and receives the love he deserves. I’ve been around animals of all sizes. I'm a dependable and caring animal lover. While I'm new to Rover, I've spent years around pets and understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog. I'm active, attentive, and committed to making sure every walk is safe, fun, and tailored to your dog's needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, or a slower pace, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention and care. I believe pet parents should feel at ease about how their pets are being taken care of. Regular updates, photos, and communication are an essential part of pet care. I understand that every pet is part of the family, and I'll treat your pet with the same care and respect I would give my own. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your furry friend! I’m currently working part-time and I have a loose routine which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your furry family members! It’s important for me to keep to the schedules and familiarity of a pets’ routine and make a visit as stress free as possible. Being aware of surroundings on walks and ensuring safety for a pet is a top priority, which builds their trust and leads to more enjoyable play time. Paying attention their behavior and small signs of discomfort reassures owners that I care for their animals in the same way they would.
“Carsyn has such a heart for animals. From the moment I met her I knew she would treat my baby boy with the same love and care I do. My puppy took right to her. I can say she is a blessing as I dont just trust anyone with my boy.”

About: Hi there! Thanks for considering me to take care of your pet. I have a very flexible schedule so can accommodate most requests. I am not offering in home sitting but can take care of pups overnight in my home as I have a fenced in yard, crate and a very friendly Aussie doodle. I grew up on a farm surrounded by cats, dogs, chickens, goats and guinea hens. I learned from a young age how to take care of animals. We had 9 family dogs over my lifetime and probably 30+ cats (indoor and outdoor). I have taken personal responsibility to feed/ walk and take care of our animals and I’ve house sat and watched pet for others over the years as well. I understand that I am taking care of a member of your family and I will always treat them with the love and care that they need. I have worked as a volunteer at an animal shelter so I have experience working with animals that have experienced trauma, neglect, and abuse. I love to get pets outside as much as I can on walks or to play if this is an option for your pet. I am new to Rover and would be happy to give you more personal references if needed.

Depending on the service, activities may include going on walks, spending quality time together, and making sure they get plenty of attention and exercise. About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! I’ve grown up with — and cared for — pets of all shapes and sizes, from dogs and cats to fish, birds, horses, rodents, and even reptiles. No matter who your furry (or scaly!) family member is, I’m excited to give them the same love and attention I give my own. Pet care is already a natural part of my day. I take care of my cat every morning and evening—making sure she has fresh water, the right amount of food, a clean litter box, and plenty of playtime. Since I’m already in a daily rhythm of caring for pets, adding walks or drop-ins fits easily and naturally into my routine. At home, my kitten is always the first one to greet me at the door, so I make sure she gets attention and reassurance right away. I keep her routine consistent—fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and lots of playtime and affection. When caring for a client’s pets, I’m very mindful of their established routines. I follow feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions exactly as given. I want every pet to feel comfortable and secure, so I do my best to maintain the rhythm they’re used to. Whether it’s my home or yours, my priority is making sure pets feel safe, understood, and well cared for.

I was very grateful to Serenity and Daniel for being available to look after Spud at short notice. My cat can be a little shy at first, but he came out to say Hi to Serenity. I felt that he was happy with her and that put my mind completely at ease. Serenity followed all my instructions and sent me photos of Spud. I would definitely use her again in the future, and I can highly recommend her to anyone else who is seeking care for their cat.

Emily was absolutely wonderful with Koda! She came to my home for drop-in visits and took such great care of him while I was away. She was reliable, attentive, and kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing Koda was in good hands. She made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for during every visit. I highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable sitter!

Abigail was so wonderful with my cat. I am a first time cat mom. This was also my first time leaving my baby for a period of time. Abigail put my worries at ease. She gave me updates, and my baby looked very happy. She will be my first choice next time I need a sitter.

Eleni was amazing for us this week! We’ve never left our three dogs for this long and ended up having a few curveballs, but she graciously handled a dog in heat and a few days of unexpected diarrhea. She went above and beyond and kept us updated every step of the way. We would absolutely use her again in a heartbeat.

Celeste is wonderful! Communicative, prompt & exactly what I was looking for. She helped with the Rover ins and outs as it's been years since I've had a dog and needed to use it. She was super accommodating to my last minute booking and sends pictures at every visit. Couldn't be happier!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
