“I am very happy with Abigail’s attention to detail and all the pictures of her visits. She took my dog on some wonderful walks and was fantastic about communication. I will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Mia was extremely thoughtful, thorough, and caring towards my golden and provided updates and cute photos. It was great to have an update while I was away, especially with a first time visit. He was so happy in the pictures too! I would highly recommend and look forward to hiring her for more visits!”

“Emily was amazing! This was my first time using Rover and I was a little nervous to leave my cat with a stranger. But Emily was super communicative and friendly. Sent me photos and updates of how my cat was doing. I’ll happily see if she’s available for the next time I need someone to watch Finnick!!”

“Tiffany was so incredible and attentive in her care of my outdoor animals while I was away. The peace of mind she provided was priceless. I am so grateful to have met her.”

“Madison is superb. She’s incredibly responsive and responsible. We were nervous about leaving our pups behind and concerned we might have trouble finding someone brave AND loving enough to care for the bully breed. Madison didn’t flinch and our dogs took to her immediately. She is professional, kind, punctual, caring, and will even send photos, which is incredibly thoughtful and reassuring. We won’t hesitate to rely on Madison in the future and highly recommend her services to others.”

“Anna was great! So thankful that she was available over the Holidays. She was on time for every visit and sent us pictures everytime. She even came over beforehand so she could meet Chip! Would recommend her to anyone!!”

“John stayed the day with our two dogs. It was our first time using him, so he was kind enough to come meet the pups a couple days prior to sitting them - to make sure it was a good fit. The dogs immediately liked him & approved! He arrived on time, sent pictures during the day, and was very polite. I plan to use him again :-)”

About: Hi! We’re Amanda & Mike, a husband and wife team with a deep love for animals. One of the benefits of choosing us is that there are two of us! This allows for greater flexibility, more attention, and plenty of love for your pets. You can feel confident knowing your pet will receive the care and companionship they deserve, with one or both of us there to help ensure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We understand how important it is to trust the people caring for your pets while you’re away. We’ll care for your pets per your instructions with the same love and attention we give our own, including playtime, belly rubs, cuddles, and, of course, a little spoiling! ❤️ Whether your pet is energetic and ready to play or simply wants companionship and affection, we’re happy to meet them where they are and make them feel comfortable. Amanda & Mike We are empty nesters with flexible schedules that would have a farm of animals if we could so instead are choosing your pets to allow us to give back to our community. We will follow all of your instructions to see to it that your pet is taken care of just as he/she is used to. Feedings, walks, playtime etc. When keeping pets in your home we are also happy to do small things such as check the mail or water plants per your quest.
“Emma was awesome! She made sure to communicate every time she stopped by the house to feed and check on the pets. Our cat who doesn’t always like everyone was in love with her! So you know she has good energy. This was our first time hiring a pet sitter and Emma made sure we knew our pets were doing well and were comfortable and cared for. Will definitely be rebooking in the future.”

I have had experience in puppy training and working with dogs of all ages and size. I will treat your dog as if it were my own best friend! I am responsible and reliable and if I am free I will help as soon as possible! I like to provide fun updates to owners about the adventures their dogs and I have. I try to keep your dog on the same schedule that you keep them on, although they may get longer walks and more belly and shoulder rubs with me.
About: What sets me apart is that caring for dogs has always been part of my everyday life. Growing up, my parents frequently puppy-sat for multiple dogs, which taught me how to handle different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I also have two dogs of my own at home, giving me firsthand experience with daily care, patience, and responsibility. In addition, I have experience with dog walking and hosting pups, so I understand how to keep dogs safe, comfortable, and happy both on walks and in a home setting. I treat every dog like they’re my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As a student-athlete at Liberty, I’m very structured with my time, which makes it easy for me to plan walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins around my classes and training schedule. Caring for dogs is something I genuinely enjoy and find relaxing, so I’m happy to make it a consistent part of my day and week while still being reliable and attentive to each pet’s needs. I currently do not offer pet care in my own home since I live in an apartment complex. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I am very respectful of their space and follow all instructions closely. I make sure pets stay on their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care they need. My goal is to keep pets comfortable, safe, and stress-free while maintaining a clean and respectful environment in my clients’ homes.

About: Hi! I’ve been pet-sitting since I was 15 and caring for family pets since I was little. I’ve always loved giving special attention to pets and getting to know their personalities. My family dog is in his senior years and we’ve taken great care of his specific needs, always making sure he’s not in pain and receives the love he deserves. I’ve been around animals of all sizes. I'm a dependable and caring animal lover. While I'm new to Rover, I've spent years around pets and understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog. I'm active, attentive, and committed to making sure every walk is safe, fun, and tailored to your dog's needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, or a slower pace, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention and care. I believe pet parents should feel at ease about how their pets are being taken care of. Regular updates, photos, and communication are an essential part of pet care. I understand that every pet is part of the family, and I'll treat your pet with the same care and respect I would give my own. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your furry friend! I’m currently working part-time and I have a loose routine which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your furry family members! It’s important for me to keep to the schedules and familiarity of a pets’ routine and make a visit as stress free as possible. Being aware of surroundings on walks and ensuring safety for a pet is a top priority, which builds their trust and leads to more enjoyable play time. Paying attention their behavior and small signs of discomfort reassures owners that I care for their animals in the same way they would.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
