“Malia has been fantastic with our nervous shepherd, Selkie. I am very cautious about who I leave her with and Malia handled her fabulously, made sure she had the best time and keep us updated with photos the whole time we were away. It was super reassuring and so happy she could take care of her both times we have been away. Highly recommend and will 100% be calling upon her to pet sit for us in the future!”

“Vivien did an excellent job caring for my aging feline on the 4th of July when I had to be away from her. Throughout the evening of fireworks explosions, Vivien kept my Kitty calm and soothed her so that she felt safe. She stayed with her overnight and left when all was well the next morning. The peace of mind this gave me was tremendous. Her communication with me was excellent and she left my home in the same great condition that she found it. I definitely recommend Vivien for you Feline or Canine pet sitting needs and for overnight stays if necessary. I will definitely be calling on Vivian again for her pet care services.”

“Aunya was fantastic. She made sure all four dogs were well taken care and even cleaned up as she left the house. She was very responsive and provided check-ins. I would definitely let her take care of my wild pack any time!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats most of my life as well as birds, rodents, reptiles, and fish. I am happy to prepare fresh or specialty foods as needed. I adore pets and look forward to meeting with my clients and their humans daily. Fur feathers or fins, I love them all. Safety and security is always number one! I want to be sure you come home to a happy health pet in a secure home. Your pet will be provided with the supplied food, ample water and given time to exercise. About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have hands-on experience caring for pets of different sizes, ages, and energy levels. As a college athlete, I’m very active, so I love walking, playing, and keeping dogs engaged. I’ve worked with younger dogs who need patience and consistency, as well as older dogs who need a calmer, more attentive approach. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, administering basic medications, and making sure pets feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I treat every pet like my own and focus on building trust with both the dog and the owner. I’m a college student and athlete, so I’m responsible, disciplined, and used to sticking to a routine. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and staying active, so pet care fits naturally into my lifestyle. I’m dependable, communicative, and will always keep you updated so you feel comfortable while you’re away. My schedule is flexible, especially in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings outside of training and classes. I’m used to planning my day around responsibilities, so I can consistently fit in walks, check-ins, or overnight care. Pet care works well with my routine because I already stay active daily, and I enjoy getting outside and spending time with animals. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow your instructions closely, including feeding, medications, and routines. In your home, I respect your space and keep everything clean and secure. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are handled carefully to prevent any accidents. I stay attentive during walks and avoid unsafe environments. I also provide updates, photos, and communication so you always know your pet is in good hands.
“Ren was very accommodating and took great care of our fur babies. Very thorough and she asked a lot of questions before booking. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to book her again!”

“Lauren did a wonderful job! The pictures she sent showed the dogs looking either Happy or Sleeping. The house looked so good when we walked in There wasn’t anything in the kitchen sink ( so nice to not have to load the dishwasher or do dishes when we got home). The bed was made and all of the bathroom towels were hung up neatly. I couldn’t even tell what ones were used. It’s such a relief to know the dogs are being taken care of, especially in their own home.. Lauren was very sweet and clearly seems to love dogs. We will definitely use her services again. She even cleaned the eye burgers out of the dogs eyes. We usually come home to the dogs eyes in a mess. We already have plans to use her in early February. We just have to figure out the dates we need to gone. A Happy Dog Owner! Carla Sewall”

“Kattie was incredible! We had a last minute family emergency and she came to help. My dogs have absolutely loved her. I have several special needs dogs with meds needed. She was comfortable and great with administering them. We got daily pictures which helped out our minds at ease. If you need a great person that goes above and beyond for your pups this is your lady. Thanks again Kattie.”

“Nolan was wonderful! She made sure my dogs had exercise before the heat set in and was truthworthy with access to the home without someone being there. Truly appreciate her and will hire her again!”

“Maria took excellent care of my babies and house. She provided daily updates with pictures. My house was left in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend her and will be using her for future visits.”

“Nyah was absolutely wonderful with our baby. She stayed in our home and left everything in impeccable condition. She was communicative and very accommodating when our travel back home was delayed by the airline. She spent extra time with Zuri so that we didn't have to worry about her as we were trying to figure out how to get home sooner. I would recommend her to anyone in need of someone kind, considerate and great with animals. Will definitely book with Nyah again.”

“This is the second time I’ve used Josue and I have not had any problems at all. He is very good with Mylo and very responsive when needed. Kept my place in good condition and took great care of Mylo! Will be using him again!”

“Emily is the BEST! She was so patient and kind with our very opinionated and timid dog who takes some time to warm up to others. We are so grateful for her kindness and professionalism - and she took wonderful care of our home. 10 Stars!!! ⭐️”

“Our original house sitter (not from Rover) cancelled about a week away from departure. Because of the timing there were no kennel options (we don't do cheap with the babies), and Rover past sitters were all unavailable. Stephen came up with no previous jobs in this area but seemed ok on the site. So with our previous good experiences with Rover we decided to give him a try. He came over for about an hour the day after we picked him to meet the doggies and find out about the house which is large with a lot of automation. By the end of that meeting we were comfortable with his abilities. While we were away, he checked in with us daily, sent pictures and asked good questions on things that I had forgot to mention. The doggies took to him right away and ate well (one gets finnicky if he is worried) while having a good time with him. We always tell house sitters to make themselves at home and have never had a problem with the condition of the house when we returned. Stephen was no exception, he left the house clean, vacuumed, dishes clean and left the bedding as instructed by my wife. One of our dogs is very good at escaping and runs across roads, through yards and can get lost. Stephen apparently had no problems keeping Henry busy but, on a leash, outside of the house as observed on the outdoor Ring cameras during walks. We (including the doggies) look forward to seeing him again. We would highly recommend him for your consideration.”

“Omar is really a very good dog sitter, he is sweet, calm, knowledgeable, he is a natural! Our two labs Floki and Raven loved him, they are big energetic dogs and he was able to handle them both with no problems, he even walked them together!! I will definitely book him again and recommend him as responsible and respectful.”

About: I'm the pet sitter I would like to have. While you are away or at work, they are my responsibility and I care for them like my own. My job is to keep people from feeling anxious or guilty and I do that by caring for their pets while keeping them involved and informed. * Serving Redstone Arsenal * Discount for pets in the County Line area. Rover fits with my lifestyle and I do it full-time. I have regular clients who need pet care while they work and I care for other pets whose people are out of town. Lately, I've been specializing in shy/fearful animals. I wear pheromones (the smell mamas make to tell puppies and kittens everything is okay) like a teenage boy wears Axe body spray. I bring special treats and music developed for pets using neuroscience. And we will take things at the pet's pace. I've done some creative things trying to get pets to eat or come back inside. Unless there is a medical or safety need, everything I do is reward-based and force-free.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 369 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Woodland Mills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodland Mills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodland Mills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodland Mills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodland Mills. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
