“This was our third time using Josh for overnight stays, and he continues to be a really great sitter. His communication is excellent. He provides regular updates and is always very responsive. It's stressful to have your pets care (and your home) in someone else's hands. Josh's communication definitely helps us feel more at ease. We have a fenced yard, but Josh always takes Rider on walks which I really appreciate (as does Rider). Every time we've come home you'd never know he was there. He brings in packages, etc. which again, I really appreciate. We will continue to book Josh without question!”

“Fantastic house/dog sitter! She did an AMAZING job taking care of my two dogs and keeping us in the loop with daily photos and reports. If you get the opportunity to book with Alexa do it!!”

“This is my second booking with Michael. He is 100% reliable and my dog loves him! He took care of my pool and my plants. He communicated very well and sent me pics and updates every day. Would highly recommend booking Michael!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover and pet owner, I understand that pets are family. I have hands on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels, including daily walks, feeding, playtime, administering basic medications, and providing plenty of love and attention. I have owned a Golden Retriever, yorkie, two Great Danes, and a pitbull. I am comfortable with everything from energetic exercise sessions to gentle care for smaller breeds. I pride myself on being reliable, responsible, and attentive to each pet's unique needs. Whether your dog needs a long walk, a quick potty break, or companionship while you're away, I will treat them with the same care and affection I give my own pets. My goal is to ensure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while giving owners peace of mind. I do work Monday through Friday from 9-1 which is about 15 minutes away from my house, but my hours are very flexible to where I can be home during the day. I have a fenced in yard, I have a pool if your dog is a water lover, lots of treats, I used to have many dogs but as of now I only have a yorkie in the house along with my two younger siblings who grew up with dogs and love dogs and my two parents.
“Troy & Shalah were AMAZING with our baby Cosmo and our home! 🤩 We were beyond happy to see daily photos of Cosmo, along with check ins and texts regularly. We had absolutely no concerns at all and will happily book them again! Thanks so much! 🐶❤️”

About: I started taking care of dogs since I was 12. I have exp. walking dogs. Cleaning up after them, giving food/water, potty breaks. Cleaning cages. I'm not working right now. Trying to find something. Our house is quiet & laid back. I'm available during the day. Both my dogs are friendly & like to play. I have a 6ft privacy fence in yard. 2 spayed female dogs & 1 cat. They usually just hang out around the house. I let them out when needed & wander the yard.

“We are new to the country and Rover app . Therefore had fair share of doubts with regard to leaving our pet Madder . Our experience with Emma has rested all our doubts. Her skills, smiling and affable demeanor instantly lifted our spirits and our confidence bounced right back. Emma updated us with pics and videos of our pet and her reassuring words made our day out, stress free and delightful. We look forward to her services again. Thank you Emma and team Rover .”

About: Although I do not have formal experience I’ve had two dogs growing up. One was a Beagle (Sugar) and the other was a Husky-Pitt mix (The Kraken) both opposite in size, temperament and energy level so no dog intimidates me regardless of breed. With those dogs I have attended both Petsmart and Canine Academy for training classes so I am familiar with basic training and behavior redirection techniques. I also care for family and friend’s dogs if they are away, my one set of friends owning 4 dogs of various sizes/breeds. I have also had three cats over my life, my current cat is Luna (14) and I have taken care of reptiles, snakes and ferrets for friends. Currently I work as a Body Jeweler full time so I have openings for evenings and weekends. PLEASE NOTE: For walks I can only do 5pm - 10pm, NOTHING BEFORE sadly Rover does not let me set these settings. I can do house sittings regardless of my schedule but I will be gone for 8hrs for work during the weekday. I truly will treat your pets like one of my own. This includes feeding and making sure they are let out before I go to work as well as treats and playtime. If only walking your dogs I will make sure they to enjoy every minute of their time outside. As for your home I will respect your space and should your pet make any mess while you are away I will let you know as well as clean what I can.
“Ryan was great! She stayed with our "pups" (as she cutely called them) for almost a week. Right from the start she sent texts, photos, and a sense that all was under control. Meeting her before the stay both her experience as a student working towards going to vet school and as a horse owner sealed the deal. We'd happily use her again.”

About: Hi! I’m Aster, I’m a college student, and I’ve loved pets since I was still learning how to walk! Since I was little I’ve lived with and cared for five different dogs, one of which I personally trained since he was a puppy, and two rescues that needed some more TLC than your average pet. I’ve walked and pet-sat for various friends and neighbors since I was five—for dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs and birds! I’ve volunteered at farms and worked with a variety of farm animals as well. I currently have two dogs and a cat. I’m well accustomed to walking, feeding, grooming, bath time, giving medication via pills or gels, and lots and lots of love! I’ve cared for senior and puppy dogs, and dogs from 10 up to 90 pounds so I’m ready for any size of furball. My husky mix Sky has been with me for almost 11 years now, meaning I’m also used to handling dogs with higher energy or mischievous personalities (if you’re a fellow husky owner I know you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about haha). I’ve cared for a rescue cat of my own since she was about a year old, and also have some experience pet sitting for others’ cats. Any pet I take care of I always treat like they’re my own furbaby! Pets are family to me, not just a job, and I make an effort to truly connect with any pet I’m caring for—even if it’s just for one walk! I promise lots of pets and attention (if that’s something your pet likes) and I’m always up for taking as many photos as you want of your pet so you can see how they’re doing! I’m currently home from college for the summer and have extremely open and flexible hours for pet care. I’ll be available until the end of August when I leave for my next semester. I am very flexible to following whatever plan your pet needs. If you give me a schedule I will do my absolute best to follow it down to the punctuation! Whether I’m walking or pet sitting your pet, they’ll have my full attention. I’m always looking out for their health and comfort.
“I was so happy to leave my dog in Bill’s capable and caring hands. I got lots of updates throughout my trip and Bill was very attentive to the details and little quirks that my dog has. I look forward to having him back in the future!”

“Giana was such a great help to us when we had an impromptu over night trip. She was very communicative and sent so many pictures of our Shiloh! I would absolutely recommend booking with her and I can guarantee your pet will be happy too!”

About: Growing up with dogs my entire life and two years experience pet sitting for different families, large and small breeds, I will make sure your pet is taken care of! I have taken care of many dogs with varying levels of needs and can adapt to food and walk schedules, basic medication, and each dog’s personality and needs. I’m a college student at Vassar College, but am home in Pennsylvania for breaks with a flexible schedule with my part time job at Ulta Beauty. I’m flexible during weekdays, evenings, and weekends, and can adjust my availability according to the pet’s needs! I also have my own French bulldog named Merlin, like the wizard 🧙♂️ I’ve had three dogs of my own throughout my life so have that basic knowledge of pet care from those experiences. I ensure I keep the pets safe, comfortable, and on their normal routines as much as I possibly can. In a client’s home, I also ensure I respect all instructions carefully, make sure the pets are safe, and keep all doors secure. I stay in contact with the owners, making sure the owner is reassured while they are away, paying closely attention to the pets feeding habits and behavior changes. I’m excited to take care of your pups!
“Kelsey was great with our dogs! We were away for a week and she stayed at our house and when we came back, it was like we never left! She kept everything clean and sent updates of the dogs daily! Both our dogs are on daily medication, and she was great with that! I would highly recommend her and we will most definitely be using her in the future!”

“Kim & Bill are the best, very attentive and loving towards my four dogs! I appreciate that they always send pictures and provide frequent updates keeping my mind at ease while away.”

“We are so lucky to have Kelly!! We return home from each trip to happy pets and a clean house! Thank you Kelly, we appreciate your flexibility, especially with our last minute travel adjustments! Cheers!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodbourne
Jenna was sweet and updated us every day about how our furry crew was doing. The house was tidy, and she even took out the trash before we came home (we were only gone 3 full days!). The food bowls were also all washed and waiting for us. Our dog and 3 cats all seemed happy and undisturbed by our absence when we got home. Jenna did a lovely job, and I think our animals really liked her!

Once again bill has come through for me this time staying overnight with my dogs and house sitting as well. It worked out really well the dogs love him so much. I think the dogs do better knowing that a Holman is in the house..Bill is the best as his wife Kim Is I feel like they are family

Bridgett was a wonderful care taker for our 2 standard poodles. She took them on long walks and sent pictures of them enjoying the sunshine. Bridgett stayed in our home for 8 nights and we came home to a very clean and orderly home. I would definitely use her again.
Greg was a fantastic pet sitter. He stayed overnight in our home with our three small dogs during our vacation, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was on time, great with communication, and consistently sent detailed updates and photos that kept us at ease. Our dogs loved him. Our senior dog with medical needs received extra patience and care. Greg followed every instruction, left our home immaculate, and went the extra mile to give each dog plenty of love. We’ll definitely be using him again in the future, and I recommend Greg to anyone looking in-home pet sitting.

This is our first time using the Rover service and so glad we did! Rachel was awesome and couldn't asked for better care for our 2 cats. Rachel arrived as expected and stayed and played with them each time, sending pictures along the way. I felt very comfortable with Rachel and how well our babies took to her. Will definitely be using Rachel for future needs. Thanks Rachel!!! 🐾

Abby was excellent with my two rescue dogs! They are each 50 lbs with two different personalities and she handled them perfectly. She was easy-going with them and made them feel comfortable in the house while I was away. She kept up on their medicine schedule and even swept up all their hair! I highly recommend Abby to anyone looking for a responsible, caring sitter.

Cara watched Josie for 8 days and stayed with her at my apartment. She took excellent care of her! The apartment was left in perfect condition as well. She was communicative and sent me follow up pictures. I would certainly book her again whenever she’s in town! Josie would as well :)

I’ve used Kim and Bill multiple times now and will continue to use them. They’re both extremely attentive and kind towards my 5 dogs that they watched over the last 7 days. They always send photos and provide regular updates throughout their stay. Highly recommend!

FAQs for House Sitting - Woodbourne
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Woodbourne on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,495 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Woodbourne. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodbourne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodbourne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodbourne. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
