“Jim again was a super dog caregiver. This is our second long stay with Jim for our dog, Keetna. We had wonderful pictures each day and we could tell during that time and when we picked him up that he was well taken care of (and even loved). Thank you Jim!!!!”

“Rosalina was amazing! She saved our life as we had an emergency which had us looking for a puppy sitter last minute and Rosalina responded within 10 minutes and quickly agreed to watch our puppy. Her family was so welcoming, she sent pictures every few hours with updates, and responded fast if u asked any questions. We will for sure reach out to Rosalina for any future needs!”

“Corey took excellent care of my pup while I was out of town for 5 days! I got pictures each day and he was quick to respond to my messages. Corey has very sweet dogs of his own, so Kota always had someone to play with. I will certainly be a repeat client - thanks Corey!”

“My pup’s stay with Cindy was absolutely wonderful! Cindy was communicative, flexible, sent frequent updates and pictures, AND provided special care for my special needs girl. She and her husband are kind, friendly people who clearly love dogs. I can’t thank them enough and would recommend to anybody!”
“I am so grateful to Rebecca. She was willing to accept a senior dog with medical needs pretty last minute. She was super kind and helpful when meeting, and she gives plenty of updates while you're away. I have nothing but praise for her, as my dog had a medical emergency while in her care and she was able to notice it early based on behavior alone. It ended up that I came back and had to put the dog down as it was her time to go, but thanks to her I had time to say goodbye. I would trust her with any pet, and I will always be grateful for how she cared for my old girl. - Kaitlyn (mom of Gerti)”

“Absolutely wonderful dog sitter and caregiver! Kathleen (Katie) has been my go-to dog boarder for over 15 years, and I was thrilled when she joined Rover so more people could find her. She recently watched my dog for me, and it was just as fantastic as always. From the very first day we met, I knew my pups were in the best hands. Katie truly loves dogs and it shows in everything she does. When we adopted our puppy a while back, Katie was incredibly helpful — offering advice, extra patience, and gentle guidance as we all adjusted to life with a new little one. She has such a calming presence with dogs of all ages and personalities. My dog always comes home happy, well-exercised, and clearly well-loved. If you’re looking for someone who treats your dog like their own, look no further. Katie is professional, communicative, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about what she does. I recommend her without hesitation — she’s the real deal! Thank you, Katie, for always taking such great care of my furry family members. ❤️”

“Richard and family took excellent care of our Daisy. It was her first stay with him and he sent us regular updates, photos and video. Was a huge reassurance that she was not only doing okay but playing and having an awesome time with Richard and his family. We will definitely book with him in the future!”

“Tracie was able to watch Flurry at the last minute. She was super responsive, sent us photos and videos, and kept us up to date while he was with her. Her family made Flurry feel at home and we knew he was in great hands. Highly recommend and we will use her again!”

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience leaving our dog, Max, with Camila! This was our first time using Rover, and we were a little nervous about it, but Camila handled it perfectly! She took great care of Max, and gave us feedback on how he was doing during his stay. If you are in the area, we highly recommend that you try her out!”

About: I’m a professional dog trainer with over 10 years of experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages, temperaments, and training levels. Dog training and behavior isn’t a hobby for me—it’s what I do professionally every day. What sets my home apart from a typical boarding environment is the experience, structure, and understanding of canine behavior your dog receives while staying with me. I’m comfortable working with everything from puppies and high-energy working breeds to senior dogs and dogs with behavioral challenges, including reactivity and aggression. Dogs stay on my private 1.2-acre property with a fully fenced 6-foot privacy fence, giving them plenty of safe space for exercise, play, and outdoor time. I believe dogs need more than simply being let outside—they need engagement, play, structure, and biological fulfillment. I own and work German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois and have extensive experience with powerful, high-drive working breeds. I understand that every dog is an individual, so their stay is tailored to their temperament, energy level, physical abilities, and needs. Dogs are safely kenneled when they cannot be directly supervised and receive individual attention, play, exercise, and structured time throughout their stay. I also provide regular photo and video updates so you can actually see how your dog is doing while you’re away. Whether you have an easygoing family dog, a young energetic puppy, a senior who needs a little extra consideration, or a dog that isn’t appropriate for a traditional daycare or boarding facility, my goal is to provide a safe, structured, enjoyable environment where you can feel confident leaving your dog. Dogs are already a major part of my daily routine. As a professional dog trainer, my days are built around training, exercising, playing with, and caring for dogs, so boarding isn’t something I have to fit around a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. I work from my home and have the flexibility to provide frequent potty breaks, outdoor time, individual play, exercise, and attention throughout the day. My property sits on 1.2 private acres with a fully fenced 6-foot privacy fence, giving dogs plenty of safe space to get outside and enjoy themselves. I keep a structured routine while also adjusting each dog’s day based on their age, energy level, temperament, physical needs, and what they’re accustomed to at home. Dogs are safely kenneled whenever they cannot be directly supervised and get multiple opportunities throughout the day to be outside, move, play, and engage. Because dogs are part of my everyday life—not something I care for only before or after work—I’m able to be very involved throughout their entire stay. Safety is my first priority. As a professional dog trainer, I understand canine behavior, body language, stress, arousal, and how quickly interactions between dogs can change. I don’t believe in simply putting unfamiliar dogs together and hoping everyone gets along. Dogs staying with me are supervised and managed based on their individual temperament, behavior, and needs. I have the ability to keep dogs completely separate when necessary, which also allows me to safely accommodate dogs that may not be appropriate for traditional daycare or open-play boarding environments. My home sits on 1.2 private acres with a fully fenced 6-foot privacy fence, providing plenty of secure space for outdoor time, exercise, and play. Dogs are safely kenneled whenever they cannot be directly supervised, and I never rely on a fenced yard as a substitute for supervision. Each dog’s routine is individualized. I follow owner instructions regarding feeding, medications, physical limitations, household routines, and any behavioral concerns. I’m experienced with puppies, senior dogs, high-drive working breeds, reactive dogs, and dogs with aggression or other behavioral challenges. I also have German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois working dogs of my own. Guest dogs are not automatically expected to interact with my personal dogs or other boarding dogs. Any interaction is intentional and based on the individual dogs involved. My goal is to provide owners with something I would want for my own dogs: a clean, secure, structured environment with knowledgeable supervision, plenty of individual attention, play and outdoor time, and regular photo and video updates so you can feel confident about where your dog is staying.
“Jamie was an incredible sitter! She handled all my dog’s quirks well and both her, her family, and all her critters made my pup feel right at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again for future trips.”

“We have booked Nancy multiple times for boarding and drop in dog walks! Our dogs love her! Nancy is very communicative and very accommodating to our schedule! We trust Nancy with our pups, especially with our senior dog!”

“Michelle was wonderful with my boys! What I appreciated most was her daily updates — she kept me informed about how they were settling in, how they were adjusting to a new environment, and how they were getting along with her own fur girls. The photos she sent were such a comfort while I was away. Her communication was also excellent. When a potential marking issue came up, she handled it thoughtfully and professionally — she was open to using diapers instead of crating, which I really appreciated her flexibility on. The one area I’d note is that she seemed to have a busy work schedule, as we all do… When I returned, Huku’s (senior) diaper was full, suggesting he had not been out for a while that day— something to keep in mind if regular outdoor breaks are important for your pups. But overall, Michelle is super caring and communicative sitter who genuinely looks after your dogs. I would certainly ask her again!”

“Hayleigh was a life saver! My dog was so well taken care of all the updates pictures put my mind at ease while I traveled. More than happy with how the experience went and I will definitely recommend her to any fellow dog owners I know.”

“We are thankful to have found Darnell and his family to help with Mai (my mixed GSD) for a whole month. We were able to do in person meet and greet and see the place where the dog stays. Darnell sent photos during length of stay to keep me informed of Mai’s wellbeing. Darnell was also very responsive to messages, to which I appreciate greatly. If you are in need of boarding or day sitting, your fur family member would be in great hands with Darnell and his family.”

“Chloe had a great time with Joanna and John and came home happy and well taken care of. I enjoyed the videos they sent as well. I will definitely use them again!”

“I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. It's challenging to find someone trustworthy as well as genuinely caring of dogs/cats and I feel lucky to have found Angie. She, along with her husband and kids took such good care of my mini dachshund and chihuahua. Having that peace of mind while traveling, knowing they're in good hands proved invaluable. They were very accommodating given both pups have special needs and went above and beyond by dropping off my pups when it was time to go home. I wouldn't think twice about booking with Angie again.”

“This is by far the best, most caring and competent pet boarding you will ever find anywhere! Our 4yo Charlie Australian Cattle Dog mix had never been away from us before. He was in HEAVEN on GGs Funny Farm with more exercise, pack companionship, supervision and affection than he has ever known. He did GREAT! We will return for sure! Our peace of mind for his happiness and outstanding care was PRICELESS! Thank you and God bless these special, caring folks and their farm.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Woodbine Forest home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Woodbine Forest.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Woodbine Forest sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
