“Katie watched our cat and did some house sitting for several days, and she did an amazing job! She sent picture updates that gave me so much peace of mind, and he was clearly happy, playful, and well cared for. She followed all his routines, kept everything tidy, and was great at communicating. I’d definitely recommend her and would happily book with her again!! 10/10!”

“Stephanie reliably checked on our cats while we were away. They didn’t all make friends but they were checked on and fed and I’m sure Pooper appreciated being brushed.”

About: I've taken care of sick dogs, dogs on diets, and dogs that are used to a routine, but am able to take care of any situation. I love to be around animals and will happily make sure your dogs are kept safe and happy. I work Full-time Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday from 8:30 - 4:30 and Wed from 11 -7. I am happy to come "home" each day after work to your home and stay during the workweek, I just will not be able to be with them until after work during the week. I am fully available on most weekends, so just let me know what works! For the dogs I have taken care of before, I always walk with leashes, even for well trained dogs, I will be new to them. I always pick up after dogs on walks. I have owned cats and dogs all my life, and am very comfortable with any dog or cat. I will keep doors locked when inside and of course when leaving the house.
“Makayla was awesome!! This is my first time using Rover but I will surely use her services again. Updated daily on them and pics of three. She did everything I asked and my cats warmed up to her.”

I’ve taken care of dogs for many years, my friends and family always ask if I can watch their dogs and make sure they go out and use the bathroom, are feed and have water. And most importantly that they play their little heart out. I’m currently part-time, so I’ll have all the time in the world to make sure your animals are well take care of and that means more play time! I’m available all week after noon. I have a fenced backyard, and I’m easily able to put my cats up, giving your pup all the love and attention they need and deserve!
“Noeli was absolutely fantastic with watching our three kitties while we were out of town for a whole week. She left very detailed notes about each visit. I’ve never used a service like rover before, but Noeli made me so comfortable with the entire process. I will 100% be referring her to my friends and family and I will absolutely be re-booking her again!”

“Thank you for the last min booking. We wouldn't have been able to go on our family trip without you. You were awesome with our diabetic cat given her skittishness with strangers and temperamental attitude. Thank you for the constant communication and photos as well.”

You can feel confident that your pets are well cared for—she recently looked after several cats across two households and managed everything smoothly over the holidays. I’m very grateful for the care and attention she gave my babies and would absolutely book her again.”

About: Hi! My name is Kylie, and I’m an animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I currently have one cat, Nova, who keeps me company, but I grew up surrounded by animals, including cats & dogs. My professional experience includes working for 5 years as a kennel technician at a boarding kennel in Culpeper, where I cared for a wide variety of dog breeds, personalities, and energy levels. During my time there, I gained valuable experience with feeding, exercise, cleaning, monitoring pets’ health and behavior, and administering medications to dogs who needed them. I understand that every dog is different, and I strive to provide care that fits each pet’s individual needs and personality. Whether your pup needs a walk, some playtime, companionship, or simply a little extra attention while you’re away, I’m happy to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Your pets are family, and I treat them that way! I look forward to getting to know you and your furry friends. 🐾 I’m available anytime for drop-in visits to care for your pets, ensuring they receive the attention and love they need while you’re away. I appreciate your interest, but I currently do not provide pet care in my home. I focus on drop-in pet sitting for your furry friends.
About: Hi! I’m an experienced animal care professional with 15 years of experience as a zookeeper, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of caring for and working with all kinds of species, giving me a deep understanding of animal behavior, individual needs, and the importance of patience, compassion, and trust. Whether your pet is playful and energetic, shy and nervous, senior, or simply loves some extra attention, I’m comfortable meeting them where they are and providing care tailored to their personality and routine. I know how important it is to feel confident that your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I treat every animal in my care as an individual and take pride in providing dependable, attentive, and loving care. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your pets and give them the same care and attention I would want for my own! I work from home with a flexible part-time schedule, giving me plenty of time and availability to provide attentive care and drop-in visits for your pets. Since I have pets of my own, I primarily focus on drop-in visits. However, I’m always happy to discuss other options to find the best arrangement for you and your pets.
“Debora was a wonderful sitter for our 2 cats! Very communicative and kind, and my shy kitties would greet her at the door. We will definitely be utilizing her services again!”

“This is our third time having Jessica over. She is very conscientious, responsive, prompt and responsible. She works hard to befriend our kitties even though they are not cooperative, and we appreciate that a lot! We feel very safe giving her access to our pets and our home! She is a blessing and we’re very thankful!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
