“Aby was so amazing to our dog when we went out of town for a long weekend. He required daily medication after a last minute emergency vet visit, and she went above and beyond to keep him comfortable as well as keeping me informed. Aby took great care of the house and was so respectful. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived back at home. She followed all instructions to a T, and sent photos and messages frequently! Will definitely be a repeat client of hers, and you should be too!”

“We had to go out of town for our daughter's wedding and did not have to worry at all about our fur babies. They were all well loved and taken care of. She even did some house cleaning that I did not request or expect! I could not be happier with our experience with her.”

“Lauren was WONDERFUL with River: she was easy to communicate with and sent me updates every time she stopped by. She even vacuumed my house while I was away. Great and sweet human being: I would use her again!! I always felt comfortable knowing she was reliable and quick to respond.”

“Sara, you are an absolute gem!!! Thank you and your beautiful daughter for taking such good care of our babies and home! The regular communication and pictures was wonderful and put us at ease while we traveled to Montana. 5 stars simply enough!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“I can not say enough about how awesome Julie was! She kept my pups busy while we were away and we even came home to a clean house. She updated me frequently on how they were doing. I will definitely be having Julie back to watch my pups soon!”

“Anais was such a great sitter for our Doberman pinscher! We had her boarded in our home. She came and did such a great job with her. In all the pictures Mazikeen showed her playful and sassy self and was so happy to see Anais. She went over and beyond when in our home and did things that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely use her again and highly recommend her for anyone looking for someone to care for your pets! Thank you Anais! You are always welcome in our home with our fur baby 💕”

“Jennifer is wonderful! We have 2 large dogs and one can be reactive when walking. Jennifer handles her well and has had no issues. She does a great job of keeping us updated daily and sends pictures.”
About: We have been Volunteers (Beagle Freedom Project, Midwest BREW and New Mexico Beagle Rescue) and Pet Sitters for over 14 years and LOVE all animals. With several Rescued Beagles of our own, we enjoy meeting and caring for any and all breeds of dogs and cats, etc. Carol has worked for an Animal Hospital and can administer injections when necessary. As Retirees, we have all the time in the world to stay at your home or make numerous visits during the day. Your pets will never been alone for more than a few hours. Potty breaks, play time or just relaxing on a couch with a human by their side are all part of a normal day. We are unable to care for pets in our home due to community HOA restrictions. But we would love to take care of your fur babies in their own comfortable surroundings!

About: I have always had a genuine passion for helping others! As a reliable, patient, and friendly sitter, you can trust that your fur baby will be in great hands! I have a cat of my own but I am also a dog lover, big & small! I’m currently a college student and working part time but my schedule is still fairly open! I am even available on weekends, early mornings, and late nights. I take pride in respecting my client’s home and privacy while caring for their pets! My goal is to give you a peace of mind knowing your pet and your home are in trustworthy hands.
“Julie was excellent! Our girl Moxie suffers from separation anxiety and Julie knew how to support her while we were gone. In addition, our house was so clean you wouldn’t have known anyone else had been there. Thank you, Julie!”

“Susan took great care of Sullivan while out of town for one night. She successfully administered his medication, gave him lots of cuddles & outside time & provided pictures as well as updates. She was also very willing to help out with a last-minute request. We definitely plan to use Susan again in the future!”

“Aaron was wonderful and truly loved spending time with Gracie and Roxie! Aaron sent pictures and updates daily, which was greatly appreciated! He let me know that Roxie took a little bit of time to warm up but then was herself with being a big snuggler, and that Gracie did great on her walks. Last time we had made this trip we had an 8 hour delay, and asked Aaron ahead of time if something like this happened again could he stay, and he said he could. Luckily all went well and we were able to arrive home on time to two very happy and very well cared for pups! Will definitely use Aaron again!!”

“This was our first time using Rover and it went better than we could expect. Drew was attentive and provided as many updates and photos that I could want. I recommend her and i will most definitely be contacting her again.”

“Rebecca did an amazing job caring for our home, our three dogs, and our three cats! We will definitely call on her again! I highly recommend her for all your pet care needs!”

“Raven was SO accommodating with Woody. The whole process was smooth with her, from the drop off to the updates (with pics of Woody) and the pick. For my next weekend trip out of town I would def have Raven watch Woody again!!”

“Cheyenne was absolutely amazing - she stayed in our house for 5 days and watched our two dogs. Best dog sitter we’ve used (and we’ve had a good few)!! She sent updates and kept them on their routines! Left our house clean as can be. Dogs were happy as can be when we got home so we knew they had a great time too!”

“We were out of town for the weekend, and Miss Ashlyn took wonderful care of Fallon. She followed all of Fallon’s feeding and medication instructions, took her on walks, and kept us updated with messages and photos. It gave us great peace of mind knowing Fallon was in such caring and reliable hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup! We highly recommend Miss Ashlyn and would gladly trust her with Fallon again.”

“Isis was extremely patient with our temperamental dogs. When one would not tolerate his harness being put on by a "stranger," she problem solved and used his collar while also communicating to us what was happening. She would send photo updates every day to show how the dogs' comfort levels improved. To top it off, we came home to a house that was cleaner than we left it!. Isis is amazing and wonderful!!!”

Oh my goodness, our family has been blessed to have found Julie! She took such excellent care of our 2 pups: Walking them early before it got too hot, keeping on our schedule and being home for the majority of the day. My youngest pup is timid with new people and is deaf. But somehow Julie won her over as seen in pictures of them cozy together: ) Julie communicated with updates, pictures and questions. In addition to all of this, Julie watered my plants and left my home in the same condition that I left it. That made returning home after 8 days away so much easier. Thank you for everything Julie!
Abriana agreed to watch our dogs super last minute when another sitter cancelled on us. The day I reached out, she came to meet them, and stayed in our house the following day. She saved our trip! My dogs loved her and the house looked better than we left it. Would highly recommend her! Will definitely be reaching out again when we need someone to watch our dogs.

Nya is wonderful! I have a 9 week old German shepherd puppy as well as a 5 year old German shepherd and they had such a great time with her. I’m really glad I found Nya as a provider and I already have my next service booked. She is communicative, caring, and if you’ve met GSD puppies, you know you need patience which she also has. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great provider!

Julie house sat for us this past weekend for the first time. Everything was perfect and seamless, starting from the interview process, booking and the entire stay. Julie gave immediate responses and was direct in communication which I appreciate so much. I’m a bit anxious when away from my fur kids and immediately felt at ease with the first update. All the pictures and I knew she got to know each of their personalities and quirks on the first night. Highly recommend Julie for the anxious dog mama like myself! 10/10 will rebook.

Dyana was wonderful! She took great care of our dogs while we were out of town. One of our dogs was sick so she administered medication when needed and kept a close eye on her for me. She was also great at communicating with us each day. I felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with her. I will definitely hire her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Windwood
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Windwood on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 1,651 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windwood. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
