“Paula provided just what we needed for our Chihuahua—a safe place to stay while we were in town for lunch. Our venue was not dog friendly, but knowing that our pup was being well cared for put our minds at ease.”

“Bertie was amazing! It was my first time using Rover as a pet owner, and I needed a sitter for the day while on vacation. My puppy is still fairly young and is very attached to me, but she appeared to settle in pretty quickly and have a great time with some other pups. Bertie stayed in touch while I was out, sending pics and updates, and even recommended some great local spots to check out. Super happy with this experience!”

“Svitlana was wonderful! She sent multiple pictures throughout the day and even a video. She has a nice fenced in backyard and her pup was the perfect playmate for my dog. I can’t wait to book with her again!”

“Awesome dog sitter! I was in Charlottesville for an interview, and needed a sitter pretty last minute. Caroline was super responsive, sent me so many cute updates, pictures and videos during the day. Raina had so much fun playing with the other dogs, and I would 100% rebook if I’m in the area in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Jani & Paul were able to graciously accommodate my puppy for daycare on very short notice. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay and will most definitely be booking again. The best!!!”

“Ashley was so accommodating and communicative! My train was over 2 hours late getting back and she checked in and took great care of Luna. I am so appreciative of all the photos and updates she gave throughout the day. I will be leaving Luna with Ashley again!”

“We were impressed with Jessica’s care for our border collie mix Boots for a very long day care day. Boots enjoyed the fenced-in yard and romping with another visiting dog. With a lovely, flexible, positive personality, Jess made us feel assured that Boots was being well taken care of. We would highly recommend her to others and will definitely seek her services again, when we return to town and need temporary dog care.”

“Kyle and Meagan were absolutely AWESOME! They even got my grumpy guy to have fun. That never happens, never. We are on vacation and it was a great burden lifted to know that there are such great people to leave our dogs with! Thank you guys so much!”

“My senior dog was well looked after by Cory and his wife. I forgot to mention my boy's aversion to cats, which I didn't know they have. They were very gracious about my oversight and managed the situation well. Felt very comfortable leaving my boy with them.”

About: Your dog will be treated like part of the family while you're away. I intentionally keep my numbers low so every guest receives plenty of individualized attention and supervision. I'm a homeschool mom, homemaker, and lifelong dog lover. My husband, two daughters, and three dogs make our home a fun, safe, and loving environment where someone is home most of the day. 🐾 Meet & Greets Required I require a free meet-and-greet before accepting new clients to ensure we're a great fit for each other. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! As a homemaker, I'm present for the majority of the day, which allows me to provide consistent attention, potty breaks, and playtime throughout your dog's stay. Every dog adjusts differently, and I have the ability to tailor my routine accordingly. Your dog's comfort and safety are central to how I care for every guest. I closely supervise interactions between guest and resident dogs, and I take time to understand each dog's temperament and needs before allowing unsupervised play. Meals are served separately to maintain a calm environment and avoid food-related tension. I'm happy to follow your dog's established feeding schedule, medication routine, or any additional care instructions you provide. At bedtime, I do my best to replicate your dog's normal setup, whether that's a crate, a dog bed, or another familiar arrangement, so they feel settled and secure throughout their stay.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wildwood
Vanessa and her husband were so warm and welcoming to our nervous pup/mom. Within one minute she sent a message letting me know that all was not just well, but great, as my dog was already enjoying himself with their sweet dogs. Vanessa is an excellent communicator, clearly loves dogs, and provides a warm, fun, and inviting place for running, playing, resting, and snuggling. Our dog is planning to return often!

Julie was wonderful with Bo! We dropped him off while we went to a concert, and she provided thoughtful updates throughout the evening that gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to fully enjoy our night out. It was clear Bo was well cared for and in great hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Julie again the next time we’re in town. Highly recommend!

Im so glad I found Bertie and Lisette! They were gracious enough to accommodate my last-minute request and they are clearly pros at this. They were cognizant of keeping paws off the sidewalk in this heat and asked all the important questions. I’m always worried my pup will be sad the whole time I’m gone but her pups and their attentive care kept him smiling. I was so grateful to receive photos and videos while away too. Overall a great experience and I will definitely be back.

Svitlana was amazing. She loved Finley like he was her own! She sent me lots of pictures and videos of him playing with the other dogs (now his best friends) and it made my day while I was at work. She is the best! She loves your dogs like they are her own. Her and her husband and the perfect dog sitters. ❤️

Awesome dog sitter! I was in Charlottesville for an interview, and needed a sitter pretty last minute. Caroline was super responsive, sent me so many cute updates, pictures and videos during the day. Raina had so much fun playing with the other dogs, and I would 100% rebook if I’m in the area in the future. Highly recommend!

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Bowie! Jayden was wonderful from start to finish. He kept us updated throughout our time away with regular messages and adorable photos of Bowie, which gave us peace of mind. It was clear that Bowie was well cared for and happy. Jayden’s communication was excellent - they were always responsive and proactive about letting us know how things were going. I came back to one very content puppy! I would absolutely book with Jayden again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Wildwood commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
