“Lena was fantastic. She communicated often so we knew how our dog was doing. She took great care of our dog gave her lots of love and plenty of exercise. We would highly recommend !!!”

“Savannah was very punctual for both the meet & greet and the overnight sit at our house. I also appreciated the communication she gave about her schedule. This was our first time having an overnight sitter and it was great to be able to count on someone. Lemonade seemed to enjoy herself as well. We will definitely use Savannah in the future!”

“Courtney was great! We felt very comfortable being away knowing that our pets were getting so much love and attention. We had clear and frequent communications and a plenty of pictures confirming all the good things happening. We'd (and our critters) would be very happy to see Courtney again.”

“Oh, I’m not quite sure where to begin. Owen is such an incredibly sweet, caring and kind young man! We’ve used Rover several times as well as neighbors and friends and family over the years to watch our dogs (we have a 1.5 year old golden doodle, a 7-year-old mini cockapoo, and a 12 yr old miniature boxer) we decided to take a last minute vacation to go see our daughter in North Carolina, which means we were gonna be a good 6 to 7 hours away as well from our dogs, which was nerve-racking and none of our usual people were available. In fact, I couldn’t find anyone available because of the short notice in the five star review arena. I was hesitant to book Owen because the Rover rating had him only like a 2 1/2 star review. But I read the comments and he had two other five star raving reviews and then just one pretty negative rating, but my gut just kept bringing me back to him telling me to give him a chance, so I did. Well you know the saying, “Always trust your gut?” Definitely didn’t fail us with Owen! Our dogs can be pretty intimidating when someone comes up to our dorm. They barrow and sound really ferocious and then they jump all over you be a handful. Owen took right to them and they took right to him! Oh, I forgot to mention the other thing I was nervous about with booking Owen is that he is male. My boxer is not usually a fan of guys whatsoever and he’s super protective if I’m the only one around and not only did he not growl or act standoffishat all towards Owen he seemed like he had known him forever! I honestly wish I could share the photos on here of that same dog Ling with Owen and one of the several photos he sent me. He did every single thing I asked 100% correctly! Which honestly that’s shocking because I leave a full one page document single spaced typed out for people staying at our house watching the dogs and I expect people to forget or missstuff it because it is a lot! Heck my husband and teenage son that live with the dogs full-time don’t remember everything that I want done. Lol Owen didn’t miss a single thing! On top of that, I also have Ringcameras all around the exterior of my home and he played with them and loved on them and they loved on him. In fact I think they even slept with him at night! Lol we got daily check ins from Owen and anything that he noticed was concerning or had questions on he messaged us. And was always super apologetic about disturbing us on vacation. He’s probably nice to a fault Ha! He also washed his bedding in the bedhe stayed in, put our dishes away and some other things which 110,000% is not expected at all! The other thing was shocking is whenever we leave even if family is watching the dogs the dogs will rarely eat and they were so comfortable with him they ate normally! Fortunately with us, we’ve never had any bad experiences with anyone we’ve used on Rover and I would have any of them back again! That being said, there’s just such a loving kind energy that comes off of him that the dogs pick up on so he will be my first call for our next vacation. My husband and I were so impressed with him. We’ve actually thought about reaching out to Rover and seeing if that one negative review could be removed because I get everyone has different experiences, but I just don’t know how there could’ve been such an enormouschange from that review to now is, it’s just not even his character or personality which you will understand if you book him which I highly recommend you do! He should be there with the other five star people, hands-down! So Owen, thank you so very much for loving our babies while we were gone and making us feel so so very comfortable that I don’t have to stress about leaving again! You are a kind soul and I know you had asked me for any tips or suggestions or feedback I can give you for the next time that you can improve on and young man I cannot think of a single thing and that is saying a lot coming from someone like me who is a perfectionist and OCD! We can’t wait to have you over again and I know Jax,Nahla and Montana can’t wait for you to come and stay again also!”

“Ryan was absolutely great! He pinch-hit for a Rover cancellation at the last minute, and was able to come for a meet & greet the day before sitting for our dog. He and Rory hit it off immediately and pics confirmed how much fun they had. Ryan takes his job seriously and asks lots of questions about routine, food, etc. We would not hesitate to use Ryan's services again. Two thumbs way up!”

“Gabrielle housesat for me and my golden retriever Dora for a week. She was wonderful with Dora. She handled Dora's medication and dietary restrictions with no problem. Every picture Gabrielle sent throughout the week showed Dora happy and healthy on her walks and getting her snuggles. Gabrielle was also an excellent house guest, leaving the house clean and tidy. She even watered my plants and vacuumed up copious amounts of dog hair so I didn't have to come home to that! She was very communicative and checked in with me in regularly or if anything was out of the ordinary. I would definitely use Gabrielle again and highly recommend her!”

“Karima took excellent care of our dog Goose and our apartment while we were away for over a week. She was caring, responsive, and helpful throughout her stay. She sent us daily updates and was very professional. She left our apartment clean and Goose absolutely loved her! I would definitely book with Karima again and suggest her for any of your dog sitting needs.”

“Absolutely! Here’s a warm, genuine Rover review: Ally was absolutely wonderful with our dog Daisy! She took care of her for a long weekend and was so sweet, communicative, and attentive throughout her stay. We felt completely comfortable knowing Daisy was in such great hands. To top it off, all of our fire alarms unexpectedly went off while we were away, and Ally handled the situation so calmly and responsibly. We really appreciated how she kept us informed and took care of everything. We would absolutely recommend Ally and would love to have her watch Daisy again!”

“Ashley is a wonderful dog and house sitter! She took great care of Sadie for a week while we were out of town. She did everything I requested and was always very kind and courteous. The house looked exactly how we left it. Not a thing out of place. She is very trustworthy and highly dependable. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“We had a great experience with Alexxis. Our dogs absolutely loved her — it was clear they were comfortable and well cared for the entire time. She was communicative, kind, and made sure to keep us updated with photos. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house, which we really appreciated. It made the whole experience stress-free. Highly recommend and would definitely book with her again!”

“Maranda was fantastic. I really can’t say enough positive things about our experience with her. She was quick to learn and work with the idiosyncrasies of our two cats, took care of our house which was immaculate when we returned and communicated with us while away as much/or as little as we requested. She is very personable, respectful and responsive.”

“Our second house /pet sitting with Alex was great. Sent daily pictures and left me details of all walks and eating habits. Came back to a super clean house as well. Will always use Alex for watching our dog ! He is the best! ”

“100% will book again and highly recommend Steven! Steven watched over my 16 year old cat with few health issues that required extra attention. On top of that, we recently lost another cat (her companion for 15 years) and she has been lonely and high stress. We were having second thoughts about leaving on vacation. Steven did an incredible job communicating during the entire trip. He provided daily summary of how she was doing, her appetite, her energy, meds etc. He honestly made our vacation 100% more relaxing and worry free. When we came back our cat was very chill and relaxed, a great sign that she had great company and that she loved Steven. I plan to become a repeat customer and 100% recommend him. Your pet will certainly be in great hands with Steven”

“I cannot say enough great things about Bronte! When my cat got sick at the start of her stay, Bronte went above and beyond to care for her and ease my anxiety. She was highly responsive and sent daily updates, giving me total peace of mind. My cat can be wary of strangers, but she was quickly enamored with Bronte—purring and cuddling in bed in no time. Bronte is truly fantastic at what she does!”

“Lauren was Amazing! She loved and cared for Biscuit as if she was her own. She kept Biscuit on her usual schedule with exercise, feeding, potty breaks, and daily play time with our neighbor’s pup. She moved Biscuit’s bed in to the guest room with her so Biscuit could sleep right next to her; which she did each night, and even with a snuggly blanket and toys. Lauren sent up cute pictures each day of Biscuit chilling and/or playing. Our neighbor said that Biscuit hung tight to Lauren’s side when they would stop over to play. I know they formed a special bond! We will be asking Lauren back whenever we go away, as we feel confident in her care taking of our fur baby! Lauren cleaned the house, mopped the floor, did all dishes, and changed and washed bedding, blankets, and all towels…including dog towels (rained a lot). We were able to thoroughly enjoy our week long vacation knowing that Biscuit was being very well cared for. Also, Lauren left a summary note for us to come home to. And a very kind special note card as well! Many Thanks to Lauren!!! Sincerely, Tammy and Toney”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wiggins Corner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wiggins Corner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wiggins Corner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wiggins Corner. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
