Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I strive to create a calm, trustworthy, and stress-free environment where pets feel secure, loved, and cared for as if they were my own. I am attentive to each pet’s individual needs, carefully follow owner instructions, and maintain a clean, safe environment during every visit, walk, or overnight stay.
Information Shannon M. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I appreciate learning about their daily routine, personality, and any special needs to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Please let me know about feeding schedules, medications, allergies, favorite activities, fears or anxieties, and how they typically interact with new people or other animals. I also welcome information about training, house rules, and emergency contacts so I can provide the best possible care and maintain consistency for your pet.
A typical day
For the pets I watch their daily activities are closely customized by what you think is best for them to do or not to do dependent on their age, energy level, and physical abilities. No matter what your pet enjoys doing the most at home inside or outside I will ensure their safety, happiness, and overall comfort.

Pet care experience
I have been passionately caring for dogs, cats, and horses since high school, building years of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds. I worked professionally as a dog walker and pet sitter for an Annapolis-based pet care company, providing reliable services to pet owners throughout Annapolis and Arnold. While attending college full time, I also worked as a barn assistant at a large horse boarding facility in Sandy Spring, where I gained extensive experience in daily horse care and stable management. After moving to Stevensville, I continued working as a barn assistant for two horse farms caring for multiple horses. My lifelong love for animals, combined with my professional experience, allows me to provide attentive, compassionate, and dependable care for both household pets and horses.

Reviews

Tucker was provided with great overnight care! Shannon was communicative and sent pics of our sweet boy while we were vacationing. She collected our mail and kept the house in great shape!

Shannon is a pleasure to deal with and it's clear that she loves animals. She was very communicative with messages and photos. I will definitely book Shannon again!
Shannon M. cancelled a booking 4 days before it was scheduled to begin.

Shannon was a great communicator both before and during her stay with Captain. She provided reassuring texts and photos while I was away. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again.
