The drive to the home is relaxing. A family member greets me at pickup and drop off before I reach their doorstep. Daphne (my dog) smiles on the way home and is tired out. Love the updates and photos too. They have been flexible with bad weather and a family emergency.

SHERRI IS AMAZING! She took my booking last minute and was SO attentive! She has a lovely dog Goro loved playing with and a fenced in yard but she also gave him walks which I thought was so amazing. 10/10 best Rovers experience I’ve had :)

Another good care giver day for our dog. It was a treat to see that Soraya now has a fenced in play area. Having other dogs to romp with is Hershey‘s favorite thing.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, currently have a rescue that is a Cur/Dalmatian mix. I fostered a German Shepherd and just found him his forever home! My previous pup was a pure bred red-nose pit! I work from home so am available for all needs! And yes, my dog does sleep on my bed! Lots of outdoor toys to tire them out! I have a fenced in yard and a “puppy pool” for those hot days! I live in a quiet neighborhood with an excellent dog walking route, even have a neighbor who put out dog treats in a mailbox for frequent walkers!

Maggie was incredibly accommodating and patient with me and last minute request. My husky loved playing with her Luna, and I love the idea of her being in a home instead of a concrete kennel. I also liked that her sons gave my pets attention while they were there. 100% would recommend Maggie to anyone!

About: I've had one or more dogs in my life since I was 6 years old. I currently have a senior red heeler that I rescued 8 years ago. Not only have I grown up taking care of my own dogs, as an adult I dog sit quite regularly for friends. I do work from home, which affords me the opportunity to take breaks to interact with and toilet my heeler and any other dog we have visiting, on their schedules. I work from home, so Monday thru Friday, I rarely leave my home, except to take the dog for walks. I may go away in the evenings, during the week, for a couple hours, but that's rare. I do tend to be more active on the weekends, doing my grocery shopping and running other errands, as well church on Sundays, and an occasional brunch. I do have a fenced in back yard as well as a senior red heeler (as stated earlier). My heeler doesn't really pay much attention to other dogs, and seems to prefer the company of humans. That being said, he gets along great with other dogs.

About: Hi, I’m Jacy! I provide reliable, insured dog boarding and daycare. I send regular detailed updates with tons of photos so you can know exactly how your baby is doing while you’re away. I strive to not only give your dog a fun, safe and comfortable place to stay, but also for you to feel comfortable and confident that your pet is being taken care of and having a good time while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages, including puppies, seniors, and special-needs pets. I treat every dog like family and strive to make their stay feel like a home away from home. For boarding and daycare, dogs must: • Be up to date on vaccinations — proof will be required before bookings are confirmed (Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis and Bordetella) • Be friendly with other dogs and cats • Be potty trained (or training if puppy) • Be comfortable being left alone for up to 2.5 hours (if needed) Flexible scheduling available—message me anytime. I’d love to meet you and your pup! AVAILABILITY: I work early mornings, allowing me to provide consistent care throughout the day. I'm available Tuesday–Saturday after 8:30am and fully available Sundays and Mondays. I require drop offs to be before 7pm to ensure all dogs in my care have time to get comfortable together and have a chance to burn energy before bedtime. I follow each dog’s routine closely, including feeding, exercise, and any special care needs, with safety always as my top priority. All dogs are fed in separate areas to avoid any food aggression and I keep dogs calm for 20-30 minutes after meals to avoid any possibility of bloat.

About: My son and I have experience volunteering at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, where we we trained in their method of teaching dogs commands and how to interpret dog body language and behavior. We are used to interacting with a variety of dog breeds and personalities from our experience at Mackenzies. We have experience fostering dogs through Lake Haven Animal Sanctuary (do not have any at this time and will update the bio if I accept another foster). As a family, we took two training classes through Petsmart with our dog Cooper, so we have recent experience training puppies. We lost our 14 year old pug/best friend, Dora, who required several medications and monitoring toward the end of her life. I am very used to attending to special needs and medication regimens of dogs. I work from home 100% of the time. If we leave home, it’s usually for a maximum of 3 hours at a time for my son’s soccer practice and I often bring the dogs to walk during that time. I am open to long term set schedules or for as needed care. I have a completely fenced backyard (6 foot privacy fence). My son and I are eager to love your pups and one canine member (Cooper - our 6 year old neutered male labradoodle) who is thrilled to interact with other dogs. Between playing with Cooper in the yard, going on a run or walk with me or playing fetch- your pup will be happy and exercised during their stay. There will almost always be one or more members of the household at home fighting over who will gets to cuddle with the doggies. Cooper is respectful of older dogs with lower activity levels and follows the lead of active puppies. He is very tolerant and gentle of all other pets he’s met and is just super excited to make friends and have play dates. I work 0-6 hours per day, depending on the day, but all from home. My dog always gets at least one walk per day. Typically, My son and I both take the dogs on walks and play fetch in the yard throughout the day. As of March 2026, my ability to walk the dogs has diminished greatly due to a herniated disc and subsequent knee buckling. Therefore, while I can provide snuggles all day, lap time while I work, time in the yard, I am not up to providing my usual walks. So for the time being, I am best suited for less energetic dogs/those with lower exercise requirements. I have a fenced yard and a well behaved 8 year old dog who has never met a dog he doesn’t like. We allow the dogs on our beds and couch.

I was visiting from out of state and only had a couple of days of notice but they were able to help. My 100lb Labrador was happier about going each day. I received regular photo and video updates of DJ socializing with other dogs and children. It appeared she had plenty to do and was definitely sleepy after. The whole family is very nice. Thank you!

About: Hello! Thank you for considering me for one of the most important roles in your pets life. I grew up with pets, volunteered at the humane society taking dogs out for runs, and now continue a life of advocacy for all animals! I currently work with both cat and dog rescues and pet sit often for friends and family. Having used pet sitting services before, I understand what it is like to put your trust in someone else - and will make you and your pet my number one priority. I will always ensure you receive updates and confirmation of the fun your pet is having. I look forward to connecting and spending time with your fur baby! I am a mom to an active toddler. We love getting outside as much as we can, and staying busy inside when the weather isn’t so inviting. We are in an apartment community that has safe sidewalks and lots of green areas (or snow!) for dogs to explore. We live on the second floor so your dog should be comfortable with stairs as well.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Whitneyville

Kristopher and Lisa were absolutely fantastic! They accepted a very last minute daycare request for a dog they had never even met, and from the very beginning they were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They even offered to let me stop by and see their home before I committed, which really spoke volumes about how much they genuinely care about the animals they watch. As a bit of a helicopter dog parent, I really appreciated the updates they sent throughout the day. They were quick to reassure me that Cinder was settling in well and having a great time, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, especially on such short notice. I would absolutely trust Kristopher and Lisa with Cinder again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable sitters!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 379 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Whitneyville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Whitneyville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 379 sitters in Whitneyville, 91% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
