“Kynzley always has fun with the other dogs and many stuffed toys to play with. I received pictures everyday while on our trip and she always looks like she’s having fun. When we get home, she is always exhausted from all the activities.”

“My fur baby looks so happy, spending time at the park, beach, and playing with the other fur friends. Loved receiving all the daily pictures throughout the day. My fur baby loves hugs, cuddles and he surely got his fill of attention and love. Definitely recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a sitter that will treat your fur baby like family. ❤”

“We couldn’t be happier with Natalia’s care of our fur baby! She took such great care of our golden retriever, gave his medication and provided daily updates including adorable photos and messages which gave us peace of mind while we were away. She even went the extra mile and washed his blanket prior to pickup. Our dog came back happy and clearly well loved. Thank you Natalia. We’ll definitely be booking again:)”

“Ace had a wonderful stay with Emma! She is so warm and kind. Loved that she sent a video of Ace and a photo right before bed. Totally eased my mind and was worry free about him. Will definitely have Ace stay with her again. :) Thank you Emma.”

“Kate was absolutely amazing. This was my first time leaving my dog with a pet sitter. I had a sitter that cancelled st the last minute and then I found Kate (I could not be happier.) Even though this was last minute Kate took the time to come meet me and my dog. She was wonderful with my dog. I was gone for eight days and I came home to a happy and healthy dog. I would highly recommend. Thank you again. Kate.”

“We had a great experience with Vanessa! She took wonderful care of Boba and gave us peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear her family genuinely cares about animals, and we really appreciated their reliability and attention to detail. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets, and we would happily book with them again!”

“Hugo had an amazing time. His first encounter to have a huge yard to play and explore. He definitely was spoiled. The family taking care of Hugo was awesome. They are trust worthy, under standing and accommodating . We also received daily updates and pics of Hugo’s progress which was really nice to get. We would definitely use them again and recommend his service .”

“Very good dog sitter , she was kept us updated on our dog and shared us many pictures of our dog 🙏🏽 10/10 my dog didn’t even want to come back home he had such a wonderful time 🙏🏽 thank you again for everything 🙏🏽”

“Kyrie was a fantastic sitter for our fur baby. She is kind and considerate! She made sure all of our "instructions" were followed and had a nice open yard. It was a perfect environment for pets. Kyrie took the time to send pictures or videos daily and even washed all personal belongings that we brought. They were cleaner than we left them! Our fur baby was clean, healthy and happy and that is the best a dog parent can ask for! Kyrie is the best sitter and I will keep booking her as long as she is available!”

“Thank goodness for Andrea, who helped with boarding Alika after my heart procedure. I asked for a last minute request and she was able to help with that as well. Alika came back a happy dog, which tells me he had a good stay with Andrea. Appreciate all her help with Alika. When she picked him up he did not hesitate to jump in her car. He really loves his time with her when she comes and walks him as well. I will definitely use Andrea again.”

“Regis and his family was great with my young pup Nobu. Nobu has never been away from me for 16 months. They ensured a safe and comfortable environment for him with day to day updates. He ensured that my pup was taken cared of. Nobu is an anxious pup being never separated from me but Annikan and Frito Lay welcomed him intro there home and showed him love. I highly recommend Regis for your pups care. His family is loving and friendly and I assure you your pup will have a great stay with them. Thanks again Regis and family!”

“Pei, what a professional. Our dog was in his care and we were so happy that we could go on a trip without having to worry about our dog that we love so very much. Pei communicated with us, and showed us how much knowledge he had with not only caring for our dog but what he offered as a dog trainer and dog whisperer. He met with us and our dog to ensure that we were all a fit to proceed with this interaction. I will forever take my dog to Pei anytime my family and I are out of town. He also let us know that we can utilize his skills to train our dog to be more balanced and this is exactly what we plan to do. Thank you Pei!!!”

“Shandri and Thomas took amazing care of my dog Koda while we were away. They treated him like family, asked great questions about his routine, and kept him busy with outings and activity so he felt comfortable and at home. We also received daily photo updates which gave us great peace of mind. Overall it was a great boarding experience and I would absolutely book with them again.”

About: I’ve only had dogs as my pets for the last 9 years. I have a yorkie. I watch and learn from the little experience I have what works and what doesn’t. That’s all I can do. I am currently a student M-F (online) mostly in the evenings. My weekend usually includes being around the house Friday-Sunday. I am mostly a homebody. I have a fence in yard for run and play and time indoors that is hazard free and cordoned off from the stairs/2nd floor. My neighborhood is a very safe area to take dogs for a walk.
“I can’t say enough great things about Madison! She is a lifesaver!!! The sitter I currently had booked cancelled on me at the last minute and Madison came to the rescue. She was able to care for 3, and again I will say 3 of my dogs at the last minute. No words can express how truly grateful I am to her as I had a trip booked for my family. She is so sweet and you could tell that she loves animals!!! I trusted her from the get go even though we didn’t do a meet and greet. She also sent me daily pictures/updates. I knew my babies were in great hands!!! I would definitely book with her again!!! If you’re looking for someone to take great care of your dogs, she is your girl! Highly recommend!!!!”

“Charlene met me at designated pick up spot at designated time. She took great care of our elderly pooch for 3 days. My son then picked up our Nala at designated spot. So convenient and awesome job!”

About: 45 Years of Loving Dog Care 🐾 Aloha! My name is Verna, and I bring 45 years of experience caring for dogs, along with a lifetime of love for them. Although I’m new to Rover, caring for dogs has been an important part of my life for decades. I specialize in dachshunds and small-breed dogs weighing 15 pounds or less, and I have a special place in my heart for senior pets. I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs living with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), congestive heart failure, canine cognitive dysfunction (canine dementia), and vestibular disease. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, gentle handling, consistent routines, and paying close attention to each dog’s comfort and changing needs. I understand that every dog has their own personality and pace. Whether your little one enjoys playtime, gentle companionship, or a cozy place to rest, I’ll take the time to learn what helps them feel comfortable and loved. Following your care instructions and veterinarian’s guidance is a priority for me, along with keeping you updated through photos and messages. I work in an emergency room, and my husband and I coordinate our schedules so someone is always home to provide loving care for your pet. Your little one will have companionship, attention, and a consistent routine. We’ll follow their usual feeding, potty, and rest schedules to help them feel comfortable and at home. Our home offers a loving environment with a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time and potty breaks. With my experience caring for dachshunds, small dogs, and seniors, I’m attentive to gentle handling, mobility needs, and each pet’s comfort. I follow your care instructions and familiar routines, taking time to learn about your dog’s needs and preferences.
“We had the best experience with Megan and her family taking care of our pup Margo! Margo got plenty of exercise and care while we were out of town. Megan was super communicative and flexible.”

“We had a great experience! She took wonderful care of Bear while we were away and kept us updated with messages and pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was attentive, communicative, and genuinely cared about making sure he was comfortable. Even with him being a little shy at first, she was patient and helped him settle in. We came home to a happy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!”

After Kate helped with walking my boy, I had a boarding need that I immediately asked her first about. She sent me daily cuddle and walk pictures with her pupper. Updates about how his overall mood was and was even worried when he didn’t eat his dinner one night. Kate an animal lover through and through and so attentive. Thanks Kate!

From the first encounter I can tell Jackson was a good foot to watch our dog melly. She sniffed and greeted him as if she's already met him before. While she was in his care Jackson would give daily updates on how melly was doing and sent us pictures and I can tell she was having a great time on her staycation. Will definitely be rebooking again in the near future and will recommend him to anyone who needs a pet sitter. Thank you!

Johenid was great. She took care of our two doggies and they looked very comfortable when she sent her daily pics or video. Getting on base was a bit of a hassle but it was worth it to know that my dogs were in good hands. Communication was prompt and clear. I would book Jonehid again.

Natalia is a very confident, calm and experienced animal person that we were so grateful to book! :) This is the first time in a long time we have found someone to watch our 11 year old GSD who isn’t a fan of other dogs and who is particular about people. He genuinely seemed at home, happy and relaxed with Natalia through her daily photos and updates. Doing tricks, going on walks, playing with his toys, comfortably relaxing on his bed. We were on a trip for two weeks and not one day were we anxious or concerned about anything. Natalia is a dream sitter!

Dear Maile/‘Ohana, Thank you so much for taking care of our Vinna/Kapocho & sending pics of them, we felt comforted by your thoughtfulness . And athough they were happy to see us when we pu them, they looked like they wanted to stay longer☺️💖. We’ll definitely call you folks again. Much Mahalo, take care, God Bless you all🙏🏽☝🏽✝️🐶💞 Elton/Berlyn

We had a great experience with Princess watching our two dogs! She was super friendly, communicative, and clearly cared about our pets. She sent frequent updates and lots of pictures while we were away, which gave us a ton of peace of mind. Our dogs looked happy, comfortable, and well taken care of the entire time. We would absolutely trust Princess again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Whitmore Village home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Whitmore Village.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Whitmore Village sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
