“Thank you, thank you! Because of you I was able to go out of town for a much needed day trip to visit my daughters and an aunt without the worry of having to rush home to take care of Zeus. It’s been a very stressful few weeks. You’ve been great to work with and hope to call on you again.”

“Emily was awesome! I was super nervous because I had never had someone watch my dog before but she took great care of my high energy dog while I was gone. Will definitely schedule again sometime!”

“Tori was caring and good to my dogs while I was across the country. She would send cute photos of my fur babies having fun. I am already booking her again for my August 2nd travels!”
“Christina did a great job watching our two cats while we were out of town. She was responsible and attentive, we had one small hiccup with our lock box key but she was patient and willing to be flexible for us while we figured out how to get her a new key. We will definitely keep Christina in mind for future visits!”

“Imani is amazing! I recently moved from Portland to Vancouver and have 2 diabetic dogs so they have to be on a regular feeding schedule and require insulin. It is difficult finding someone who is experienced giving injections and who my dogs like. During our meet and greet my dogs loved her and I felt comfortable having her give them their shot. On the Drop in she was great, sent pictures and when I got home they were happy and their blood sugar was great.”

About: I’m a veterinary technologist who has been working in human medicine for the past decade. I miss caring for and interacting with all my four legged friends. I grew up with all sorts of pets( horses, dogs, cats, fish, chickens, parakeets, reptiles) and have always been an “animal” person. I am comfortable giving medications and I am very detail oriented. I have been described as responsible, reliable, and respectful. I know hard it can be to leave your furry family member with someone new. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and health would be my top priority. I would love to meet your dog or cat(or horse,or chickens,or livestock, or reptiles!) and love them like my own(who aren’t spoiled at all ;) ) I currently work part time, so I would have plenty of time to make sure your pet is properly cared for daily. I do not work on the weekends and would be happy to walk or play with your dog/cat all weekend. I am quick to respond to any potential issues that may arise in the moment. I am keen on reading pets behaviors and body language and can act appropriately. I am very responsible and respectful not only of your pets, but of your space as well.

About: I'm a stay at home mom, both 2 and 4 legged kids, you can find me on Facebook Angel Marquez My personal dogs are big and little. I have also been fostering for local rescues for 10yrs. My dogs are spoiled because their love n support is unconditional. I own our house, front fenced yard with room to run and play with a doggy pool to cool off in too. I have a doggy door so dogs are free to come in and out all day. My dogs are use to us fostering so they do well with other dogs in our home. Some have called my love for dogs an obsession, I'm perfectly happy being the crazy dog lady!! In 10 years I see myself having a piece of land with 20 dogs of all breeds and sizes.
“Pakuna was super reliable and kind to my cats and dogs. She sent regular updates and pictures. Extremely trustworthy, dependable, sweet, and most importantly kind and competent with animals. Pakuna is highly recommended. I wish I could give more than 5 stars ✨⭐🌟✨”

“Vanessa went above and beyond for us and our kitties 🐱 We initially had a mishap with our smart lock (an issue on our end) and she went out of her way to help us problem solve and make sure our boys were taken care of. She gives in depth updates and pictures each visit and follows any directions to a t. You can be sure with Vanessa your fur babies will be taken care of and loved on 😊”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for over 15 years and grew up helping establish and run a local animal rescue on our family’s property. From a young age, I was involved in daily care, intake, and working with dogs of all temperaments before leaving for the military at 19. Today, I share my home with multiple dogs of my own and understand how important structure, supervision, and thoughtful introductions are in a multi-dog environment. I’m currently completing a professional dog training certification, so I bring a behavior-aware, training-informed approach to every stay (though I don’t offer formal training through Rover). I’m especially comfortable with large breeds, working breeds, and higher-energy personalities. Your dog will have predictable routines, supervised interaction, enrichment, and a calm, well-managed home environment. Pet care is part of my daily routine. I’m home frequently throughout the day and my schedule allows for consistent supervision, structured exercise, and enrichment. Boarding dogs are integrated thoughtfully into our routine with predictable rest, activity, and downtime. I live on rural property with a securely fenced yard, separate fenced field, and manage a structured multi-dog household. Dogs are introduced thoughtfully and supervised during interactions. I prioritize calm energy, clear boundaries, and safe management at all times. Crating is available if needed for rest, safety, or owner preference. I follow each dog’s routine closely and am comfortable managing large breeds, working breeds, and higher-energy personalities. Your dog’s physical safety and emotional comfort are my top priorities.
About: I have been pet sitting and volunteering since I was 10. I have worked with shy dogs, reactive dogs, overly friendly dogs, puppies, anything you can think of. I also work with cats, even the ones who are not fans of visitors. I’ve gone through vet tech school and I have a lot of experience in training as well. I am very patient and work with your wants and needs. I have experience administering medication and can work with most needs, just ask! :) **I can accept dogs who don’t get along with others, just let me know. My dogs are crate trained and I can keep them seperate.** I am available at almost anytime of any day. Pet sitting is my passion and currently my only job, and when I am working I still make sure that your pet can be my priority. I can work with whatever environment you have. Apartment, large home with yard, there are so many ways to still interact and tire out your pup :)
“Emily did a great job with Yoshi. She followed my instructions I left to the t, and Yoshi really loved the time he spent with her. I have a pet cube and I checked in with him after he left once or twice and he would be sitting by the door hoping she would come back. That is not something my cat normally does. The day after getting back my cat woke me up to be fed at the same time that Emily fed him and when I went out to feed him he was sitting in front of the door waiting for Emily to come. I can't think of a better recommendation than that.”

“Alyssa went above and beyond what we asked her to do. She was flexible and accommodating. She was available on short notice, wonderful with our pets and respectful of our home. I would 100% recommend her to anyone in need of care for their animals.”

About: Hello! Animals are my passion and have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up taking care of a working ranch and was riding before I could walk. I have experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, amphibians, birds, horses, and livestock animals as well as some exotic animals. Through school, I did a lot of pet sitting regularly for neighbors and friends around the valley so I am familiar with caring for pets who require special care. When I got into college, I went to school for veterinary medicine but due to life circumstances, I had to begin pursuing another career. Now, I am working as a dog trainer with a good understanding of animals and some veterinary knowledge to help along the way. If you ever need help with dog training, just ask! While I am caring for your pet(s), I will play with them, take dogs on walks as the weather allows, and make sure your pets feel loved while their parents are away. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible and look forward to meeting you soon! I currently work evenings and my partners work mornings so one of us will always be available to stay with your critters. I am very flexible and organized so any pets we watch blends right into our routine like they're our own. I am willing to work with you to make sure your pet can stay on the routine they are used to and feel loved while they are away from you to help limit their stress. I, with your permission, will provide daily walks for dogs, exercise, and entertainment. I have experience with animals that require special care and I am familiar with giving them medication. I will play with cats and can teach tricks to both cats and dogs. I will use any treats and toys provided to avoid any possible allergic reactions and your pets will be treated like a part of our family when in my care.
“Emily is so great with our dogs and was recently so patient with us too when we made her life harder by misplacing the hidden key! She went and picked up another key from a friend and was able to care for our dogs. She went above and beyond for us and we couldn’t be more grateful!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Whitaker
We’ve had Raina care for our animals for almost a year now, and she is the only person we trust when we’re out of town. She is incredibly reliable, communicative, and truly goes above and beyond every single time. She always sends lots of pictures during each visit, keeps us updated, and makes sure she has everything she needs ahead of time. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing our pets are not only cared for, but genuinely loved. Raina makes sure all our fur babies get plenty of playtime, attention, and care, and treats them as if they were her own. That level of trust is hard to find. We are so grateful to have someone we can consistently rely on. Thank you so much for everything you do Raina! We appreciate you more than you know.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 513 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Whitaker. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitaker. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
