“I couldn’t be happier with the care Tara provided for my husky, Rocky! Huskies can be a handful, but she handled him perfectly — keeping him exercised, happy, and well-loved while she was boarding him. She sent regular updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I picked him up, Rocky was calm, clean, and clearly well cared for.”

“We are so grateful to Elisa, Jim, and their son for taking such wonderful care of our pup while we were away for over two weeks. Since he was only 4 months old, we were extremely anxious about leaving him at such a young age. However, Elisa’s daily photos, updates, and sweet messages quickly put our minds at ease and allowed us to fully enjoy our trip. They showered our pup with love, treated him like family, and ensured he was happy and well cared for every day. They are kind, reliable, trustworthy, and excellent communicators. We highly recommend them to any pet parent!”

“Tamara was amazing with our Autumn and so attentive. She communicated with us while we were away and made sure Autumn was comfortable and well cared for. We will definitely be using her amazing services again.”

“Anahita was a life saver for me this past weekend. She was able to care for Sammy with last minute notice, which I really appreciated. I like the fact that she has other dogs because Sammy is very social and likes to play with other dogs. Apparently he got along with her dogs just fine and that makes me happy. He needed some socialization. She sent photos throughout Sammy’s stay in her home. When I picked Sammy up the next day, he seemed very calm and relaxed. He was pretty calm the rest of the evening which was great. I expected a little anxiety when I returned but Sammy seemed peaceful on the drive back home. I think that Anahita’s calm, caring and peaceful personality played a huge part. I appreciate that so much. She pays attention to details that are important to the dog for a successful stay, but is not overly anxious. Thank you so much, Anahita, for caring for Sammy for me. I was able to relax and have a great overnight trip without worrying about Sammy! We will be repeat customers for sure!”

“Vidhi did a wonderful job taking care of Buddy. Communication was smooth throughout his stay, and she sent daily pictures, which gave me peace of mind. I also loved that she also has a mini Goldendoodle, so Buddy had a buddy to keep him company! He looked very comfortable and happy in her home. I would definitely recommend Vidhi, and I have booked her again for next weekend.”

“My dogs Huey & Edward had a great time with Alicia & her boys. So happy to have found a great rover near me that I can trust with my dogs! She gave them great exercise & so much love.”

“Samantha was absolutely amazing! She has a love for dogs that was immediately obvious by the way she interacted with my dog Maestro. I received frequent updates with heart warming pictures and felt connected the entire time. I would 100% recommend and will be rebooking Samantha for any future needs.”

“Renee was amazing ! She has my 9 year old english bulldog for a week and was very communicative with pics etc to keep me updated ! My dog was very happy while there. We will definitely use renee again!”

“Adrienne took great care of our dog Rosie! She was very responsive and sent us daily updates, pictures and a video. Adrienne's dog Cooper and Rosie had fun playing together. We will definitely book Adrienne again. Simon and Roberta”

“Laura is amazing! I screwed up on the booking date for my trip. She was very helpful in still caring for my dog at my house and making sure she went on long walks. She communicated well and made sure I received pictures of the animals. I cannot express enough how much I appreciated her working with me and making my out of town trip with the family enjoyable knowing our dog was in good hands.”

“Traci does such a great job dog sitting my 11yr old fur baby. She knows what it takes to make my dog feel comfortable and welcome. She also sends photos or videos of my dog on walks. I definitely recommend booking her!”

“Our ageing dog was in amazing care with plenty of time to socialize and attention to specific care instructions. Everything went perfect. Thank you Kathryn and all of your amazing helpers. 💛👏👏”

“both of our dogs seemed well cared for. His property has plenty of space for the dogs to run and he took them for walks in the woods, which I’m sure they enjoyed. I would consider boarding our dogs with him again.”

“Nat &Ally are amazing, this is by far the best Rover service that I ever had and I have been using Rovers for more than 3 years. They are very attentive, they do a meeting before the drop off day, they truly want to make sure my furbaby will feel welcome and safe. They asked all the right questions, food, timing, snacks, what is he allowed or not to do and so on. They have a backyard which is great for my chocolate lab to play and they have a playful dog that was perfect for Rocco. We even got a drawing from Rocco, from one of the kids, that made me cry…Happy cry! They are all super sweet. Love their vibe and respect. I recommend them 100%. I would be looking forward to work with them more often.”

“Mila loved staying with Joel and Janelle! She came home so happy and healthy. I loved the communication and flexibility they provided, and all the pictures they sent during her stay!”

“Robert and Dina were absolutely amazing with my dog Colbie! They took her on several walks each day and sent lots of photos of Colbie to keep me updated on their adventures! They were also very accommodating with drop off and pick up time especially since my flight was really delayed coming back from my trip. I am so happy to have found such a reliable person to watch my dog and I know she will always be taken care of with Robert and Dina!”

“Terri was amazing. So chill and relaxed around our sensitive dog. She is one of those rare sitters that does not have her own dogs or cats and is 100% dedicated to yours. She has a house and yard that are peaceful and quiet and in a great neighborhood for interesting walks. I would 100% recommend Terri, she is an absolute gem.”

“Liane was awesome! I felt like my dog was part of her family while I was away. She sent me daily updates with pics of Olive. Olive got plenty of walks and attention, I was was so happy to have my dog stay with Liane. If I ever need a sitter again I will definitely be calling Liane.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wheatland
We’re so glad we found Tara! She was absolutely wonderful with our furry family member during his 4-day stay. Tara and her husband treated him like their own, making sure he got plenty of walks, playtime, love, and pampering. It was such a relief knowing he was in such caring hands. He came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of! A heartfelt thank you to both Tara and her husband for going above and beyond. We truly appreciate their kindness and care and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a loving home away from home for their pet! ❤️🐾

Tara was absolutely phenomenal and would highly recommend her services. As a German shepherd owner, we are hesitant leaving our pup with just anyone as our Bailey can sometimes be anxious or skiddish around new people. Tara is very thorough and the pictures and updates she sends were extremely reassuring. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
