I’m home on the weekends and Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays at the moment. Hope to have more days at home in the future. I love a few breaks from work to walk the yard with the dogs. We love a long walk before dinner and play time afterwards. I ask for 1 week notice just to allow time for a meet and great with our dog. I need to make sure he’ll be safe. But if needed, reach out in less time and we can see if it will work out. I usually only take one dog at a time but would make exceptions for multiple dogs from the same home. Your dog will be treated just like our boy. Lots of pets and scritches, play, extra love if they are sad. We have a pool and your pup is welcome in it when open. We have an auto safety cover and a winter safety cover so no worries about accidental falls into the water.

Let me know your dogs schedule and any special requests. As long as your dog loves other dogs (like our boy) things will be great.
A typical day
We can do what the dog likes. I have trained my dog to do lots of tricks, including fetch and play dead. We can spend time in the yard on the obstacle course or playing chase. Butcher loves tug. But this is how it has gone in the past: wake up at 7 am (because that is when Butchers stomach growls), breakfast, bathroom break, then play time. Dogs love our basement because it is open and carpeted. Wrestling if your dog likes that sort of thing (Butcher loves it, but is ok if the other doggy says no). Then morning naps. Out back whenever desired. Diner is around 5. We either go for a long walk before or after diner depending on the time of year. If your pup is good on a leash and in the car then we might walk the trail in Purcellville. More yard or basement play. Then snuggles in bed. Most dogs sleep wherever they like. Then do it all again the next day.

Celebrating almost a year with Rover. Updating some profile info to give you a better sense of a typical day here. I've come to love every dog who has stayed with us. As an adult, my husband and I adopted our dog in 2022. I’m a patient pet owner and know what it is like to worry and miss your pup. At our house, your dog will be one of the family.

We left our dog Mango with Tara for boarding and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and attention goes into every dog’s stay. Tara was warm, communicative, and genuinely loving toward our pup, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We received updates and photos that showed our dog happy, relaxed, and well cared for. The space was clean, safe, and thoughtfully set up for comfort and play. When we picked our dog up, she was calm, healthy, and clearly had a great time!! It’s not easy trusting someone with your pet, but this place truly exceeded expectations. We’ll absolutely be coming back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, caring boarding experience. 💕
Leia loved being with Tara! We received pics and reports regularly on her stay which was very conforting since it was her first visit. There is a totally fenced back yard for security. I would recommend Tara to anyone considering daycare/boarding.
