“We're grateful we found Stephen! He came to our hotel to pet sit, putting our dog immediately at ease. By the time we got back, they were best buds. Highly, 100% recommend.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for years everything from energetic puppies to gentle seniors. Whether it’s a long walk, a quick drop-in, or cuddles and feeding time, I treat every pet like my own. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, happy, and cared for while you’re in need Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine! I start most mornings with a workout or walk, so adding pet walks or drop-ins during the day fits perfectly. My work schedule is flexible, which allows me to check in on pets throughout the day and evening. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your routines closely feeding schedules, walk routes, and house rules to make sure your pet feels secure and stress free. I take time to earn their trust with calm energy, patience, and plenty of affection.
“We felt really good about leaving our home and pets in the care of Brenna when we went away for the weekend. She did a great job and our 3 cats, dog and fish were all happy and well cared for. We would highly recommend her!”

“Sarah did an excellent job house/pet sitting us! She is very responsible and communicates well. It was nice getting surprise photos as well!! We definitely recommend her and would gladly use her again...”

“J. Paul was such a pleasure to work with. He seemed to understand the special needs of an anxious dog and did everything we asked of him with pearl. We came home to a dog that didn’t seem to be bothered in the least that we had left. That’s exactly what we wanted. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone who is concerned about dogs with anxiousness or other needs that come with a rescue pet.”

About: Hey there! My name is Emily and I am a recent grad who has moved back to the area. I have always been an animal lover, and during grad school, I was able to broaden my animal care experiences! I am a dog mom to a German Shepherd named Gemma. She is a rescue and dog-reactive (but loves all people!), so I have extensive experience with walking and handling reactive dogs! Rest assured, when I care for your pets, Gemma will NOT be present. I was an avid foster and volunteer while in grad school for organizations such as Big Paws of the Ozarks, Fayetteville Animal Services, and Best Friends Resource Center. We have had fosters of a variety of ages and breeds. Additionally, I spent most of my Saturdays at the local farmers market with an adoptable shelter pup working on socialization and leash skills with fellow volunteers. Lastly, before moving, I was also a part-time employee at a pet resort that offered daycare, boarding, and grooming services. Hereto, I was able to care for even more dogs (and even some cats!). I am passionate about animal care and would love to take care of your pets, whether it be for walks, check-ins, or house sitting. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I am happy to chat :) I am currently located around the 19464/19343 area. Note: I am able to do check-in visits for cats and hang out for a bit, but cannot house sit because I am allergic. As a recent grad on the job market, I have a ton of free time to take care of your pets! Whether it be morning, midday, or evening walks or check-ins, I’m your gal! In your home, whether it be for a walk, check-in, or housesitting, I am happy to follow any rules that you have in mind! Since I am used to walking a reactive dog, I am extremely observant on walks for anything that might trigger a reaction.
“Chelsea took fantastic care of our two dogs! She was punctual, communicative, and left the house just as she found it. I appreciated the many pictures we received during her stay with the dogs and I was confident in her ability to take great care of them. Would not hesitate to book Chelsea again the next time we are away!”

“Meghan house/dog sat for us over the 4th of July holiday weekend. She was great with our energetic, large dog! She was flexible with our timing and gave us updates on how he was doing through fireworks and summer storms.”

“Brady was fantastic. He communicated with us throughout our entire trip letting us know how Holly was doing and making she we knew she was happy and well cared for. He took care of and respected our home. We would not hesitate to have him back!”

“Evangeline was terrific! She watched over our home and our beloved Airedale, Archie, like he was her very own. Stayed in contact and handled the little things that popped up. A terrific lady and and all-pro service!”

About: I have 4 little dogs that I’ve helped to take care of since I was little! This includes being left at home for full weekends making sure they are fed, medicated, let outside, and of course loved! I also have some experience with taking care of cats although I’ve only ever had barn cats. There are a few weeks during the summer that I wouldn’t be able to do. These would be June 1st, June 22-June 26, June 29-July 10, and July 13-July 24. Other than that I can start as soon as May 25! I’m very friendly with animals and would be fine with feeding, walking, bathing, medicating, etc. All I ask for is detailed instructions of what to do!
“One of the hardest things about having pets is caring for them when we’re not able to. There’s just so much to worry about and too many nuanced details to convey to a house/dog sitter that it’s tough to be at ease. I’ll admit that I’m a little high-strung and using Rover for the first time for this service was not an easy decision. Fast forward to today…Heather is an absolute pro. You immediately get that she’s very experienced and respectful of your unique situation. She asks all the right questions and is an excellent communicator. Honestly could go on and on, but needless to say, we’re super pleased and I think found the high-mark on our very first try. We are already scheduled to see her again this summer and it’ll be the first time that I won’t worry about our dogs or home. Thanks Heather!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Westwood
Stephen is a top notch dog sitter for our energetic Vizsla, Griffin. He understands Griffin's need for activity, taking him on daily walks and playing in the yard with him multiple times a day. He also understands Griffin's "velcro Vizsla" personality, and gives him lots of love and snuggles. Stephen keeps us posted daily while staying with Griffin, sending thoughtful updates and pictures, which brings a smile to our faces knowing that Griffin is happy and loved while we're away. Stephen also takes good care of the home while we're away, cleaning up after himself and Griffin, so we don't even feel like someone was staying there when we return home. 5 of 5 stars!

Chelsea stayed in my home with my two senior cats and senior dog for two nights and was a dream! She was very communicative, sent great updates, treated my furbabies like they were her own, and left my home in great shape. I so appreciated her care and effort for my pets and I definitely recommend her services to anyone seeking a reliable and caring pet sitter. I’ll certainly be booking Chelsea again in the future!

FAQs for House Sitting - Westwood
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 4,512 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westwood. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
