About: I have been in the pet industry for 15+ years including veterinary, retail and boarding. I also did house and pet sitting for a good friend of mine many times. I have worked in the petcare industry for more that 15 years. Most of it as a retail manager. I've done veterinary and boarding jobs also. I'm ready to basically become my own boss and do what I really love. I am a full-time homemaker but would love to include your pets in my everyday activities! ***Please be aware that sometimes I will accept multiple jobs at once*** I have fur babies and scale babies of my own. This includes 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 tree frogs, 2 leopard geckos, 1 hamster and multiple fish. They are not only my hobby but part of my family. My dog and cats are allowed on furniture so they can cuddle with us.

Sydney is so good with our Enzo! She’s attentive to how he’s feeling on the walk (which is key with the heat and his puppy age), what training we’re working on (she reinforces what we’re focusing on), and making sure he has a great time. She’s our go to!

About: I am an experienced pet caregiver based near the Smith Mountain Lake area. I have hands-on experience caring for a variety of dogs, including large breeds, and am comfortable administering oral medications, providing bathing and basic grooming care, and handling dogs with different temperaments and needs. My experience comes from both personal and professional care. I have cared for my own dogs, as well as my parents’ and sister’s dogs, giving me regular, real-world experience with daily routines, exercise, feeding schedules, and overall pet wellbeing. Professionally, I have worked at a dog kennel where I was responsible for feeding, bathing, and supervising dogs in group play settings while ensuring safety and appropriate behavior. I also worked as a bather at a pet store, where I gained experience handling dogs during grooming-related services and maintaining their comfort throughout the process. I take pride in providing reliable, attentive care and treating every pet as if they were my own. I'm currently an aspiring Graphic Designer who just graduated from JMU. I am back home in the area for a while and looking to gain some clients while I’m there. I am willing to travel to your home to dog sit and give your dog the best care that I can while your gone. By taking your dog to potty, feeding and giving extra love.

I can’t say enough good things about Kaylyn B. She is always on time and keeps me posted if thing’s change. She is very easy to talk to and she treats my dog as if she is the best thing on the planet. My dog really likes her too. She greets her at the door with an excited bark and tail wagging. We are blessed to have her. I would highly recommend her to anyone, Mary

About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years and have a lifelong love for animals. As a dog owner myself with two dogs at home, I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets the same way you do. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, administering basic medications, potty breaks, exercise, and providing plenty of attention and affection. I also know how reassuring it is to receive updates, so I’ll send photos and messages throughout your pet’s stay or visit to give you peace of mind. My goal is to create a fun, safe, and stress-free experience for both you and your pet. I treat every animal as if they were my own, and I can’t wait to meet your furry family members! I currently do work full time but I do create my own schedule and am pretty flexible so we can work around the hours needed for you and your pet! I do currently have two male dogs who are 8 and 9 years old. They both are very friendly and very playful. They play with puppies and older dogs very well and they’re very diverse with sizes of dogs who they are around. If your dog is aggressive to other male dogs, this won’t be a good fit for you. However, i’m happy to have an introduction to make sure everyone is comfortable. We tend to take a lot of walks and play ball in the yard throughout the day. During the summer we swim in the pop up pool we have for the boys and get the zooms out!

Jessica has been a wonderful caretaker & companion to our sweet, old dogs. I would definitely recommend her to my family, friends, & co-workers for their pet care needs. Jessica was so nice to meet us prior to booking her services & sent pictures of her visit, as well as bring our sweet boys a treat or two. Our dogs usually have terrible separation anxiety & stop eating, yet with Jessica's help they didn't miss a meal, a belly rub, a treat, or a walk. Thank you so much Jessica for taking such good care of our furry family members! We appreciate you.

About: I am a caring and dependable pet sitter who has always loved animals. I have my own dog who I love and care for very much, so I understand how important pets are to their families. I also previously worked at a dog kennel, where I gained experience feeding, bathing, cleaning up after, and caring for dogs of all different sizes and personalities. I would treat your pets with the same love and care I give my own. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine because I take care of my own dog and cat at home. Every day I make sure they are fed, have fresh water, and get the attention they need. I also walk my dog and spend time playing with both of them so they stay active and happy. Because I’m used to doing this regularly, taking care of other pets fits naturally into my weekly schedule. I care for pets by making sure they are safe, comfortable, and well taken care of while their owner is away. I follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, walking, playtime, and any other needs the pet may have. I also give pets attention and patience so they feel calm and cared for. When caring for a client’s home, I treat it with respect by keeping things clean, locking doors, and making sure everything is left the way I found it. My goal is to make both the pets and their owners feel comfortable and confident in my care.

I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available most days of the week, including weekends. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, walks, and playtime throughout the day. About: Hi there! My name is Ashtyn! My whole life has been filled with animals! Growing up, I had a Yellow Lab, Dawson, and Maine Coon, Zeke. Sadly, they went to doggy and kitty heaven when I was around 10🥺 In November of 2023, I lost my sweet Treeing-Walker Coonhound named, Maverick. He was as feisty as they come! Now, my boyfriend & I spend our time loving on his pup, Bella, a Pitbull/Alaskan Malamute mix. Although I got connected on Rover in 2023, I have taken care of all different dog breeds from small to large over the past 6 years. Many of them have been in this area, while some were down in West Palm Beach, Florida when I lived there! I have several families that I house and dog sit for regularly! Since I am in my Senior year of college, spending quality time and providing the proper care for your pups or cats will not be an issue! Dog-sitting is my method of income, currently. Therefore, I am available almost every day! ◡̈ I prefer to care for your pet in the home that they are used to! That being said, I can stay at your home overnight, just during the day, or come over intermittently for walks!

About: I have had the pleasure to take care of animals my whole life. After going to boot camp I realized how much animals actually give you peace of mind on a daily basis and I have taken care of neighbors animals and family ever since. I have plenty of space for animals of all sizes and a fenced in yard for dogs who need to run. I love to go on walks as I am very active and have to keep my 2 mile up always. I am also very patient for kitties who just want to lay around and sleep. If given the opportunity I would love to spend my time with the animals you love. I am in the national guard so I work 1 weekend a month and the rest is free! I am currently trying to make animal sitting an everyday thing so I can work out any times needed. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of space inside as well. I have a doggy door for smaller dogs but I can let the bigger ones out just as easily. I do have a cat that is very friendly but she can go in my room if needed. There is room in my house to play and room for an animal to be alone if they wanted or needed

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
