I currently work part time from 10:30-5 3 days a week so I’m available to help with your animals before work or right after work I can also pet sit in my home and they would have free range of our house Our pets in our home have always been free to do what they please our house is wide open with a fenced in back yard that has a screen door that they can access to go out when they please .

“Thank you so much for looking after Millie! Krista did a great job taking care of my cat while I was away. She was able to make friends with a cat that can be difficult to befriend! Thanks!”

“Jen and John provided wonderful care for Scully during their drop-in visits with her. Their notes and pictures were a huge comfort while I was away to know that she was in great hands!”

About: My life has included dogs for as long I can remember and I have always seemed to read them intuitively, including “problem dogs” that others have difficulty interacting with. I have extensive personal dog handling and grooming experience over the past 25 years and have owned up to 6 dogs at a time. I currently have a 10 year old Chihuahua-mix named Kitty but I have experience training and caring for Border Collies, American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Wire Fox Terriers, Poodle mixes, Great Danes, and a Wolf-German Shepherd hybrid. I am knowledgeable about canine body language and how to remain calm around anxious/fearful/aggressive dogs as well as how to redirect dogs from potential conflicts. I own and operate an event-services business which runs primarily on the weekends, allowing me to offer dog care Monday through Friday and on certain weekends as available. I am able to care for dogs according to their owner’s needs and requests. This may include administering medication, changing diapers, feeding, walking or just spending time with.
“Kami was very accommodating with my last minute request for a drop-in visit the next day. She arrived promptly and sent an adorable picture of my little ones who looked very content with their new friend. I will reach out to Kami again for future needs.”

“Quinn was wonderful! She sent pictures and kept me informed about how my dogs were doing. I think my three dogs were actually disappointed when I came through the door instead of Quinn! Definitely would have her dog sit again!”

“Alison was great checking in on my cat while I was away for a few days. She was excellent in her communication and giving me updates on how he was doing, and I felt like he was in great hands. I will definitely be using her again next time he needs watching.”

“Thank you Emily for taking such good care of Nala while we were away for a day trip. Your visits were right on time and just what Nala needed to keep her happy for the day. I also appreciated the check ins and photos you sent throughout the day. She also brought in a package that was delivered while we were gone. Thanks so much!”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was 3 years old, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I have hands on experience with large breeds and am confident handling bigger dogs with different energy levels. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and understand the importance of patience, comfort as they age. I put a lot of love and care into every pet I watch. I know how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby, so I treat every dog as if they were my own. Making sure they feel safe, loved, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work full time but have a flexible schedule where I work from home somedays. My partner also works 5 minutes from our house and is able to help with potty breaks during the day. We spend a lot of time in our yard or walking the canal on nice days and would love a wagging tail to join us. We have a fenced in yard and live in a quiet neighborhood to go on walks. We love to go to the canal and spend time outside. We have a fully finished basement with mini splits and air circulation system, perfect for any size dog to enjoy!

About: Had a 5 month old pup at aged 9 (also had a dominant cat) taught her basics and more over time until she needed medication due to her old age. Looked after friends senior dog which needed meds with food and their other dog that had special dietary needs including medication 3 times a day. House and dog&cat sat for friends that would go away to France for a long weekends I have plenty of time to give care and attention. I am not working at the moment and in between job maybe this is my calling we have a lot of space in the home and in the yard. We do not have any of our own pets yet, but we are talking a lot about them. We have a large 4ft fenced in grass yard and a large basement to allow for off leash freedom to play regardless of weather. Over the back fence we have active cranberry bogs with loads of open space and smells perfect for long walks. I am a fast walker and happy to cover 3-5 miles on a walk. Any fur-babies that need to stay overnight will be looked after like they are my own. I’ll send lots of pictures and make sure your pet is comfortable with as much attention as it needs.

About: I have many years of pet sitting experience as well as three dogs myself. I am training my second service dog (who will not accompany me while I work… don’t worry!) as well as dabbling in the AKC show and sport world. and this summer I will be enrolling in a vet assistant certification program! I have both owned and cared for every size, from XL to XS. truly nothing scares me… medical needs, reactivity, a pet who needs some extra time and care to adjust, or your average golden who loves everyone! There are very few pets i am not comfortable with… and I prioritize honesty and safety above all else. early mornings and late nights work best for me! I am free most weekends and will always try and be as flexible and honest as possible. In a clients home, I will always ask as many questions as needed to familiarize myself with the environment and your pets favorite play, sleep, and hiding spots. an emergency plan is something i always love to establish, and I am never scared to send a quick text to clarify something!
“Kerry was beyond fantastic. My kitties loved the attention they received from her. She took amazing care of them while I was away and I was able to enjoy myself and not worry that they weren’t getting wonderful care.”

“Andrea has watched my two Goldens multiple times over the summer and we couldn’t be happier with her! She really cares about my dogs, she’s prompt and capable! I’ll be booking with Andrea again in the future!”

“We have a very difficult older cat who needs daily medication. We had already been through two cat sitters who were not able to administer her meds, after the first time, so we were concerned fo try again. Jared had great instincts with how to deal with the situation. He took the time to let the cat get to know him first. He was reliable and had good communication. We would definitely use him again.”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life, especially dogs. My first pup was an Irish Setter when I was just four, and over the years my family rescued many dogs — including plenty of Basset Hounds — so I’m comfortable with all kinds of breeds and personalities. I’m now a cat owner as well — it’s a new experience, but one I’ve grown to love. At the moment, I’m available nearly every day, including weekends, thanks to a flexible work schedule. I’m happy to work around your needs and adjust as things come up. My kids are fully grown, so I have some more time on my hands! I’m completely comfortable crating dogs when needed, and I’m confident handling daily walks, potty breaks, and general exercise routines to make sure every pup feels safe, happy, and well‑cared for.
“We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Alexa! Not only are the walks consistent and reliable, but the house visits have been an absolute game-changer. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing our dog is being cared for in a familiar environment while we’re away. If you’re looking for someone dependable, caring, and attentive to both your pet and your home, I highly recommend her. We couldn’t be happier!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
