“Rihana was amazing! Dogs were happy and well cared for and the house was spotless when we got home, she even washed the sheets and remade the bed! Definitely hiring her again!”

“This was our first time using Reilley and it definitely wont be our last. She is so conscientious and we felt completely at peace leaving our home and dogs with her. She took great care of our girls and even made sure to wash our bedding so we could come home to a clean bed! Our dogs both need daily medicine and can be a bit timid and she did wonderfully with them. Highly suggest!”

“Suzanna was awesome!! She was so respectful of my dog, my house, property and everything that she totally put my mind at ease leaving town. My golden had special needs and he's a geriatric patient so I was very particular about his care-and she went above and beyond. She communicated well with me and sent me pictures. I can't thank her enough and will definitely hire her again should the need arise.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. I have a 6 year old German Shepherd, and have fostered 4 adult dogs and 9 puppies. I’m very comfortable around large dogs and have recently started taking care of cats. I’ll treat your fur baby as it was my own! I am a full time teacher, so as we are finishing out the school year I am available for nights and weekend help! I can do anytime after 4pm Monday -Friday and then open availability Saturday- Sunday. I know when I leave town for the weekend, it's easier for my dog to be walked and played with a few times a day at home instead of boarding him in a facility. I will follow any instructions you leave and am happy to do a meet and greet before hand. I am comfortable administering medications and have lots of experience walking dogs.
About: Hi my name is Sean. I recently graduated from RIT with a BFA in illustration. I love all animals and currently have a lot of flexibility to care for your pets while I am working from home. I grew up with two labradoodles and I have also cared for friends' animals while they have been away. One of my dogs has Addison's disease, so I am familiar with giving medication to pets. Spending time with animals brings me joy and does not seem like work - I enjoy playing with your animals, going on walks and I give a great belly rub! I am extremely responsible and will love your animals like my own...you might also find some sketches of your pet when you return home. I am an artist that is currently working from home in Quechee. I am extremely flexible and am available during the week and on weekends. I make my own hours so can work around your schedule. I live with my parents and two friendly labradoodles ages 8 and 12. I could board a dog in my home if he/she gets along well with other dogs and is house-trained. I prefer to care for your animals in your own home: I can do drop-in visits, walks and daytime or overnight house-sitting.
“James is an awesome dog and house sitter! He took the dogs on great walks and sent us some adorable pictures while we were away. We came home to two happy, calm pups and a clean, orderly house. Highly recommend!”

“Armani was amazing with our 1.5 year old havapoo! He is slow to warm up to new people, but by the end of day 1, he was already cuddling with her like he had known her forever. Armani texted us throughout the day with pictures and updates, and she treated him as if he was her own. Highly recommend. We will definitely use Armani the next time we are out of town.”

About: I've been caring for animals for over 11 years. I got my first family dog when I was 7 and my second dog at 13, giving me experience with dogs of different ages and personalities. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've looked after neighbors' dogs, cared for a friend's dog for over a week while they were on vacation, and have experience feeding, walking, playing with, and giving plenty of attention and love to pets. I've also had a cat since I was young and have cared for my neighbor's cats, so I'm comfortable with both dogs and cats. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I'm home and very available throughout the summer, so your pet will get plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I work part-time only 2–3 days a week for a few hours at a time, which gives me a very flexible schedule for boarding, drop-in visits, walks, and daycare. I'm available on both weekdays and weekends and can accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight care. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a large yard for supervised play and two friendly, well-socialized dogs who love meeting new friends! I have over 11 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats and will follow your pet's routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions to help them feel safe, happy, and at home. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I'll provide plenty of love, attention, playtime, and regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Ronan was an excellent communicator. From start to finish this was a smooth & pleasant experience. Odin (our dog) was in good spirits when we picked him up. He played well with Ronan's family dog, and must have had a calm and enjoyable overnight in their home, because he was calm and happy upon returning home. Thank you, Ronan!”

“Cyan was wonderfully communicative during our house sitting booking, and shared lots of pictures of our older dog during the visit. We would definitely recommend them for any pet and house sitting opportunities. Thank you!”

“We highly recommend Nicole. We had the absolute best experience with her and would 100% book her again. She has SO much dog knowledge and experience, and she knew just what to do to care for our 17.5 year-old geriatric Miniature Dachshund. Our dog was completely comfortable and happy with her, and she brought out the absolute best in our dog with both a stroller and regular walk. I can't rave enough about how happy we were with Nicole.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Lebanon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Lebanon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Lebanon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
