About: Being around animals brings me joy and I want them to feel at ease because I know they are missing their pet parents. My calm, patient and kind personality will be comforting to your pet. I’ve given medications and have cared for many types of dogs and cats as well as chickens, birds and a duck! I am also very conscientious about safety, being on time and keeping your home tidy. When you return home it will be as you left it and to happy pets! I am recently retired, therefore my schedule is flexible daily, including weekends and overnights. Let me know what your needs are and I will do my best to accommodate. I can pet sit in your home. I do not have my own pets but family members I live with have 2 cats that I often help care for. Safety and caring for your home and pets are important to me. You will return to a tidy home. I am happy to discuss how to accommodate your needs.
“Nadine was so wonderful with our senior pups. She completely respected our “slow to warm up” furbaby. He was relaxed & unfazed by her presence. We are thrilled and can’t wait to work with Nadine again soon! Highly recommend Nadine!”
“I am super happy I found Alex. He cared for my two cats, dropping by throughout the weekend while I was away. He sent me lots of great photos of them playing and hanging out, and regular updates as he took care of their needs. Super communicative, even offered to do a couple things I hadn’t thought of. I’m always super nervous to leave my pets with someone, especially someone new, but Alex helped me feel comfortable that they were getting good care.”

“Jennifer did a great job caring for my cat Loni and I would not hesitate to engage her again. She was very understanding of my cat’s temperament and treated her with care and consideration. She even visited during a horrible snowstorm to make sure Loni was taken care of!”

About: I’m a retired professional with a calm, patient nature and a genuine love for animals. My sister has two dogs, one of whom is a super senior with special needs, so I’m very comfortable providing extra attention, patience, and thoughtful care. With a flexible schedule and plenty of time to devote to one-on-one care, I enjoy creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for dogs and cats. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, medication routines, or quiet companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own—offering reliable care and true peace of mind to pet parents. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. As a retired professional, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to plan my day around a pet’s needs rather than the other way around. I’m home for most of the day, which means plenty of time for walks, play, feeding, medication schedules, and quiet companionship. I enjoy building consistent routines that help pets feel secure and comfortable, and I’m able to give them my full attention without feeling rushed. This flexibility also allows me to adapt easily to senior pets or those with special needs who may require extra time, patience, or monitoring. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs—whether in my home or in a client’s home. I follow all feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, regular walks or playtime, and plenty of attention and companionship. I’m especially attentive to senior and special-needs pets, including administering medications as directed and keeping a calm, consistent environment. In a client’s home, I respect their routines and space, making sure pets feel secure and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. I also keep pet parents updated with check-ins and notes so they can feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away.
About: Dog walking is something I love to do. I take my dog (a boisterous standard schnauzer with quite the mind of his own!) on a walk everyday and love to help others out by giving their pup some exercise! I know that all dogs are unique, so I will take great care to make sure that I follow any instructions given and make this a great experience for the dog. I am good at reading a dog’s body language and know techniques to help calm a dog down if it gets overstimulated and will take necessary steps to ensure the dog’s comfort. I also know my way around the neighborhood, and can take the pup to new and exciting places (within the owners comfort level of course!) so they have a great time! As a recent college graduate, I have a very flexible schedule with ample time to dedicate to taking care of pets. I usually do morning and evening walks (as to avoid too high temperatures) and throughout the day can provide general pet care. I have a large, fenced in yard that pups can run freely in with my own dog. There is also a pool that they can use (under strict supervision of course!) and they have free access to all areas inside the house. We are also conscientious about making sure there are no dangerous things lying around (eg. socks, small items) that the dog can get to.
About: Ive always been around animals, both wild and domestic. I feel very fulfilled and passionate about working with animals, and understand their language quite well. Im happy to give exercise or comfort, whatever is needed. I can do some behavioral training as well. Im happy to adapt to whatever needs present themselves! I'm currently staying at my parents' house on Long Island while I wait for a job opportunity. I have a flexible schedule and love to travel and experience different environments. I have been traveling all over the country the past ten years, taking care of others pets and houses. This includes large lands, with chicken, goats, compost...the whole thing! I also have my own husky mix, and have kept her super happy and healthy. Ive also worked in behavioral health for years, and understand the approach that needs to be taken for both people and animals who have suffered from abuse.

“Joanne was such a wonderful person and very professional and Akai loved her!! She was super helpful with his daily shots of insulin and his eye drops. I will always use her in the future for sure and my pup misses her already! Thank you so much for everything!!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs. I’ve done dog sitting and dog walking for different breeds and personalities, and I’m comfortable keeping up with routines, giving extra patience and care when needed, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m a teacher, so I have more flexibility in the summer when I’m off. I’m very active and enjoy staying busy by being outdoors—going for walks, spending time at the beach, and staying on the move. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely love animals, and spending time with them is something I enjoy as a hobby. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after while sticking closely to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care needs. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while also respecting their space and the home. My goal is always to keep pets happy and stress-free while their owners are away.
“Shelby was absolutely wonderful with our cats Peanut & Simba. She was communicative and sent us pictures regularly during her visits. We will definitely be using her services again in the future!!”

“Hannah was fantastic! She came three times a day, was always reliable and trustworthy, and showed up even in bad weather. We have a large dog (over 100 lbs) and felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands. We’ve used Hannah multiple times and never worry when we’re away. Highly recommend!”

“This was our second time with Steff caring for our two (very needy) sphynx cats and, once again, she was very attentive and professional. As other reviews have noted, Steff loves animals and she provided great care while maintaining frequent communication while we were on vacation. Steff sent lots of photos of the cats at play, which is always reassuring when you are thousands of miles away, and they clearly enjoy her company. We highly recommend Steff to take care of your pet or pets and we hope to use her next time we are away.”

West Bay Shore cat parents share their Rover experiences
Kristin is professional, reliable & a very obvious pet lover. My pet takes a long time to warm up to people, and Kristin gained her trust by being consistent, loving and caring. She gave me peace of mind with helpful updates, pictures and consistency. She also treated my home with immense respect, by keeping things tidy, taking out the trash and even helping with some daily house chores. I absolutely trust her and would book with her again!

From the initial meet and greet it was very clear that Ericka would genuinely look after my babies. She was sure to be prompt with her drop-ins and provide the necessary care for my two cats, and update me daily on their wellbeing. I was so far away but I felt very assured that they were being well taken care of. If you are looking for peace of mind, look no further. Thank you so much Ericka!
