“This was our first time working with Olivia and she was absolutely amazing! Our kitties were fed, played with, cared for, cuddled, and loved daily. Our Siberian cat is generally skittish with strangers and takes a while to warm up. To our surprise, Ruby was immediately obsessed with Olivia! We were able to relax during our trip knowing our cats were well taken care of. We cannot say enough great things about our experience and could not recommend Olivia more. She is respectful, honest, kind, timely, and a true animal lover. She will be our pet sitter for all future travel plans :)”

“Thomas did a great job with my 2 cats. They are very shy creatures, and don’t come out of hiding for most of the sitters that I have tried, but they were very friendly for him and got lots of snuggles. It is good to know that I have a reliable cat sitting option who my cats really like.”

“Cailey helped us out with a last minute booking. She made us feel very comfortable and was more than we could have expected. She was prompt, and made communication with her a breeze. If you're looking for help with your pet don't hesitate with Cailey.”

About: I'm currently the behavior manager for our dog team at Our Companions Animal Rescue. I work at our sanctuary where I manage a team of competent handlers and I work with reactive/aggressive dogs. I'm currently working on getting my CPDT. If you hire me, I promise your canine companion will receive the care, compassion, patience, and attention they deserve. I'm generally always free Sundays and Mondays. I do work full-time Tuesday to Saturday, so my availability is somewhat limited. I can provide my dog walking/activity assistance after 4pm on those work days, except Fridays. Due to my long history and experience working with dogs, I have the ability to read dogs very well to detect if they are anxious, fearful, or uncomfortable. My goal is to make sure your dog gets exactly what they need, whether it's a certain activity they enjoy, training they need, or a certain destination they love for their outdoor time. Positive reinforcement is the name of the game.

About: I have been a lifelong animal lover, growing up with both dogs and cats and continuing to adopt and care for them throughout my adult life. Caring for animals has always been a natural and joyful part of my home. I have experience with daily routines, including feeding, walking, administering basic care, and providing consistent companionship. I also had a beloved lovebird growing up, which gave me experience tending to smaller pets with gentleness and attention. What sets me apart is my patience, kindness, and genuine heart for animals. While I do not have formal training experience, I am consistent, attentive, and willing to reinforce basic training practices with calm encouragement. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with safety, affection, and respect at the center of their care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am available most weekdays, especially during school hours, which allows me to provide dependable daytime walks, check-ins, feedings, and companionship. I tailor my care to each pet’s needs and routine. In a client’s home, I maintain their regular schedule for feedings, walks, playtime, and any special care, while keeping the home tidy and respected. About: I’ve been around animals my whole life: dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens, you name it! My smallest dog ever was a chihuahua and my largest is a cane corso. My home was also a foster home and we had many litters of puppies and kittens come through on their way to their forever families! I work full time so I am primarily available on weekends, but I do work from home once a week if you need a last minute walk or check in on a pet! I am happy to take your pet outside, feed them, play with them, go for a walk or to get some exercise! I am unable to take them in my home but happy to work with you to fit you and your pet’s needs.
About: Hi, I’m Isabel! I love making sure every pup in my care feels right at home. My husband, Shawn, works fully remotely, and our dog-savvy 10-year-old son loves having furry friends around. We have two dog-friendly rescues, Stevie and Griggs, who are also happy to welcome visiting pups into our home. Stevie was actually a former client who became family, so we know firsthand how special these bonds can be! When your dog stays with us, they become part of our everyday routines. From walks and playtime to simply relaxing together at home, we want every pup to feel comfortable, included, and loved. Think of it as a little staycation with plenty of companionship and a home away from home. We’d love to meet you and your pup! Reach out to schedule a meet and greet so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. I’m currently working part-time and I go for long walks daily, so I have plenty of time to provide care for your beloved animal friends! I believe pets are family members; anytime I visit a home, I’m a guest of the pet as well! While you’re away (out of town or at work) I’ll make sure that your pet is comfortable at home!
About: From childhood, my life has been a menagerie of animals big and small—dogs, cats, rodents, fish, —you name it! This lifelong immersion has made me a true animal lover with a knack for understanding their unique needs. I pride myself on following directions carefully, ensuring your pet's routine and specific care instructions are always top priority. Whether it's a tiny hamster or a large dog, I'm passionate about providing attentive and loving care to animals of all sizes. My experience includes working with different dog breeds, pet-sitting for dogs, and fostering cats, giving me a solid foundation in responsible pet care. You can trust that your furry, scaly, or feathered friends will be in capable and caring hands. My schedule is pretty flexible, and I'll always do my best to accommodate your needs. I just got back from school, so I’m figuring out my summer plans and work situation. I should have plenty of time to give your pups top-notch care and lots of playtime! I have three dogs and two cats, and they're all super friendly. But I totally get that not all dogs want attention from other animals. If your pet prefers their personal space, that's no problem at all—I can definitely provide that. My house has a big backyard with a portion that is fully fenced. I live in a safe neighborhood for walks, with trails right behind my house and lots of public trails nearby for hikes. For cats, I'd give them their own space away from my cats, since they can be territorial and need slow introductions. If you have any other kind of pet, I have a finished pet room with its own heating system and no other pets! My care is specialized to your pet and their needs.

“Patricia was absolutely wonderful caring for our two shy cats. She is kind, patient and gave them the space they needed while providing them with comfort, treating them as if they were her own. Her preparation, communication, and overall care made her an excellent choice for pet sitting. I highly recommend her services and will definitely be booking with her again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
