Madison took care of our 4 pets- 2 large dogs & 2 cats while we were out of town for 5 days. One of the dogs had just had surgery and ended up being somewhat challenging with his bandage. She made sure he was taken care of and kept us up to date the whole time. She went above and beyond! We will use her in the future!

Kaitlynn stayed with my anxious dog Cora for over a week and I was able to enjoy my vacation and trust that she was in great hands! Kaitlynn provided consistent updates on Cora including many photos which my family & I loved to receive multiple times throughout the day. She followed Cora’s feeding & medication routine perfectly & overall my anxious 65 lb potties mix was so happy & content for the whole stay. I highly recommend Kaitlynn she was wonderful!

Annie took incredible care of my two dogs and my house while I was away on vacation and I could not ask for a better sitter! My dogs are both seniors on daily medication, anxious barkers, and attached to me at the hip on their daily routine… but I think they were a little disappointed when I came home and it wasn’t Annie walking through the door! I received updates and pictures while I was away which helped me relax and know everything was going well while I was gone. I truly cannot recommend her enough and will definitely rebook!

Excellent sitter. Victoria handled one of our dog’s specific mobility needs perfectly. Knowing she had everything under control really eased the separation anxiety for both us and the dogs. The house was left exactly how we found it—couldn't be happier with the choice. Will definitely be booking Victoria for future trips!

About: Hi, I’m Clara! Animals have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve worked with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments—from tiny parrots to towering horses—and I’m confident handling everything in between. I have experience with: • Puppies and young dogs (training, socialization, and lots of patience!) • Caring for a dog with frequent seizures and special health needs • Working at a large dog rescue in Mexico, rehabilitating street dogs with behavioral and medical issues of all sizes • Administering oral medications and following detailed care instructions • Senior pet care with extra attention and gentleness (my dog is epileptic so I know how to administer all seizure meds and the full protocol) • Basic training and reinforcing good behavior • Horse care from years of working in barns (feeding, grooming, handling) • Volunteering for a year at a parrot rescue, learning about specialized bird care I’m active and outdoorsy, so I love taking energetic dogs for runs, hikes, or long walks—but I’m just as happy giving older or calmer pets plenty of snuggles. Safety, compassion, and keeping your pets happy are my top priorities, and I’ll always send plenty of photo updates while you’re away. I’m currently completely open and very flexible with scheduling. I’m not working another job right now, so I can adjust to your pet’s exact needs—whether that’s early mornings, late nights, or last-minute bookings. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. In my home, pets must be friendly with other dogs, as I have my own, and everyone’s well-being is a top priority. We have a fully fenced yard for safe play and fresh air, and I love going on regular walks to keep pets happy and healthy. I’m very routine-oriented, so I’ll follow your pet’s feeding, exercise, and care schedule exactly as you request—whether in my home or yours. I make sure each animal feels secure, loved, and stress-free, with plenty of supervision, enrichment, and affection.

About: I’ve had many dogs all different kind of breeds. Very good at training and giving them attention. Takes them for walks 1 to 3 times a day I’m free Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Some weekends if 2 week notice. Mornings afternoons and evenings work durning the week. Weekends when I’m available mainly evenings and nights I don’t have a fenced yard but I will keep them on leash at all times and be very close so they don’t take off

JL was an absolute dream! My boys -- a cat and a dog -- were so well taken care of, as was my apartment. They adored him. Took the dog on long walks and followed feeding directions to a T. Would indubitably have him pet-sit in the future.

About: Hello! My name is Sab, and I am a student, studying behavioral psychology. I've been a sitter for Rover for over 9 years and just moved to CA from NC with my senior dog and puppy. I am experienced in administering medication to dogs, please just let me know what you need. I’m vigilant when it comes to training and management. I understand consistency is everything for our dogs, especially with our adolescent dogs and dogs that struggle with anxiety, so please if your dog has a strict schedule, specific rituals, or training/rules you're trying to implement with your dogs - sitting when greeting strangers, crate training, one long walk before bed - let me know!! I will definitely work with you on it. I just moved to the area and don’t really have a routine right now! Let me know how I can help, I am flexible and will work with you. Having just moved in, we’re not having visitors over for the moment while we get everything unpacked. But I will be respectful of your home if you require services there, and as long as you let me know what you need for your dog, I’ll do my best to meet your expectations.

Emily did an amazing job! We didn’t have much time to find a place or person to watch our pets when we went on an impromptu trip, she came in and saved the day. Our pets (2 dogs and 1 cat) seemed to enjoy her company, she sent pictures daily. All around a great experience. Highly recommended!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wauregan

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,537 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wauregan. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wauregan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wauregan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wauregan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wauregan. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
