About: I’m an elementary school teacher and lifelong animal lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with pets. I’ve had pets throughout my life and understand that they’re part of the family. As a teacher, I’m patient, dependable, organized, and used to being responsible for the safety and well-being of others every day. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone new, so I’ll treat your pets the way I’d want someone to treat my own. I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, potty breaks, and plenty of attention while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. What Sets Me Apart Being a teacher means I’m naturally patient, attentive, and reliable. I pay attention to the little things and follow directions carefully, including feeding schedules, routines, medications, and any special instructions you leave for your pet. I’ll also keep you updated so you can relax knowing your pet is safe and getting plenty of love. My Schedule I work as an elementary school teacher, so I have a consistent schedule and know my availability in advance. I’m available for pet care before or after school, during evenings, weekends, school breaks, and holidays. My availability is especially flexible during summer and other school breaks. Safety, Trust & Environment Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. I’ll follow your instructions closely and take time to learn your pet’s personality, routine, and needs. I understand that some pets warm up immediately while others need a little patience and space. I’m happy to work at their pace and make their time with me as comfortable and stress-free as possible. About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a young girl. I also have worked with sick dogs, elderly dogs, and wired puppies. I can assure you I will care for your dog the exact way I would for mine, all the love, treats and pets I have. I work a very flexible schedule at my day job and it is only about 5 minutes away from my home, so I am able to come home at work if need be. We are normally free and around our home on the weekend. We have a very large side and back yard that I would love to provide supervised play time with your dog. If your dog gets along with other dogs, we own the friendliest black lab who will provide some social fun for your dog. If your dog is not great with others we are more than happy to leave our dog inside and give yours a dedicated outdoor space to play. We also have an abundance of dog toys - too many in my opinion for your pet to play with! We love to frequent local parks and go on walks on various distances as well! Whatever your dog enjoys we can aim to make happen!

Hibbert (bulldog) would bring his toys to her and enjoyed being around her. She is smart, punctual, and you can tell just loves animals.”

About: I've had animals my entire life and have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, personalities and needs. I currently have two dogs and three cats of my own, and I also volunteer at an animal shelter so I'm very comfortable with shy pets, seniors, high-energy dogs and everything in between. What sets me apart is my calm, loving, devoted one-on-one approach I bring every service. Whether I'm boarding your dog, stopping in for a potty break or pet sesh, hosting daycare or taking your pup for a walk, your pet gets patience, gentleness, clear communication and genuine love. I'm silly with the dogs, respectful of the cats, recognize boundaries and am always attuned to each animal's comfort level. I currently have a very flexible schedule so I'm available for pet care throughout the week. I'm home most of the day which means plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks and a calm and consistent routine for your pet. I offer walks and drop-ins throughout the week and boarding and daycare on weekends. I love building my schedule around each pet to make sure they feel safe and cared for. My home is calm, clean and pet-friendly, with two gentle resident dogs who are great with visitors. I'm experienced with slow introductions and always prioritize safety, comfort and respecting each pet's boundaries. I can crate your dog if needed, keep close supervision during yard time and follow any routines or rules your pet is used to. In your home I maintain the same level of care - keeping things predictable, secure and tailored to your pet's needs.

About: I grew up with multiple pets, we often called it the "Cook Family Zoo". I've helped take care of many cats, dogs, turtles, fish and even ferrets at one point! I currently have two dogs a terrier/cattle dog mix and a German shepherd/lab mix puppy! They both are rescues and love to cuddle. I volunteer with a local dog rescue and am a proud foster fail. :) I’m passionate about protecting all furry friends and finding the perfect home for each loving animal. I love all animals, big or small, and do my best to be flexible and communicate with you quickly and thoroughly. I hope you will consider me to help take care of your loved ones and I will be sure to give them lots of love while you're away. Currently working full time but have availability on weekends and most evenings to help out! I also have flexibility at work so depending on your needs can make drop in visits and walks during the day. I work from home occasionally too so I can usually be flexible as needed. If visiting your home I would respect your wishes around routine training, diet and behavior. I typically provide photos and/or text updates of your pet so you know they’re doing well and we’ll looked after even when you’re not able to be there!

Mary was excellent and went above and beyond when taking care of my two dogs. One of my dogs had a problem with her paw shortly after we left and Mary handled the whole situation very well. She was very communicative and asked questions when necessary. I knew they were in good hands the whole time!

Elizabeth went above and beyond for our two kitties. Both are very shy boys and she had so much patience letting them get comfortable with her in our home. Both warmed up to her way faster than other "strangers"!! She provided incredibly detailed summaries for each visit, filled with pictures of our boys eating, playing, and getting cuddles. It's no wonder that she has such great reviews and repeat customers. I definitely hope to have her back for our future kitty-care needs!!

Tiffany is an amazing pet sitter. The first time we spoke in person I felt that we had known each other for years. She has an amazing vibe. She very detail oriented. It was first time leaving all the animals at home and it was amazing knowing they were well taken care of. She went above and beyond what was asked.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
