About: Cats and dogs have been a part of my life for 20 + years. Each one of them are special in their own ways. I understand the grieving pets go through when they are separated from their family and that is why at my house your pets will be part of mine. Please don't think of it as boarding... when your pets are with me, they are a part of my family! They will be loved and spoiled from the time you drop them off until you are able to get back to them. I have been the one looking for a trusting pet sitter and I have high expectations of what I want, so I give my all to your pet regardless if they are at my house or if I am at your house checking in on a pet. I look forward to meeting you and your pet soon! Thank you!! I am a retired registered nurse so I have a ton of availability and flexibility to help you out with any of your pets needs. I currently do not have the availability to host pets at my home, however I am more than willing to come into your home to care for your pets. My goal is to always keep your pets routine as normal as possible.
“Rodney was great with my Corgi, very patient and understanding. He was also very flexible with timing, which I appreciate. It was a good opportunity for Kix to socialize with a large number of dogs.”

About: I’ve been caring for loving animals since I was 11, and over the years, family, friends and neighbors have trusted me to feed, walk and look after their pets with consistent compassion, patience, and genuine affection. I’m currently working part-time so I’m home throughout the week. I’m available to pet sit, dog walk or provide a midday potty break. Mostly during the week however my schedule is flexible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely, provide gentle companionship, keep their environment clean and comfortable, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and stress-free while their family is away.
About: Ive been taking care of dogs my whole life. We actually had Beagle puppies born in our bathroom 13 years ago. I've raised 5 dogs all together. We have 1 left. He's our baby. I will love your dog like my own. I will take care of them like you do. I'm not working so I have plenty of time to walk, play and love on your pet! I am available most weekends and holidays as well. I have a fenced area in my yard, a doggie door and a very friendly senior dog. He's a little loud sometimes, since he's a Beagle but it's all love. Your fur baby will be super happy here. If you prefer I come to you that is perfectly fine too. I will make sure your pet is happy when I leave!
“Lauren has been watching my Daisy for a couple weeks now and she is awesome!! Daisy loves her and already knows when we turn down her street that she’s going to daycare. Highly recommend!!”

“Catherine is AMAZING! She is so kind, considerate, and takes such great care of our dog Romeo. We had a last minute request for daycare and she accepted and went above and beyond. You can tell she truly loves your dog like her own. I will definitely be using Catherine again in the future and I highly recommend you book with her! I cannot say enough good things.”

“My dog has pretty severe separation anxiety as well as fear of other dogs. It has been challenging finding the right caretaker for him. Richard and Sarah have been fantastic with Guinness and he enjoys his time there. A little out of the way to get him there but worth it because of how great Richard and Sarah are with our boy.”

About: I’ve been a lifelong animal lover and have cared for pets for over 20 years. I’ve had dogs since I was 20 years old and also worked in a veterinary clinic while I was in college, where I gained hands-on experience in animal care and behavior. I currently volunteer with the Humane Society, where I help care for animals in need. I also enjoy spending time with my friends’ and family’s pets and treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether it’s walking, feeding, playtime, or keeping your pet company, I’m dedicated to providing loving, reliable care. Your pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priorities! As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule and can provide care when it’s needed — whether that’s daily visits, walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping your pet company. Whether I’m caring for pets in my own home or in a client’s home, my goal is always the same: to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable. In My Home: I provide a clean, pet-friendly environment with lots of space to play, relax, and feel at home. I follow your pet’s usual schedule as closely as possible — including feeding times, walks, playtime, and rest. I limit the number of pets I care for at once to ensure each one gets plenty of individual attention. I also send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you're away. In Your Home: I respect your space and care for your pet just as you would. I stick to their regular routines, give them lots of love and attention, and keep everything clean and tidy. I can also water plants, bring in mail, or do light home tasks if requested. Most importantly, I make sure your pet stays calm, comfortable, and well-cared for in their familiar environment. I understand that every pet is different, so I’m always happy to follow any special instructions or routines to keep them happy and healthy.

I can provide a dog runner line, a long tie-out, or take your dog out on a leash. I can provide daily walks, including to our neighborhood pond if your dog likes the water. I am happy to accommodate any reasonable pet care requests, whatever they may be. I just ask that your dog be vaccinated and friendly with other dogs and kids.

Our Pug is the youngest and raised by the Labs and of course, me. In the evenings it’s relax in the chair time. The dogs love to snuggle up and just nap after playing outside. I make my own work schedule and am able to fit work around pets. Usually only leaving the dogs for an errand run here and there. I go outside with all dogs and walk them on the property. I feed 2 times a day plus a snack or whatever is necessary for any visiting pet along with fresh water at all times. All pets have free range of the house day and night unless otherwise requested. I have an outdoor kennel for nice days if they need to be outside for a little while.
“Monica was very patient with us and Taz. We are new to doggie daycare since adopting him a year ago. We did a meet and greet before his first (short) stay, and came up with a plan to get him acclimated to their home and interacting with the other dogs. I appreciated all the photos and the update during his visit.”

About: Let your dog vacay with me. There will be more wagging and less worrying. Im a caregiver by nature having 40+ years experience as an RN. I am retired and moved to AnnArbor 7/2025, to be near my 3y/o grandson. I am a stay at home mom to my 6 y/o red, fox lab named Roger. Roger is accustomed to having boarders. I live alone. You and your dog are treated like family. I have a large fenced area on an acre lot. Retiring this year after being employed as an RN for 43yrs makes your fur baby my sole priority. I boarded dogs for 10+ years before moving to Ann Arbor in 7/25 so I could be more involved in my grandson's life. Your pet gets lots of T.L.C. in hopes that my home feels safe and comfortable like your home. I am a home-body. I don't like leaving the dogs alone so rarely do. I like to take the dogs on field trips, to nearby forest preserves or parks so they can enjoy new smells. I live alone on 1.2 acres so I have plenty of space for fetch, tag and wading pools. I have a fenced yard which is secure. Walks on leashes are common for a change of scenery and sniffs. Dogs are allowed on all furniture. My king size bed has plenty of space for any fur baby who would like to sleep with me. I only board one dog at a time (unless they are from the same family). Iroutinely send texts with photos so you can see how your dog is enjoying his or her vacation.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 438 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Waterloo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Waterloo commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
