About: I’ve always loved being around animals and understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to adjust to each pet’s personality and routine. Whether it’s energetic walks, playtime, feeding, or simply giving them attention and comfort, I’ll make sure your pet is well cared for. I also believe in keeping owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, and I currently have flexible availability for walks and drop-in visits. I’m available on weekdays after my work hours and weekends I’m available all day , and will do my best to accommodate different schedules whenever possible. I believe pets feel happiest when they feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine and personality while making sure they receive plenty of attention, patience, and care. I’m respectful of clients’ homes and always prioritize safety, communication, and keeping owners updated with messages and photos.
“Brynn (Ash) came through for me in a pinch. Thank you! Another caretaker that I lined up via Rover canceled on me during the first day of my trip at a point where I was already miles away in another state. In a panic I searched for someone else and Brynn wasn’t just willing to help, they were willing to head over to my home to check-in on my cat 10 minutes after we had finalized arrangements! Communication was easy, clear, and consistent. I will absolutely looking for their support again when I have to travel and leave my elderly cat at home!”

“I couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of my cat Scrub while I was away this past weekend. As soon as I met. Krista, I felt that we had found someone who would care for Scrub just as I would and with the need for her new medications it was really comforting to realize that there would be someone there to take care of Scrub with the same care that I would. I would recommend Krista to anyone without hesitation and look forward to working with her again. Thank you so much! Krista, you really made my weekend much less stressful and I thank you for that. Peace Jeff and Scrub”

“Kyline was fantastic for our house and kitty. Super upfront about work schedule. She sent us numerous photos and updates with and without prompting. Left the house clean, and took care of everything we asked. Highly recommend.”

About: I grew up in a neighborhood my friends used to call “the farm”. We had 3 dogs, one neighbor had chickens, one neighbor had horses, and another neighbor had goats. Along with various dogs and cats at each house. Because I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood, I was the go-to person anytime a neighbor needed a house sitter or even just needed me to feed their pet dinner since they were out late. When I got older and started driving, I began dog sitting for our large group of friends, taking care of all sizes of dogs, cats, and the occasional reptile. Although I work part-time, I am generally available 7 days a week for house sitting. I am willing to accommodate crazy schedules and last minute plans if need be. I have a small home but a big yard, so while I can’t accommodate boarding, I have a large outdoor space and my own pup that is eager for play dates during the day. As for house sitting, I provide attentive, personalized care in my client’s home so your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely. With my history in the animal health field, I am comfortable administering any medications if needed. As a person who values communication, I provide regular ‘pupdates’ and pictures so owners feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something that genuinely brings me so much joy. I treat every dog like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, comfortable, and spoiled with plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and care. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I’ll give them the same love and patience I would give my own. I’d love the opportunity to become your dog’s favorite sitter and give you peace of mind while you’re away! 🐾❤️ I currently work a full-time job from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, but most of my evenings are free and weekends perfect if you need a sitter for a weekend getaways or a night out! “Our cat and chickens were well cared for by Jill during several days of drop in visits. Jill welcomed and fulfilled my detailed requests for their care and provided daily updates to confirm that all was well with our animals.”
About: Hi! I am in between doggo's right now:). I have lots of extra love to spend on your pet while you are away:). I am great with walks, playing, pet hugs and medication ( if needed ). My yard is HUGE and I have an in/out dog door. I are totally comfortable doing extra special meals also. . I am happy to crate your pup if that is your routine for daytime or nighttime, but if not- your pup will be just hanging out with me and likely going on a hike during the day. I have 2 acres, completely fenced. I have a dog door, so your pup can go in and out as needed, but I can also close that off if needed. I only take (at max) 2 dogs at a time, so your dog will get a ton of attention.
“Michelle was amazing. I was very worried about leaving my kitty that I only had for a short while. I connected with her and was 100% confident that everything would be great and it was. I will absolutely use her again!!!”

About: Hey Hey! I am Rocky, you fur childs favorite nanny! I have a background in veterinary medicince, with five years of nursing experience. Although I stepped away from the medical field, I continued to care for beloved furry companions. In Sacramento, I had long-standing clients, averaging over five years. Now, I'm eager to build a wonderful clientele and create a family of furry nieces and nephews! Pet Care Availability I can accommodate pet care on my days off, which are Wednesday through Saturday. I take great pride in ensuring your pets are both safe and cherished while you're away. I make certain that your home remains secure, inform you of any behavioral or health changes, and provide them with clean water and fresh food, and administer medications. I will bring the mail in, water indoor and outdoor plants, and am happy to discuss any other tasks you may require.
“Gina is such a reliable and responsible person who provides excellent care to my cats! She is very communicative and always helps me feel at ease when I travel. I definitely recommend booking with her!”

“This should really be at least 10 stars. Julie is a true professional. She clearly loves animals and orivided such loving care. Iline if the most difficult things anout my recent move to California was finding care for the cats when we travel. Pip especially needs extra TLC and must be medicated daily. Julie quickly got through the business of the day and spent some quality time each day with the “kids.” Couldn’t be happier!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Washoe
Emma was so sweet with our kitties and gave us consistent updates and photos. We knew we were in good hands throughout our trip and I’m really grateful to have found such a good cat sitter. Thank you for managing our cats random quirks and needs and keeping them company while we were gone!

We were so lucky and thankful to find Krista!! Our dog Bennie and our cat Teddy absolutely loved her, and she gave us peace of mind when we traveled for a weekend to visit family. We really hope to continue working with her-- when you find someone as good as Krista, you want to hold on to her!

Lexi was amazing! We hired her last minute to do drop-ins for our dog and cats while we were away for 3 days and hired her to do a couple of walks throughout the stay. She updated me with pictures so I knew when the pets were fed and my dog was brought in for the night. My dog looked so happy on his walks too. Awesome sitter.

Emmalene genuinely saved my cat’s life. There was a fire in our home while we were out of town and thankfully she arrived for a drop-in visit before it was too late. She called the fire department and made sure Kitty got out safe. She took Kitty home with her and took care of her like she was her own cat until I could get back the next day. I cannot speak highly enough of Emmalene and her above and beyond care; even after such a traumatic experience, I could tell Kitty felt so comfortable and safe staying with her. I cannot thank her enough for saving my cat’s life.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
