About: Hi there! All my life I have been an animal lover and for the last 8 years I have raised my own dog, and taken care of other dogs for families I used to babysit for. I can fit in any lifestyle your pet has, whether they are active or a stay-at-home. I can fit any accommodation as I work from home, love to exercise (so your dog would get plenty of it, if need be), and I'm incredibly flexible and will be normally free to help you more than not. At the same time, I raised my dog since she was a puppy so I do have experience with younger, more energetic dogs and overall I would simply love to help and treat your dogs like family. I hope we can talk soon! I'm super flexible and work from home at the moment so I basically can take care of your dogs whenever you may need it. I will certainly be more free for your dog rather than not! I will care for your pet in your home however you see fit. I do what is asked and can fit any accommodation whether your dog has a lot of needs, or simply needs a walk and some playtime. I'm happy to help however it may be!

Jennifer is an amazing Rover employee. She agreed to do a drop-in with little notice and moved around her schedule to schedule a meet and greet. When the day of the drop-in came around and I needed to change the time of the appointment, she was very flexible and easy-going. Not to mention, she took great care of Abby by walking her, playing with her, and making sure her water bowl was full. I will definitely be asking Jennifer to watch Abby again!

Drop-in visits have been a big success. Taylor loves Kat! Seems to know she’s “his person” and shows great affection for her. Hopefully, Wookiee, the tortie, will feel the same when she comes out of hiding.

About: I have had dogs my entire life, and have had a cat for 13 years. I have been put in charge several times for taking care of my pets, along with the pets of family friends when they are gone and have never had any problems. I am currently a student at Colorado Mesa University and am an elite athlete (cyclist). I am very flexible with scheduling on my available days! Unfortunately I won’t be able to provide care for your pets at my home, but I am willing to drive anywhere to accommodate to your needs.

About: I just moved back to Colorado from Southern CA where I used work for a non-profit where I train dogs to become service dogs for individuals with disabilities! I can handle large groups of dogs and love giving special attention to any pet :) I had cats and dogs growing up and during college, I watched many of my friends’ dogs for a few hours, up to a few weeks. ** message me if you have scheduling questions! I can be more accommodating than this app’s calendar :) I work full-time, so I am looking to help watch pets on weekends and over the upcoming winter holiday season. I am comfortable staying at a client's home and doing longer-term pet care as long as the animal can be alone during the day for an 8 hour work day. If your home is near Oceanside, I can stop in during my lunch break to let your pets out to toilet. I will keep dogs on leash unless in a trusted, enclosed area. For safety reasons, I will not be using a Flexi-leash. I will always make sure your pet has ample clean water. I am more than happy to send photos and updates on your pet while they're in my care! As of July 12, I am certified in Cat and Dog First Aid from the American Red Cross, and for my job, I have been trained to be alert to allergic reactions and typical dog stats.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my experience and comfort with pets who have special needs. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes—from energetic puppies to senior dogs requiring extra support. I’m experienced in administering oral medications, using doggy diapers, and providing gentle, attentive care to aging pets. I’ve also cared for cats and understand their unique personalities and routines. I treat every animal like my own, with patience, compassion, and attention to detail. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine because I currently volunteer at dog shelters and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time, energy, and attention to the pets I care for. Since animals are already a big part of my life, I genuinely enjoy spending time with them and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I always want the pets I care for to feel comfortable, happy, and truly fulfilled. Whether that means playtime with their favorite toys, a fun run outside, or a peaceful stroll, I tailor their care to what brings them joy. I make sure they have everything they need—plenty of food, water, comfort, and affection—so they never feel without or stressed. I'm incredibly attentive to their needs and committed to giving them my full care and focus. I also prioritize open communication with you, so you’ll always feel informed, reassured, and connected to your pet while you're away.

About: I am a huge dog lover who loves fetching with them, playing with them, and giving them tons of loves!! I love walking them if that’s part of their routine, and am just overjoyed to be able to hang out with them and give them a safe space while their humans are away! I have had and cared for dogs for over a decade and am very comfortable with all breeds and schedules. I am a part time student who has plenty of time over the summer. I’m happy to stay at the home so that your dog is in their safe space. I am very big on making sure they get the exercise and play that they need to stay feeling happy! My work shifts from time to time will keep me out of the house for ~6 hours at a time, but if that is unfitting of your dogs needs I’m happy to ensure that my work doesn’t overlap with my time staying with them. I am careful to be aware of the dogs schedule in your home and ensure that feeding, exercise, and sleep routines are maintained to ensure your dogs comfort. I will always make sure to carefully adhere to instruction, I am here to make the best possible environment for your dog(s) and nothing less!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ward. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
