Boarding experience review) This is our first dog, and our first time using Rover, and Salena helped put ease to our mind! She sent pictures of our puppy and was really flexible to work with. Bale slept so good when he came home, and he looked like he had the best time! We will definitely be using her again! I highly recommend her to anyone!

About: I’ve been a dog owner since 10 years old and have not gone without mans best friend since! I currently live on 23 acres in the country and long walks and chasing balls packs in most of the day with my 4 dogs Jetta, Odie, Ruby and Rowley. All dogs are dog friendly and well mannered. Graduating puppy classes to canine good citizen classes, plus dabbling in agility and herding. I currently work Weekends Friday-Sunday and my week is filled with lots of outdoor time on my hobbies farm. Lots of free time during the week helps me have fun with my animals and enjoy the sunshine. All my pets are cat and dog friendly and have full freedom of the property. New comers are always on a 12 foot leash during playtime and walks, unless E-collar trained. When first meeting owners I go over your dogs recall manners and slowly introduce them to the pack on a long property walk. This helps incorporate pack leadership and expelling energy at the same time.

Ryan was a great host to my two boys. He was great to work with and went the extra mile to help me out in a diffacult situation where I had to travel with very short notice for work. I would recommend Ryan to anyone looking to board their dogs and will be using him in the future again!

Pat was a great sitter and recognized that our dog Rowdy was in distress and took the initiative to get him to our vet. He ended up having emergency surgery for a twisted stomach, and if it wasn't for Pat's quick response it would have been a different outcome. We are thankful that Pat was caring for Rowdy.

About: I have worked with numerous animals since I was 5 years old. I have owned chickens, rabbits, horses, dogs, and cats my entire life. I am a 4-H leader where I teach children how to train dogs and I help them show and prepare their animals at fair. I also show my own animals at the fair. Additionally, I have pet sat for numerous family members over the years as well as friends. I will always be there for your pet and I will make sure they are well taken care of and loved just like they are my own. I am a teacher who is currently on summer break. So my schedule is pretty open during the summer and I have a lot of availability. During the school year, most of my weekends are free as well as when we have breaks. I am flexible and willing to make things work for you! I live on a little hobby farm with my husband. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats who are very friendly. I have everything needed in my home to take care of a dog including a kennel if needed as well as tie outs. We have a lake that is 5 minutes from our house and if your dog loves to swim, I would be happy to take them. I take my dogs all over in the summer and I would make sure your pet gets a lot of attention and exercise as well. Additionally, we have a huge barn and fenced in pasture as well as rabbit hutches in the barn and a chicken coop! Whatever animal you have they can be comfortable at my property. Additionally, if you feel better about your animal staying at home, I am happy to accommodate to that as well.

Our dog Oakley seemed to have loved his time with Julie and her family for the weekend. She has 2 dog which our dog seemed comfortable with after the meet and greet. She sent photos and videos of their adventures. Missed our pup for the weekend, but glad we got updates and knew he was in good hands. Also having some other pups to play with was great since he doesn't normally have that type of activities so I'm sure he enjoyed himself.

Christine continues to be our favorite dog sitter! She responds promptly and gives us updates while we are gone. This was an extra long time for us to be gone and we were never worried our dog wouldn't receive the best care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
