“David was great! We booked last minute and he was very accommodating and communicative. He sent me photos and updates of how they were doing. If we are in the area again I would definitely book with him again. My dogs enjoyed themselves and were well taken care of.”

“Chaqutia took great care of our Labradoodle! She sent me pictures and updates throughout the stay, which really put my mind at ease. I was a little nervous about leaving my pet in a new home, but everything went perfectly. Knowing our dog was in good hands allowed me to relax and enjoy my birthday with my family. Thanks so much, Chaqutia!”
“Weina was flexible with our drop off/pick up time for Finnegan which was much appreciated! She took our sweet pup out on three long walks over a 7+ hour period plus additional short potty and water breaks. She sent updates and photos throughout the stay. Quick to respond to our request and any additional outreach!”

“Tara was amazing! She helped me out last minute and was super communicative the whole time. She sent regular updates and clearly cared about Finn—he loved being with her! So grateful to have found someone so reliable and kind. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Daniela was really wonderful, attentive and patient and flexible. Goguma is still in his puppy phase and got to play with her dog. She checked in several times. I felt like Goguma was in great hands and look forward to future dates with Daniela.”

“Breyalyn is an amazing dog sitter!!! She took our request super last minute and was so sweet and accommodating. Our dog was immediately comfortable with her! Breyalyn sent pictures throughout the stay too. I wish we lived in the area.. 110 percent recommend her to watch your dogs! :)”

“If I could give Dawn 100 stars I would!! She was AMAZING taking care of my little Yeti. She was communicating and sending beautiful pictures of him all day. He never eats at strange locations, and he even ate with her. She has a sixth sense for animals!! I'd recommend her everyday.”

“Alison and Jason are the best! Meeko gets so much attention and excercise while in their care and is always excited when we get to their door. They also put special care into his sting habits (he doesn’t always want to eat) and send lots of cute pics of him throughout the dayt. We are so glad to have them nearby.”

“Cody has a great time with Mary and makes herself right at home. Above and beyond dog sitter who gives plenty of walks and activities. We'd trust our dog in her care anytime!”
“Alexis was AMAZING! My German Shepard has a lot of anxiety when I leave her and she was right at home with Alexis. I was sent photos throughout the stay which was great and picked up a very happy pup! I will be a repeating customer after this great experience!”

“Sandra and her husband were absolutely wonderful! We were traveling and needed last-minute care for our fur-baby, and they graciously accommodated us without hesitation. From the moment we met them, they made us feel completely at ease. Their communication was excellent throughout, and it was clear that our fur-baby was cared for with genuine love, patience, and attention. They are kind, thoughtful, and truly passionate about what they do. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful care they provided and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog day care service. Thank you both for taking such great care of our little one.”

“Dottie LOVED Leah! She had a blast hanging with her all day and meeting new dog friends. Dottie was pooped by the end of the day from all the fun she had. Leah took great care of her!”

About: Growing up I’ve always had dogs and truly think they’re amazing creatures. I’m comfortable with all sizes, and had several larger dogs throughout my life. I will be very patient and kind to your pup and keep their safety and well being my priority! Right now my availability is pretty open and my schedule is very flexible. I reside in Middletown, NY but am willing to travel depending the distance. I live in an apartment with my three cats. Although it’s a full house, I am very clean and litter box changing/cleaning is done on the daily basis.

“Chris was very chill, cool, and communicative. We were only gone for a few hours at the nearby Storm King Art Center but got plenty of photos and our puppy looked happy. She was smiling.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
