“Jessica was a life safer; allowing the whole family to go stateside while being able to leave our two older dogs with someone at home relieved a lot of anxiety. She was a good communicator, took great care of the dogs, and left the house in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend and hope to book her again in the future!”

“Richard was great with Moosey! Fast communicator. Sent pics and videos. Super respectful and left my place clean. Moosey loved him. Definitely would recommend and would book again for my future trips.”

“Jessica was amazing with my little Hazel. She was very accomodating to a unique sitting situation and made Hazel very comfortable. Would definitely have her doggy sit again.”

“Using rover was last minute decision because my original sitter was a family friend who ended up oversleeping and not showing for the first scheduled day to watch my 3.5 month old puppy, Coda. I had less than 24 hours to find someone reliable which had me stressed out beyond belief. I was very hesitant to use rover and have a complete stranger in my house watching my little guy while I was at work. I found Analiese and liked what I read in her reviews. She responded within minutes and asked to schedule a meet and great within a couple hours. I was apprehensive but once we got a chance to meet Analiese, I instantly felt comfortable. I could feel that she was a good person and loved animals, especially my boy. She was very easy to talk, professional, and very accommodating to my last minute request. She ended up watching Coda for the next two days and texted me pics and videos throughout the day which I really appreciate. She definitely put my mind and heart at ease and I will definitely be requesting her assistance again. Thank you, Analiese, for being so accommodating and making my first experience with rover and delightful one. I definitely recommend her!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. My first furry friend was a rescue puppy that needed to be nursed back to health, which sparked my passion for caring for animals. Over the years, I’ve fostered many dogs and gained hands-on experience with a wide range of personalities, medical needs, and behavioral challenges. I’ve trained both puppies and older dogs alike, understanding that patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement are key at any age. I’m confident, calm, and prepared to handle most situations with care and attentiveness I’m currently a stay-at-home dog mom, which allows me to provide consistent care and attention throughout the day. I occasionally take on side work, but I’m home the majority of the time, so your dog will rarely be left alone. We are a crate-trained household, and I do ask that owners provide their dog’s crate for their stay. If I need to step out briefly, your pup will be safely and comfortably crated in their own familiar space. Otherwise, they’ll enjoy plenty of companionship, supervision, and engagement throughout the day. We also have a spacious yard that offers safe outdoor time and plenty of room to play and burn off energy. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in yours. In my home, we provide a secure and structured environment designed to help dogs feel comfortable and relaxed. Our yard is fully fenced, and I supervise all outdoor time. I go outside multiple times throughout the day with the dogs — whether it’s for potty breaks, play sessions, or simply relaxing outdoors. Depending on the weather and your dog’s energy level, we may spend anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour outside playing games like tug-of-war or fetch. After playtime, dogs can cooloff comfortably inside with air conditioning. My dog is gentle, especially with smaller dogs, and stays close to me outdoors. I carefully monitor all interactions to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. When it comes to feeding, I follow each pet’s established routine. While my dog free-feeds when alone, I understand that many dogs do best on a schedule, and I am happy to follow your specific feeding instructions. Clear communication, supervision, and consistency are the foundation of the care I provide. I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own
“First off I have never had anyone stay at my house to sit Mattis. I am very particular of my personal space more so allowing a stranger into my house while O was away for thousands of miles. I did not know that Leonard only provided sitting at one’s home here in Hawaii (in Texas he boards). However, after reading Leonard’s reviews, and realizing this, I decided to get outside my comfort zone and allow a stranger into my house, based on his past reviews. After having Leonard come by the house to meet Madison and to show him around to set expectations, I felt much much more ease. However, the doubt and concern were still there. Leonard not only met but he exceeded way above and beyond my expectations this experience. My entire house to include the common areas and the room for Leonard to sleep was completely intact. Walking into my house it felt like nobody had been there. Mattis was well cared for, did not smell, was in great spirits, and appeared to have been well taken care of. Leonard understood the little nuisances when taking Mattis out and the small details on how Mattis reacts to other dogs to include lizards LOL. I 100% recommend Leonard to anyone needing attention to detail and love looking after their pupper. Leonard is a good man, gentle, caring, and all around respectful when staying at your home. He will communicate as much or as little as you want. I left for a week and returned to my house exactly how I left it and maybe even better than as if I was here. Mahalo nui loa Leonard🤙🫶”

“Excellent service from Alexis for our pup. Very trustworthy and took great care of our four-legged family member. Would highly recommend her for others looking for pet care!”

“The best!! She treated our pups like her own. Lots of updates and very cute pictures. This was my first time using rover for pet care so I was a bit worried but the dogs felt comfortable with Yasmeen right away! Got a rover and pup photoshoot all in one.”

“Asking Arianna to house sit and care for our dog and two cats was the best decision. She cared for our pets like her own and was very communicative. Arianna helped to relieve my anxiety about being away by answering my questions promptly and with reassuring information. It was obvious from the pictures, videos and the behavior of my pets when we got home that they enjoyed their time with her. We highly recommend Arianna and will be asking for help over and over again.”
About: I’ve cared for pets almost my entire life and have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities. “Simeon was great! We met before booking which helped ease our nervousness! Simeon spent 10 days with Luna, walking her and making sure she was loved, fed, and had water while we were away. He kept in contact with lots of updates and was willing to go above and beyond to care for her! No complaints!”

“We have two grown dogs and a puppy, so Annabelle definitely had her hands full, but she did great. She stayed at our house. The dogs totally fell in love with her. Can’t wait to use her again.”

About: I grew up on a farm and have had dogs of every shape and size my entire life. I have experience with dogs with diabetes and am comfortable giving them their shots. I worked with horses so large animals do not scare me. I am willing to drive to any part of the island but I am located in Ewa Beach so please allow grace for traffic if you are townside. I have an elderly dog and young cat in my home so all animals must pass a flea inspection and have recent vaccines. If animal does not pass flea inspection they will not be allowed to stay in my home but I will go to yours and help treat them. I am currently unemployed due to medical conditions not letting me be able to be in large crowds. I can adapt my schedule to you and your animals needs because of this and can be available anytime outside of my appointments and treatment days. I have a larger fenced yard in Ewa Beach, I provide filtered water for all animals and treat any animal in my home as if it were my own. In my house animals are allowed on furniture and beds. I will always leave a space cleaner than found, if I am house sitting/pet sitting I will lightly clean the area. If your animal becomes muddy, or dirty under my care I will wash them.

About: I started sitting through my partner on here with her for the last 2 years. I have finally moved onto making my own profile here. I don’t just “watch” pets, I actually get to know them. Every animal has its own personality, routines, and little quirks, and I take the time to understand that so they feel comfortable and safe, not just supervised. With my background in healthcare, I’m naturally attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels .. things a lot of people might miss. That means your pet isn’t just cared for, they’re genuinely looked after. I also keep communication solid. You’ll get real updates, photos, and check-ins so you’re never wondering how things are going unless you choose not to have that. No guessing, no stress. I currently work part-time, so I have a pretty flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet attention. I’m available on weekends and most weekdays after 2 or also before 10am , and I can adjust when needed to fit your pet’s routine I focus on keeping pets comfortable, safe, and stress-free, whether they’re in my home or theirs. I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, and any special instructions. I pay attention to behavior and make sure they’re always supervised, relaxed, and well cared for.

Sarge isn’t always the easiest. He can be a grouchy old man and is very particular about who he likes. He loved Madison from day 1, which obviously put us at ease immediately. Madison didn’t only take phenomenal care of Sarge, she took wonderful care of our home. She is welcome back anytime and we will definitely be booking her in the future. Thank you so much Madison!

Absolutely Amazing! Cynthia is kind, understanding, compassionate and incredibly flexible. For as long as we need a pet sitter, she will be out number 1 go to. She watched our dog and our house for a week while we visited with family outside the state. The house was better than we left it when we got back and our boy was very well cared for. I’m incredibly grateful that we found her and couldn’t be happier with her level of service!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Waianae
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,037 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Waianae. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waianae walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waianae maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waianae choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waianae. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
