Samantha truly went above and beyond for our family. We live on a military installation and she took the extra step and got base access in order to care for our furbabies. She is warm, welcoming, and took amazing care of our furbabies and home. I got daily pictures of a happy dog and cat and came home to a clean home (possibly cleaner than I left it).I cannot say enough wonderful things about Samantha. Highly recommend!

We have two grown dogs and a puppy, so Annabelle definitely had her hands full, but she did great. She stayed at our house. The dogs totally fell in love with her. Can’t wait to use her again.

Jessica was wonderful. My dogs were well cared for and my house was well kept. I have one dog that takes a while to warm up to people and just in the matter of one night she already had him cuddling up to her like he does to us. So grateful! We will definitely be booking her in the future!

About: I’ve cared for pets almost my entire life and have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’m comfortable with energetic puppies who need structure and consistency, as well as older dogs who require patience, gentleness, and a slower pace. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, and any special needs to make sure every pet feels safe and cared for. Whether it’s walks, playtime, basic training, or simply keeping your pet company, I always treat animals like they’re my own. I’m reliable, calm, and very detail-oriented, which helps pets settle in quickly. I take the time to understand each animal’s temperament so they feel comfortable and supported. I’m experienced with puppy basics like crate training, leash manners, and reinforcing good habits. I’m also confident with senior dogs who may need slower walks, medication reminders, or extra monitoring. Communication is a big priority for me—I send plenty of updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to make your pet feel at home and give you complete peace of mind. I’m currently working part time on the weekends and I’m free during the week. So I’ll have plenty of time to care for you’re pets! I make sure every pet feels safe and comfortable. My home has a big fenced yard with nice grass and plenty of space to run around. Inside, there’s lots of room to relax and play too. I keep a close eye on pets, follow their routines, and make sure they feel right at home the whole time.

About: Hi! I’m Jason, a lifelong animal lover with over 22 years of experience caring for pets. I’ve worked with dogs, cats, birds, fish, and ferrets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply lots of love and attention, I’m happy to help. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I always take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. Living on Oʻahu’s North Shore, I have an active lifestyle and love getting outside with dogs that enjoy walks, hikes, or beach adventures (when appropriate). I’m also just as happy spending quiet time with senior pets or cuddly cats who prefer a slower pace. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members, and my goal is to give you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know your pet is happy and in good hands. I’m available all week and on the weekends. My schedule is very flexible. Whether it’s day or night I should be available for animal sitting or walking. We do have a fenced yard and a safe place for your pets to relax/ play in. We are very trusting wh. It comes to taking care of animals.

About: Aloha! I’m Lisa, and caring for pets has always been a joyful part of my life. I grew up with a family dog from my teenage years through early adulthood, and I was responsible for feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of love. More recently, I’ve been trusted to pet sit for friends in their homes, making sure their pets felt safe and cared for while their owners were away. What sets me apart is the attention I give to both pets and their people—I’m happy to send photos, video updates, or do video calls so you feel comfortable and connected while you’re away. Because I work from home in Human Resources, I can be with your pet throughout the day, giving them companionship, care, and attention. I pride myself on being loving, reliable, and attentive to details—whether that’s sticking to a routine, noticing changes in behavior, or giving extra cuddles. My goal is for you to return home to a happy, healthy, and well-cared-for pet. Since I work from home full-time, I can easily integrate pet care into my daily routine. I’m home throughout the day, which means I can provide regular walks, play breaks, and plenty of attention between my work tasks. Mornings and evenings are flexible for longer walks, and I’m available on weekends as well. Your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches—I’ll be around to keep them company, stick to their routine, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make safety, trust, and comfort my top priorities. I follow all instructions carefully—feeding schedules, walks, medications, and play routines—so your pet stays on their normal schedule and feels secure. I’m mindful about keeping your home safe as well, always checking that doors, gates, and leashes are secure. I know that inviting someone into your home is a matter of trust, and I take that responsibility seriously. I respect your space by keeping things tidy, cleaning up after pets, and leaving everything as I found it. While I don’t provide general housekeeping or cleaning services, I do make sure food and water areas are refreshed and that your pet’s space is clean and comfortable. You can also count on me for open communication—I’ll send photos, updates, or video calls if you’d like—so you feel reassured that your pet and home are in caring, reliable hands. Above all, I treat every pet as if they were my own: with love, patience, and attention.

Alexis took so well to my anxious little Ella. She was able to schedule a meeting before my trip and I was so happy to see that my dog warmed up to her right away (my dog is very particular about her people). Alexis made sure that Ella had her daily meals and potty breaks. I even received pictures and videos of their playtimes. I highly recommend Alexis and appreciate her time in making sure my Ella (and my home) was well cared for.

About: Dog sitting perfectly fits my active lifestyle. I'll treat your small/medium pup like family, providing the walks, fetch, and dedicated care I love giving. As a teacher on summer break, my schedule is highly flexible. Pups easily join my morning and evening walks, and I have plenty of open time between errands, reading, and relaxing to provide dedicated attention, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I care for your dog in your home by sticking closely to their established routine. Because my own living space is dog-free, I treat your home with the utmost respect while ensuring your pup gets plenty of personalized care, structured exercise, safe playtime, and tons of love.

About: I have plenty of sitting experience ranging from short stays of 3-4 days to long stays for more than 30 days in Europe for friends and family (first time turning my hobby as a job, if you need recommendation don't hesitate to ask me). Dogs, cats, I get along with them all and can handle any necessary household task. To me pets are members of the family. My purpose is to keep things running smoothly while you're away and provide necessary care. I am extremely responsible and resourceful, so I am usually good at quickly fitting into a new place. I'm also a home and flat owner so I understand the responsibilities that come with both and am super tidy and considerate. I'm an international (from Portugal/Switzerland) part time student at KCC, since I have a lot of virtual classes I spend a lot of time staring at my computer screen and greatly appreciate it when I’ve animals about to distract me. I’ve had some house-sitting cats take the role of supervisor very seriously over the years, and my class mates always enjoy the feline interruptions during video meetings. Animals have always inspired me and spending time with them is one of my favorite things. I’m happy to answer any questions you have, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

We were so lucky to find Annabelle! She came to watch my dog and 2 cats in our home for a week. Due to unfortunate timing, this week also consisted of unprecedented rainstorms and flooding in our community. Despite this challenge, Annabelle cared for the furbabies with compassion and grace, and was extremely communicative with messages and photos throughout her stay. I came home to a clean house and happy pets. We would definitely love to have her visit us again. Mahalo Annabelle!

FAQs for House Sitting - Mokuleia

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Mokuleia on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 876 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mokuleia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mokuleia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mokuleia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mokuleia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mokuleia. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
