“Jessica was a life safer; allowing the whole family to go stateside while being able to leave our two older dogs with someone at home relieved a lot of anxiety. She was a good communicator, took great care of the dogs, and left the house in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend and hope to book her again in the future!”

“Richard was great with Moosey! Fast communicator. Sent pics and videos. Super respectful and left my place clean. Moosey loved him. Definitely would recommend and would book again for my future trips.”

“The best!! She treated our pups like her own. Lots of updates and very cute pictures. This was my first time using rover for pet care so I was a bit worried but the dogs felt comfortable with Yasmeen right away! Got a rover and pup photoshoot all in one.”

About: I grew up on a farm and have had dogs of every shape and size my entire life. I have experience with dogs with diabetes and am comfortable giving them their shots. I am willing to drive to any part of the island but I am located in Ewa Beach so please allow grace for traffic if you are townside. I have an elderly dog and young cat in my home so all animals must pass a flea inspection and have recent vaccines. If animal does not pass flea inspection they will not be allowed to stay in my home but I will go to yours and help treat them. I am currently unemployed due to medical conditions not letting me be able to be in large crowds. I can adapt my schedule to you and your animals needs because of this and can be available anytime outside of my appointments and treatment days. I have a larger fenced yard in Ewa Beach, I provide filtered water for all animals and treat any animal in my home as if it were my own. In my house animals are allowed on furniture and beds. I will always leave a space cleaner than found, if I am house sitting/pet sitting I will lightly clean the area. If your animal becomes muddy, or dirty under my care I will wash them.

About: Hi! I have experience caring for dogs of all kind, with a big focus on large breed dogs including Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and Dobermans. I grew up with 4 Labradors and now have 3 of my own. I’ve raised a number of litters as well. I have a soft spot for the retrievers and Dobermans. I foster smaller dogs occasionally from HHS as well. My dogs are great with others! We have small children in the home, so take that into consideration when requesting boarding if your pet has no experience with children. I am FearFree certified. I work from home, so your pet would never be left alone for long periods of time while in my care for day time or overnight boarding. I would require a temperament check in person before offering boarding for multiple days in my home to ensure lack of aggression. I offer drop in care in your home and waste cleanup as well. Basic baths (wash only, no grooming, trims, or nail clippings) are offered both in my home and yours as well. Please inquire when booking. I have no experience with cats so I cannot offer cat care at this time. Please take note of the following: all dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and flea/heartworm preventative. Proof is not required, but if your dog appears to have fleas or is ill, pickup will be required immediately. I do not offer doggy daycare or boarding for dogs with active diarrhea. If your dog has diarrhea and you did not disclose this during booking, I will require immediate pickup and a sanitation fee of $100 will apply. I offer doggy daycare or boarding for dogs or puppies that are not potty trained (potty trained = holds poop/pee until outside) on a case by case basis. Additional fees apply. If your dog or puppy is not potty trained and you did not disclose this during booking, I will require immediate pickup and a sanitation fee of $100 will apply. Note: the use of puppy pads is considered not potty trained. Please let me know if you have additional questions or requests. Thank you. I work from home, so I am available all times. Your pets will get lots of attention and play time while homing with me. Drop ins to your home will get plenty of love and play as well! I keep my pets inside the house with me and go outside for bathroom and open play time! We love fetch around here, and the dogs love chasing one another. Caring for pets in your home would 100% follow your requests and instruction!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Akupu
Asking Arianna to house sit and care for our dog and two cats was the best decision. She cared for our pets like her own and was very communicative. Arianna helped to relieve my anxiety about being away by answering my questions promptly and with reassuring information. It was obvious from the pictures, videos and the behavior of my pets when we got home that they enjoyed their time with her. We highly recommend Arianna and will be asking for help over and over again.
Jessica was wonderful. My dogs were well cared for and my house was well kept. I have one dog that takes a while to warm up to people and just in the matter of one night she already had him cuddling up to her like he does to us. So grateful! We will definitely be booking her in the future!

Katie was absolutely amazing with our pups! She took them to the park and on walks daily to get all their energy out and they absolutely loved her! Should was also amazing with communication and sending lots of photos!! I can't wait to book with her again! 11/10 recommend!!

Shy is exceptional. She goes above and beyond to take care of your beloved family member and I always feel at ease knowing she is taking care of my dog. I would recommend her to anyone that needs dog sitting services above anyone else! She is attentive and thorough. Thank you for watching my boy for the holidays and Merry Christmas!

As of August 2026, there are 1,022 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Akupu. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Akupu walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Akupu maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Akupu choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
