“Emily was a great cat sitter: reliable, competent, and on time. She was always able to find my shy elderly cat and pill him every 8 hours. I was always confident that my 3 cats were well cared for. She even anticipated my need for an additional appointment. I would definitely book her in the future.”

“This is the 2nd time Nicole has taken care of our dog, Kai and she has been wonderful with her. We are so appreciative of her help even when Kai is a handful! Thank you, Nicole! We will definitely be reaching out to you again in the future”

“Sarah is an excellent dog sitter! We have used Sarah's services for over a year, and her care has been consistently outstanding, especially with managing our dog's specific needs. Her communication skills are top-notch; we always receive frequent updates. It's not easy finding someone you trust with your pet, but Sarah is the best. She is professional, and dependable. Our dog is always so excited to see her, which tells us everything we need to know. We come home to a happy, well-cared-for dog every time. We are grateful for her excellent service and the peace of mind she provides. Highly recommended”

“Amanda is kind and caring. I trust her to care for my precious pets. We’ve used her services twice and are quite pleased. I highly recommend her. Thank you Amanda/Rover.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Ashley did a great job with my puppy. She is so kind and was proactive in asking where items were in case he had an accident and cleaned up his mess. I would definitely book her again.”
“I feel so lucky to have found my new dog sitter Jamie! I was very happy to be able to leave my Betty in the comfort of our home. From the moment I met Jamie, I knew she was a devoted dog mom such as myself. She gave Betty her medicine, and spent quality time with her several times a day. I absolutely loved receiving wonderful pictures of Betty while on vacation. I could see in my Betty's eyes that she was happy being with Jamie while I was gone. Hurricane Henri did not stop Jamie from coming to my house. She traveled to my house during the hurricane to care for Betty and provided me with updates on my power outage. I have high expectations and Jamie exceeded those expectations!”

About: During COVID my family got a puppy! While my parents had to return to work as essential workers, I stayed home and enjoyed my time with a young puppy who had a lot to learn! I have experience with puppies and young dogs that have lots of energy, and love to play! Currently I am a student in graduate school. I am adjusting to my schedule, but I am very flexible. Pet care fits as I would love to hang out with a furry friend for a couple hours while they get the time they need to exercise. Feeding times are a must for all animals and I completely understand that dogs/cats are routine animals! This also means that they require feeding at regular times and exercise!

“Wendy did an excellent job caring for Austin while we were on vacation. He was much happier when we returned, Wendy let him out of his outdoor garage/kennel combination and he was able to run and play. Water and cereal were full, and the kennel clean. Wendy arrived and left at agreed upon timeframes, and did a truly exceptional job! We were extremely pleased, and now we know someone we can trust to take care of things when we're away.”

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Voluntown stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
