“Kristine was wonderful with Sasha’s care and very attentive to her needs. She was very communicative and sent photos and texts updating me and giving me peace of mind. She even checked my mail to make sure it wasn’t being delivered and helped with a package that was delivered much sooner than expected. She went truly above and beyond and it’s very apparent she cares about animals! I highly recommend Kristine and plan to use her services again.”

About: My experience includes working with horses, donkeys, sheep, chickens, fish, reptiles, birds and more. I have my own dog Paul, and I've owned dogs and cats in the past as well. My most recent certification is in wildife rehabilitation, and I work part-time as an educator at an aquarium. I surround myself with animals and I hope to do so for the rest of my life. I work on Sundays and Mondays, volunteer on Thursdays, and may be called in on other days. I am responsible for my own animals at home as well. As long as I have time to plan for animal care for others, I will make that care a priority. Clearly written instructions on specific care for your animals is appreciated, but I can use my knowledge and experience to make the right calls if anything comes up.
“I am so excited Heidii is a Rover sitter!! She takes care of my pets like they are her own. I am so appreciative of the beautiful pictures and all the attention they receive wile I am away. I’m incredibly grateful!!!”

“Elizabeth is great. She went above and beyond. Bud likes her and she doesn’t just do tasks, she gives him love and attention (and catnip!). This is our second time having Elizabeth care for Bud and we are thrilled to have someone close by who is reliable and thorough. Getting the pictures from their visits makes me miss him a little less when we’re away.”

“Deborah did a wonderful job watching my dogs, Pip & Oliver. I contacted her at the last minute and she responded quickly. I am so grateful to Deborah for her professionalism and obvious love of animals. Would enthusiastically recommend!”

“Mary was so great with my dog, will be using her as my regular dog sitter going forward. Was super attentive and interactive with him from the first meet and greet. Great communication from her and loved the check ins she sent while she came to visit, very glad I found somebody so happy to spend some time with him when I’m at work. 10/10 recommend!”

“Miranda was an amazing cat sitter! 11/10 would recommend. While we were gone, she was able to divide and administer heart failure medication for one of our cats, cleaned up hairballs, made sure they had food & water, and kept their litter boxes clean. She was very communicative and we loved her photo updates and her drop in descriptions.”

“This is the 2nd time Nicole has taken care of our dog, Kai and she has been wonderful with her. We are so appreciative of her help even when Kai is a handful! Thank you, Nicole! We will definitely be reaching out to you again in the future”

About: I’ve taken care of friends and family’s furry friends for the last 15 years. They have relied on me to walk, feed, and take care of their pets often. Until recently, I had my own senior dog and had taken care of puppies, adults, seniors, and even dogs with disabilities. I currently work part time and am able to fit in walks or drop in visits around my regular daily schedule. I usually only know my schedule two weeks in advance. I am not able to take care of your pets in my home but am happy and able to keep them comfortable in their own space!
About: I love all dogs and am happy to adapt to the needs of each dog individually. I grew up with dogs and now have my own who I raised and trained from when he was a puppy! I currently don’t work full time so I’m able to meet flexible needs! Can’t get enough of dogs and hoping to help out when folks need! I’m easy going and very communicative so I’m excited to meet the needs of you and your dog whatever they may be in your home or neighborhood.

I currently have a large cat of my own. I have trained high energy dogs and have experience walking them through the city. I have also been known to walk my cat on a harness. I currently work full time. I am able to check in or walk your animal after 5:30pm on the Monday- Thursday. My time is much more flexible on Fridays. I also have a flexible schedule on the weekends. I will treat your animals as if they are my own. Whatever requirements that are needed I will accommodate for to the best of my ability.

Kristine was absolutely AMAZING watching my cats, I truly cannot recommend her enough! From the very beginning, she was communicative, professional, and so clearly caring. But what really stood out is how much she went above and beyond. She didn’t just stop in to feed them, she genuinely spent time with them, made sure they were comfortable, and paid attention to their little personalities and routines. She kept me updated with thoughtful messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious my cats felt safe and happy with her. On top of that, she handled everything so responsibly and even took care of extra little things without being asked. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pets like their own, and that’s exactly what Kristine did. I came home to relaxed, well-cared-for cats and a house just as I left it. I would book her again in a heartbeat, she is truly exceptional! 🐱💛

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
