“This was our second time having Dustinn and Valery look after our cats. We couldn’t have asked for better people to look after our cats. Our cats love when they come and are always happy when we come back. We love getting the pictures of what our kitties are doing and I’m spending time with them. We couldn’t recommend better people to look after your pets.”

“Lara is simply amazing. She is trustworthy and my dogs LOVE her, they get really happy around her and are very comfortable. I would absolutely have her take care of my dogs anytime I need to go out in the future. Not to mention her dog training experience makes her extra amazing. She communicates/is responsive, she provides updates, will notate instructions, she stays in top of it Super responsible.”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs, from puppies to older ones too. I have experience with different sizes and temperaments as well. I recognize each dog behaves differently, and will work with what they need! I’m currently working part time, so I have lots of flexibility to meet you and your pets needs. I’m available for same day bookings as well! I understand that all dogs have different needs, and that is something I want to prioritize with your pets. I can cater to what they need, and will respect that.
“Anya did a great job. I was feeling very nervous and worried about leaving my kitten at home, but she was able to help with constant pictures and videos showing how good my cat was really doing. She played with a cat a lot and kept her clean and fed. I'm really happy with her work and will definitely be asking her to help again!”
About: I have 10 plus years of experience taking care of family and neighbors pets. I am happy to help in any way! If I could have a pet I would, my apartment doesn’t allow it so this is a great way for me to get my pet and animal loving fix. I have my own online business so I am very flexible throughout the week. I’m quick to respond and I’m happy to fit peoples schedules into mine. Im happy to follow whatever schedule is needed for specific homes and pets. I want the animals to feel safe and have the care they need.
About: I worked as a nanny for over 10 years which included pet care. Anything from daily walks and feeding to overnight extended care. I love the chance to make new furry friends and share my favorite walks. I work remotely so have full flexibility to work when I want and when is best for your furry fmaily members. I find caregiving to be a win win. I make a new friend and have someone to go on walks with and pets get the love and attention they need. The health and safety of your pet is number one for me. I have a large area in my home where animals can relax with sunlight, houseplants, and water. For care in your home, I’m happy to follow whatever protocols you have established. Nothing is too niche, trust me. My childhood dog wouldn't eat his dinner unless I 'sprinkled special flavour powder' (I just mimed grabbing something from the cupboard) over his food. It's important to me that you and your loved one's routine is maintained as much as possible.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was very young, including watching neighbors dogs while they were away. More recently during my first year of college I walked two borzois a few times a week during the summer. I also stayed overnight taking care of a friend’s lab for an entire week. I am currently not working as I just applied to physician assistant programs, and am waiting to hear back. I am available every day of the week, but most likely not weekends. I have a car so I am able to transport your pets if needed. I am willing to drive to client’s homes to care for pets since I unfortunately am not allowed pets in my apartment.
About: I've taken care of animals (especially dogs) since before I can remember! Not only was I in charge of the family Farm but I also took care of my entire neighborhoods dogs during my childhood. I even have experience on newborn puppy care as well as any special needs dogs, and the treatment that they may need. I worked in the emergency medical field so you can feel at peace knowing your pet is in safe hands when they're with me. I'm doing school online, so I'm available any time that's needed and it shouldn't interfere with my studies. I do Rover as income while doing school I currently don't live in a pet friendly apartment but I'm more than willing to give your pet quality care from the comfort of their own home.
“Taylor was very thorough during our initial meeting discussing our cat and what to expect from Patsy. We went over “personality” as well as feeding and caring. We felt very comfortable having Taylor cat sit for us. I highly recommend her.”

About: I come from a “dog” family and have been around and cared for dogs since I was little! I have experience with various breeds from dachshunds to GSPs to golden doodles and beyond! I now have a dog of my own who I have house-trained and obedience-trained to be well behaved and well loved. I love every animal like my own and am patient with wherever they are at in their journey. I have a 10am-6pm job from M-F which gives me flexibility throughout the day to move things around and take care of your dog! Weekends are open! I am living in an apartment and utilize my second room to crate my puppy at night. I can easily crate your puppy in our apartment or accommodate to make them most comfortable. We do not have a backyard, but have many grassy areas directly outside of the stairwell and around the complex. Due to having my own high-energy puppy, I spend a lot of time outside, on walks, and at the park to allow for sufficient play time throughout the day that also accompanies play time and mental stimulation activities inside. When I am not home, I have a camera which I can view from my phone and check once an hour to ensure that the dogs are doing well. I am not gone for longer than 4 hours when I am not at work. I am willing to care for your dogs from your home as well.

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats my whole life. My mom was a veterinary Tech so I’ve always been around animals. I currently raise four special needs cats of my own. I am a tattoo apprentice currently, and I make my own schedule, so I am more than willing to work within your needs for whatever works for both you and your furry friend! I have tons of experience with animal care and promise and very hands on experience with your loved on. they will be loved on and completely supervised. I promise to treat them as one of my own!

About: I had a dog all growing up and would take care of him, making sure to feed him, walk him, and play with him each day. Even taught him some cool tricks! I’ve been able to watch friends and family’s dogs over the years when they go out of town and things. I absolutely love dogs and would love to help you take care of yours! I’m currently doing a gap year before going to physical therapy school while my husband is at school (he won’t be helping with the pet care). I’m looking to find a part time job but in the meantime would love to do some pet care during the week. I’m open weekdays most hours do the day, and open most weekends depending on when. I don’t live in an apartment that allows for pets, but would happily take care of your pets at your home. I could crate them at my apartment if needed and take your pet outside to play and for walks.
About: I worked for over a year at K9 Lifeline, a dog daycare and boarding facility in Draper, UT. I have worked with dogs of all ages, from 8 weeks to 17+ years, and all temperaments, friendly to aggressive. I know how to manage play between dogs as well as set boundaries. I am determined to make friends with all dogs I meet, and am willing to do it by their timeline with patience and love. I am a full-time student at Utah Valley University (UVU). I am typically in school from 10am - 2:30pm during the week. I am free to come be with any pets other than during class times, and am pretty flexible as to when you need me there. I have experience handling dogs on leash with other dogs present or by themselves. I know how to follow specific food instructions, including medications that need to be given at a certain time or directly after eating.

About: I love spending time with animals! For years, I've cared for the pets of family, friends, and neighbors, gaining experience with a variety of personalities and routines. From active poodles to quiet cats, I've learned to adapt to each animal's unique needs, whether that means long walks and play-time, sticking closely to meal and medicine schedules, or simply providing calm companionship. Also, I grew up with an English Shorthaired Pointer and have first-hand experience with all aspects of responsible pet ownership. I am a full time graduate student, so I’m most available in the evenings and on weekends. However, I am happy to make an effort to work with your timing to fulfill your pet’s care needs. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities! My current housing doesn't allow me to host pets, but I am more than happy to provide care through house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks. When caring for your pet, I am detail-oriented, attentive, and thorough. I follow all instructions closely to maintain routine and ensure their well-being. I can adhere to timely feeding schedules, administer medication, and reinforce training. I know that each pet and household is unique, so I am flexible in providing the care that best suits your circumstances. I respect your home and pet as if they were my own and prioritize clear communication to ensure that your needs and wants are met. I can provide updates and photos as often as desired so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for!
About: I’ve been a dog owner for 6 years with my Shar Pei, so I know firsthand how much love, patience, and attention our pets deserve. I’ve also spent the last 2 years caring for two cats, which has taught me that every pet has their own personality, routine, and way of showing affection. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, litter box cleanup, belly rubs, or just keeping them company while you’re away, I’ll make sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for. I’m patient with shy pets, happy to follow specific routines, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos so you can relax knowing your furry friend is in good hands. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I make sure I have enough time to give each pet the attention they deserve. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, playtime, drop-ins, and overnight stays so your pet’s normal routine stays as consistent as possible. I’m also flexible with weekends and will always communicate clearly about availability. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. I follow all instructions you leave for feeding, walks, medications, routines, and any house rules. I keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime and make sure doors, gates, leashes, and other areas are secure. When I’m in your home, I’ll treat your space with respect and keep everything clean. You’ll also get photos and updates so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
