“Stefanile is a great sitter. She was incredibly accommodating and patient in dealing with my dog—a rather shy, introverted, and somewhat challenging dog. Given her deep understanding of canine personalities and traits, as well as her extensive experience as a sitter, I was able to entrust Chaco to her care with peace of mind. She sent updates and photos, making communication very easy. Thank you!”

“Peter & his Fiance were just fantastic with my large energetic dog. My first meet up with them put my mind at ease - a very good vibe. Great communication & flexible. But best of all the dog instantly bonded with them - something he doesn't do with most people. He absolutely loves going there & comes home happy & tired. I'll definitely be rebooking & highly recommend”

“Sant was absolutely wonderful with Westley! He was incredibly attentive and took great care of him while we were away. His communication was excellent throughout his stay, and he regularly sent us pictures and videos, which really gave us peace of mind knowing he was happy and well cared for.”

“Here's a suggested review based on your feedback: "I cannot recommend Liam highly enough! He exceeded all of our expectations. Soju absolutely loved staying at his place and learned valuable skills like going to the bathroom outside and socializing with other dogs. We're thrilled we chose him to care for our baby. Despite our flight being delayed, he patiently waited for us to pick Soju up late at night. Thank you immensely for making Soju's first experience away from us so enjoyable!"”

“Karen is great! We received updates with photos of Max. Max really had a great time with Karen, especially because of taking him out for a hike! Karen is also very flexible and responsive.”

“I was quite nervous leaving my dogs with anyone, but Sally could not have been a better fit for my little guys! Not only was her house a place they instantly felt comfortable, Sally send many photos and videos showing how much fun they were having. My dogs are social and smallish, so it was important they had enough space. Sally fed them separately, and they had plenty of beds and couches to lounge on (and boy did they!). I picked them up yesterday and they were exhausted from all the playing - it's as if they came home from a week at camp! 100% recommend Sally and will book again!! Manny”

“I had a great experience with Vanson! He provides a very safe space for drop-offs and has a wonderful, pet-friendly backyard. Vanson has a great attitude and kept me at ease with frequent updates and plenty of photos. Highly recommended!”

About: Hi! I’m one of those people who can’t walk past a dog without saying hi. If I see a dog while I’m out, I’m probably the person asking, “Can I pet your dog?” My child is exactly the same way! We’re both naturally drawn to dogs and genuinely enjoy having them around. Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Three of my own dogs were with me for 16, 16, and 18 years, and they truly became members of the family. I understand how much our dogs mean to us and how important it is to feel comfortable with the person caring for them when we can’t be there. Our current dog, Pancake, is a rescue and a small, friendly girl who enjoys having company. She’s an important part of our family and will be your pup’s little host during their stay! I also volunteered at two animal shelters, where I spent time caring for dogs with different personalities and needs. I am patient, attentive, and respectful of each dog’s individual temperament. I have a large, fully fenced yard where dogs can safely enjoy outdoor time. My home is a good fit for dogs who are comfortable around children and other dogs. Because I have a child at home 50% of the time, your dog must be comfortable and safe around children. I also want every dog who stays here to feel comfortable with Pancake, so I take introductions and meet-and-greets seriously. ❤️ What I Want for Your Dog I want your dog to feel like they are staying in a home where they are genuinely cared for, not simply being dropped off somewhere for the night. I’ll take the time to learn your dog’s routine, personality, favorite things, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. Whether your pup wants to run around the yard, play with Pancake, follow us around the house, or curl up somewhere cozy, I’ll respect their individual personality. During their stay, I’ll provide: 🐾 A comfortable home environment 🐾 A large, fully fenced yard 🐾 Regular potty breaks and outdoor time 🐾 Attention, companionship, and affection 🐾 Meals according to your instructions 🐾 Their normal routine as much as possible 🐾 Photo updates so you can see how they’re doing 🌿 New to Rover, Not New to Caring for Dogs I’m just getting started on Rover, so I’m offering introductory pricing while I build my profile and get to know local families. While I’m new to Rover, caring for dogs is something I’ve been doing throughout my life. I’m looking forward to getting to know some wonderful dogs and their people and hopefully becoming someone you feel comfortable calling whenever you need a home away from home for your pup. I’d love to meet you and your dog and see if we’re a good fit! 🐶❤️ I’m available for boarding at evenings and weekends. All-day-Thursdays are also available. Walks from 6-7 a.m. - Mondays and Tuesdays Walks from 5-6 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. - Mondays and Tuesdays My yard is fully fenced, my dog is friendly, and the dogs will be welcome inside the home and on furniture as well. I really want them to feel they are in they home-away-form-home
“Huda was great! Milo loved his long weekend staying with Huda! Milo got to meet some new friends on his walks and Huda gave plenty of updates and photos while Milo stayed with her!”

“Natalie was amazing. She took such great care of my dog and kept me updated with pictures and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. I really appreciate how reliable, kind, and attentive she was. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pet. Thank you so much! 🐾🩵”

“Justine is awesome overall! She is kind, caring, pays great attention to detail and is very responsive. Xander was with Justine for a week and we were at peace knowing that he was with someone who cared about him as much as we do! Additionally, her pup Bodi just wants to play with your dog :) On her end, Justine also kept us in the loop the whole time with regular pics and videos and went above and beyond in caring for Xander with regular walks, play time and park time! I recommend her with no reservations and would happily board Xander with her again.”

“Kolten and Julia were great pet sitters for our mini schnauzer, Luna! They cared for her as if she were their own dog. They made her feel right at home from the very first moment! They kept us updated on her activities the whole time we were away. We would definitely book future adventures with them!”

“This was a great experience!! This was the first time our dog stayed with someone we didn't know and Ruth made the process so easy. We felt so relaxed knowing our dog was not only well taken care of but loved! Ruth sent constant updates and photos to keep us informed. We would definitely return and highly recommend Ruth!!”

“Lauren was professional, friendly, and kept us updated with pictures throughout the long weekend with Biscotti! He absolutely loved his time with her and they’re definitely new best friends now. We’ll absolutely be using Lauren again to keep our pup happy, comfy, and cozy whenever we’re away.”

“Connie is so kind and accommodating! She was able to take care of our little guy with very short notice and from what I can tell, he loved his stay! He seemed happy and well nourished after I picked him up; something I can't say about his past stays at various kennels. Connie is #1 in my book, I couldn't give her a higher recommendation!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vine Hill
Kolten and Julia were great pet sitters for our mini schnauzer, Luna! They cared for her as if she were their own dog. They made her feel right at home from the very first moment! They kept us updated on her activities the whole time we were away. We would definitely book future adventures with them!

Rachel was great with Roxy! She sent me tons of pictures and updates which I appreciated. She was very thoughtful with her approach getting to know my dog, since my dog is very shy. She was very flexible with my work schedule as well which was super helpful as someone really busy with work. Her house also seemed like a very calm and spacious environment for dogs. I will be using her again in the future.

Karen is a very competent, responsible dog lover who took excellent care of our Labradoodle while we were out of town. He enjoyed hanging out with Karen’s dogs and sharing early morning walks with them each day. Karen was very communicative, and we loved getting her daily updates and pics. We’d highly recommend her to care for your pup!!!!

Vanson has been great for our two dogs! Both can be quite shy and fearful of new people but they warmed up to Vanson very quickly. We have used both his day care and boarding services and he has been very reliable, responsive and communicative. The dogs always seem to have been very well cared for and at ease when I pick them up. We will definitely continue to use Vanson’s services and would highly recommend him to others as well!

This was our first time using Lori and she took amazing care of our 15 year old Havanese. Kip can be shy but Lori made her feel comfortable right away. She sent updates and photos so we knew she was adjusting well. We would definitely use her again, but she is moving to a different area so we won't be able to!
Priya is absolutely the best! We left our puppy in her care for one week while we were on vacation. She stayed in communication with us throughout our trip and made sure we knew how our little guy was doing. We will definitely hire Priya again as she has a great combination of knowledge, empathy, kindness and generosity. We feel lucky to have found Priya and to have now her in our circle of trusted friends.

Reva did an amazing job caring for our dog, Sir! Her communication was excellent throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Sir came back happy, relaxed, and clearly very well taken care of. We will definitely be booking with Reva again—highly recommend! 🐾💛

Tamiko was awesome! We took a trip and was kept updated with pictures and videos giving us peace of mind. Even when our return flight was delayed and we were prevented from picking up our little guy right on time, Tamiko was understanding and gracious! Our frenchie came home happy and exhausted from all the fun he had :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Vine Hill home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Vine Hill.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Vine Hill sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
