About: In our home your dog will receive a lot of love from our family and companionship from our two dogs. We have a golden retriever and a Bernese mountain dog. They are both 3 years old. We have bred each of them once and are used to having small puppies around. We have a large, fenced backyard for your dog to play safely. Your dog will be part of the family during their stay. We will take them on daily walks and will receive lots of cuddles. Besides intermittent outings, I will be home with your dog, the whole time. I have had dogs for many years, but I have dog sat dogs for the last two years. Your dog will be a part of our family. I homeschool my children and so we are home most of the time. We do have outings but are usually back within 4 hours. I can usually accommodate our schedule if your pet needs care more often than that, if I know in advance. I have a fenced back yard and two dogs of my own. I can also crate the dogs or separate the different areas of the house if there are any safety concerns.

About: I bring a lifetime of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds—from cats and dogs to birds, bunnies, and even livestock. I grew up working alongside an equine veterinarian and have spent years collaborating closely with small animal vets, giving me a strong foundation in animal health and behavior. Whether your pet needs meds, special care, or just a little extra love, I specialize in supporting animals with medical needs and take pride in being calm, compassionate, and highly attentive. I’m not just a sitter—I’m a lifelong animal caregiver who treats every pet like family. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which means I’m able to give pets the time, attention, and care they need throughout the day. Whether it's midday walks, medication schedules, or just extra snuggles, I’m consistently present and available to keep your pets happy and stress-free. My routine is built around their needs—because their comfort and well-being come first. 🐾 In my home, pets enjoy a safe, secure environment with a fully fenced yard and plenty of supervised playtime. My own friendly dogs are always happy to welcome new furry friends, but if your pet prefers one-on-one attention, I can provide a quiet, relaxed space just for them. I tailor the experience to match each pet’s personality and comfort level—whether they love to socialize or just want a calm companion.

About: I have owned at least one dog for almost 20 years. For the last 8 years, my husband and I have owned and trained Labrador retrievers and gun dogs. I enjoy spreading our knowledge to those around us to include basic obedience. I have an outdoor area set up to take care of multiple pets. I currently work from home full time and am home all day long so your pet will be closely monitored and taken care of with ease. I have a fenced yard and outdoor kennel areas. I also have a large area inside my home where your pet can be kept inside. I do prefer crating all pets at night for their safety. Whether you prefer your pet to be inside or have no preference whether your pet stays inside or outside, we have both options. I have multiple pets in our home. **Please note if you are a new client and have not stayed with us, I do require proof of up to date pets vaccinations. This can be a quick photo of their records or a link to their records.

About: Thank you for letting us love on your four-legged friend while you are gone! We are a family of 4 and feel that a home isn't complete without a fur baby to love on and we would love to open our home to your dog while you are away. We have experience with dogs of all ages, medical needs, chewing habits, and anything else you can imagine! We have our own dog, Rey, and know the importance of finding a safe and loving place for him to stay when we need to travel without him. Rey is a 12 year old chimatian (a chihuahua/dalmatian mix) about 20 pounds in size and has done great with the various dogs that have come and gone from our home. I am a retired teacher now working from home so I am able to provide potty breaks and cuddles on demand. With Rey and two kids in our home (the youngest is 13), your little love is sure to get lots of love and attention, including walks around our peaceful neighborhood. We also have a large garden that is securely fenced in so even escape artists can’t escape. You can rest assured that your pup will be happy and well-cared for while in our home! I work from home so my schedule is fairly flexible. I do have kids of my own so occasionally I am off with them at an event or practice for a short time. I have a fully secured back garden and dogs are allowed on the furniture (if you like) while they stay with us. We do have stairs going up but I am able to block them if needed. While in your home I will be sure to open and close doors carefully and allow time for your pet to approach me.

About: I’ve shared my life with dogs and cats for as long as I can remember, including adopted and rescue animals of different ages, personalities and needs. I have special experience caring for senior and medically fragile pets. I adopted a very elderly, sick dog who required frequent medication and attentive daily care, and I also cared for my cat through medical needs that required consistent medication. I’m currently a devoted dog mom to Graci, a two-year-old Labrador, and a proud grandmom to Zoey, a two-year-old mini Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix. Caring for animals has given me hands-on experience with walks, feeding routines, playtime, medication schedules, close supervision and helping pets feel safe and comfortable. I understand that rescue animals and senior pets may need additional patience, consistency and time to build trust. I’m also a retired federal professional known for being dependable, observant and calm in unexpected situations. I understand that trusting someone with your pet—and your home—is a very personal decision. I will follow your instructions carefully, communicate consistently and provide plenty of photos and updates so you can feel completely comfortable while you’re away. 🐾 Important Booking Policies & Rates 🐾 Please review my standard hours and specialized rates before booking: * Extended Daycare Policy: My standard daycare rate covers up to 10 hours of care. Any daycare stay that exceeds 10 hours will automatically be upgraded to my Boarding Rate for that day. * Puppy Care Fee: Because puppies require extra attention, frequent potty breaks, and constant supervision, a +$15 puppy fee applies per day/visit for any dog under 1 year old. This fee applies to all Daycare, Boarding, and Dog Walking requests. Note: Rover automatically calculates the puppy rate for some services, but if it doesn't apply correctly to your request, I will manually modify the total to reflect these policies before finalizing the booking. Thank you for understanding! “Continuing my professional development” sounds more natural and polished than “pursuing additional courses.” I’m currently taking a professional break while continuing my professional development, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide your pet with attentive, loving care. I’m home much of the day and can easily accommodate feeding, playtime, medication, cuddles, and your pet’s normal routine. Safety and comfort are always my priorities. I have one friendly Labrador who gets along well with other dogs and can be crated or kept separately if needed. My neighborhood is great for safe, leashed walks, and I carefully follow each pet parent’s instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, and routines.

About: Hi! I’m an experienced and passionate animal lover who truly enjoys caring for pets of all kinds. I have hands-on experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, snakes, and small rodents, and I’m comfortable caring for animals of all ages, from energetic youngsters to sweet seniors. Pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy because I love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I always take the time to follow your care instructions carefully and give them the attention they’re used to at home. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to provide dependable care and be available when you need it. I also make sure to send regular photo and video updates, because I know how reassuring it is to see your pet happy and doing well. You can expect your pet to be treated with patience, kindness, and plenty of affection while they’re with me. My goal is always to make them feel relaxed and cared for. (Bonus: I’m also very experienced in the important skill of telling pets they’re “the best boy/girl ever” at least 17 times per visit.) Pet sitting is my only source of income, so that being said I have no schedule holding me back from being there for your fur babies when needed. Providing daily food, treats (rewarding), and/or medications. Walks for exercise. Dog toys, i have squeaky toys, crackle toys, tug toys, and bones of all sizes!

About: I’m a full-time work-from-home professional. Unless I’m traveling for work, I’m home with the pups all day, giving them plenty of attention, love, and care. Please message me for availability—my schedule can often be adjusted to fit your needs. A Few Things to Know: - I focus on dogs 45 lbs and under to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable. - Dogs will be staying in my home, not a separate kennel area. - I offer free pick up and drop off services so you have one less thing to worry about! Pick up and Drop off must be during daylight hours. Otherwise you will need to pick up or drop off your pup. Pick ups and drop offs must be before 8pm. - If you’d prefer your dog to be the only guest during their stay, just let me know—I’ll do my best to accommodate. - I’ve been petsitting longer than I’ve had my dogs so they’ve been raised with different dogs coming and going and love dogs of all sizes! - I do have chickens and ducks so if your dogs have any prey tendencies, please let me know so I can keep them separated. What Your Dog Can Expect: - Free access to a fully fenced yard for playtime. - Couch privileges and plenty of indoor snuggles. - A daily rhythm of breakfast, play, naps, dinner, and evening exercise. - Lots of dog beds to choose from so everyone always has a comfy space - Walks and leisurely outings if your pup enjoys them. Why Choose Me? I’ve had dogs all my life, and honestly—I prefer pets to people! My own pack is spoiled, and I’ll treat your dog like the king or queen they are. With me, your pup will get more than just care—they’ll get genuine love, attention, and a home-away-from-home. Send me a message today—I’d love to meet your furry best friend! I work from home full time so I can accommodate all schedules and needs! Usually the day starts with breakfast and a little playtime, followed by afternoon napping and then dinner. More playtime after dinner- to make sure everyone gets their exercise needs met. I love all my dogs and yours too! Dogs are given free access to fully fenced outdoor yard and free access to inside, including being on furniture.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Viewtown commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Yes, you can find sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. Many sitters can respond to messages in under an hour.

To find the fastest available match, message multiple sitters with a recent "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
