Hannah stayed with my high energy dog for 2 weeks. She provided regular updates and had no issues. House was just as I left it when I returned. Dog didn't seem like she missed me at all!

Cassidy was great! We have three animals, and she tools great care of them all. Minimally, Cassidy is a cat whisperer. Our cat hates everyone outside of our nuclear family, but she somehow coaxed him into cuddle sessions. But more so she made sure the dogs were walked and loved on. We couldn’t recommend her more!

Hannah was so great with Daisy! She followed all of the instructions we left and made sure to bond and make Daisy feel comfortable while my husband and I were gone all week on vacation. She provided us daily updates with pictures and was very communicative, which made it so much easier to be away from Daisy for a whole week. I would definitely recommend Hannah to anyone needing a gentle and attentive dog sitter!

About: My husband and I grew up with family pets and once married we knew we wanted to have a fur baby of our own! I have spent the last 10 years nannying for families with multiple pets of all kinds! From fish tanks, turtles and frogs, to dogs, cats and even chickens! Let us love your fur baby like our own! Send us a message and let’s chat! My husband works from home and I am a stay at home mom, we have a little girl named Georgia, so we ask that you are confident that your animal be comfortable around young children! With our pup constantly on the move we can keep up with yours too! We are up early and can accommodate morning feeding/medication routines. My husband is home during the day and can accommodate evening/medication admin as well. We have play time, quiet time, physical and mental exertion! We have a large fenced in back yard. We allow our pet on furniture and don’t mind if yours joins in on the cuddles! We always prefer to do a meet and greet before hosting your pets, as we know you love them like family! My husband works from home and I am a stay at home mom! We like to keep to schedules with our own dog and will happily follow the schedule your pup is used to! We have a large fenced in back yard that is perfect for running and playing fetch! Or as our dog plays ‘keep-away’. We live in a very safe and quiet neighborhood as well!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kylie watched my dogs and stayed at my home for a week, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My dogs were so comfortable and content when I returned because she made sure they never felt alone while I was away. She clearly gave them so much love, attention, and care. She also took wonderful care of my home. Everything was clean, organized, and exactly as I left it. During the week, an unexpected water issue came up, and Kylie handled it with grace, professionalism, and excellent communication, seeing it through until everything was resolved. Kylie is dependable, caring, professional, and genuinely goes above and beyond. I am extremely happy with her services and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter.

About: We would love to take care of your furry family member while you're away! We will make sure he has a marvelous time with all of us. My husband and I grew up on farms in Kentucky and have loved dogs all our lives. Our kids also love dogs! We have a large fenced yard, and there are lots of walking areas nearby. We would take your dog on a walk or let him romp around the yard. We do have a cat named Eleanor and kids, so it is important that your furry friend be comfortable around cats and children. Eleanor mostly keeps to herself, so as long as your dog doesn't chase or bark at her, things should go fine! Why I love dog sitting We've loved dogs our entire lives. We don’t have a dog at the moment so enjoy caring for pups when their owners are away. About my yard We do have a large fenced yard! My experience administering medication Yes, we are comfortable administering medication. I work from home so am happy to have a furry friend keep me company and get some exercise together. Your pet won’t be lonely! I have a fully fenced yard with lots of space to play and explore. The fenced area is almost 1/2 an acre so plenty of room.

Dina was a huge blessing to us and our dogs. Our dogs are seniors that have medicines, supplements and specific routines that I get nervous about when explaining to new sitters but she handled everything so well and graciously. She went above and beyond in taking great care of our sweet dogs and she had great attention to detail. You can tell she is a true animal lover and it makes us feel more comfortable when traveling knowing someone we can trust is taking care of them and our house. She sent updates and pictures everyday. Thanks again!

Ashlyn was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I have a senior dog and a super energetic German Shepherd who requires a lot of attention and someone who can handle him with confidence and authority. I was SO impressed by her from the moment she walked in. She managed both of my dogs with so much love and care, perfectly tailored to each of their needs. I normally have a hard time leaving my dogs (as most pet owners do), but I didn’t have a single worry while I was gone. I knew they were in perfect hands. Ashlyn communicated consistently, sent daily recaps so I always knew how everyone was doing, was incredibly respectful of my home, and even took the time to read all the tips I left… and followed every one of them to a T! I will absolutely be using Ashlyn, and ONLY her, for any future care for my boys. THANK YOU!!!

I had never left my dog Sebastian before. I was very apprehensive about contacting a house/dog sitter…but immediately upon meeting Hannah, she put my mind at ease! She is a kind, energetic, trustworthy young lady and we both (Sebastian and I) loved her immediately. Don’t hesitate about having Hannah take care of your fur babies!

FAQs for House Sitting - Versailles

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Versailles on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 442 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Versailles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Versailles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Versailles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Versailles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Versailles. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
