“Marie took amazing care of our two dogs. She was flexible to our needs and theirs. She’s a wonderful communicator and left our home exactly how we left it. We already booked Marie for our next trip.”

“Kayla is the best! Super responsive and flexible. One of our dogs is a big anxious boy (around 70 lbs) and she always knows how to keep him at ease. She is our go to sitter whenever we need one!”

“Jason was a fabulous dog sitter who watched our dog in our home for five days. He was responsive to communications, sent sweet pictures of my pup during their time together and I came home to a house that was much cleaner than I'd left it. I'd definitely recommend him and seek him out next time I go out of town.”

“Sarah was punctual, friendly, and tidy. Milo enjoyed playing with her and going for walks. Milo seemed very comfortable around her. She was able to follow directions and kept with his schedule while we were gone. We will definitely book Sarah again.”

“Brandy is great! She is very reliable and communicative. I have a large dog who can be a lot to handle around other dogs and she does great with him. Brandy also house sat for me when my dog had a minor injury. She was on top of managing his care and reporting on his progress while I was away--and sent lots of great pictures. To boot, I returned to a very clean house. I highly recommend Brandy!”

“We couldn't have been happier with Tricia and her stay with our two dogs and cat while we were away. Our pets fell in love with her immediately, and she took very good care of them! Tricia went above and beyond what we would have asked her to do. As we were headed home we had car trouble and Tricia was amazing and able to stay the extra time. We were extremely lucky to find Tricia, and we will definitely ask her to stay next time!”

“Elizabeth is awesome! She has a great background with animals, so you feel confident that she’ll give them the love and attention they need. Newton and Tucker took to her quickly.”

About: I grew up with animals, so I am comfortable around and am experienced with them. I also frequently dog and cat sit for friends and acquaintances! I work part time, so I have plenty of time to give animals the time and love they need! I also am flexible with schedule. I offer dog walking and services only at client's home, but I am careful, trustworthy, and will follow instructions well. I will accommodate to whatever you and your pet needs!
“Mark was absolutely wonderful with our dogs! So attentive and went above and beyond, especially during a very stressful time for animals…4th of July. He was very communicative, and we always knew what was going on with our pups regularly. It meant so much to us that we could relax on vacation knowing they were well taken care of! Will definitely be working with Mark in the future!”

About: I love dogs and cats. I have had them my whole life! My labrador just passed away so I am looking for some pet interaction! I miss her dearly. I have taken care of both dogs and cats with special needs, behavioral issues, and senior pets. I love taking both on walks, car rides, park trips, etc. whatever they like to do! Currently working a hybrid job so I can work from home if needed. I’m more of a home body so I will have plenty of chill time with your fur babies. I also like going on outdoor adventures like walks and dog parks weather permitting. At home I have a fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood. There is one friendly dog and one solitary but other pet friendly senior cat. Both can be secluded to the upstairs if needed.
“Lynn was great with the boys. It was a happy feeling for us everyday that Simon and Sully were in home and taken care of. Lynn updated us regularly and sent is pictures. She even watered the plants! We could not have been happier.”

“So happy with the amazing quality of pet care that my girls got! Rylan took great care of my babies while we were out of town. ? I will definitely be reaching out again when we go on vacation next!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life! I grew up on a farm and learned my heart is wherever the animals are. Moving to Omaha from my small town, I’ve missed being around animals more than anything. I’m so excited to meet your furry friends and give them all the love. I’m currently a full time sales rep. I’m on the go a lot but that being said majority of my territory is Omaha. I do plan my schedule in advance so if I’m ever going further a day I will be sure to let you know. Weekends I’m available. My apartment has lots of space and want to make sure let’s feel comfortable. I currently dog sit for friends and family so my apartment is dog friendly! We have an amazing dog park and lots of great areas to go on long walks.
“Abby was a complete blessing to watch our pups for the week so we could enjoy some beach time. The pups are well fed, happy and content when we got home and the house looked fabulous too! So glad we chose Abby and Rover! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️💕”

“Jenna did a great job caring for our boys and house! She was very attentive and communicated extremely well. The boys were so happy and content when we returned from our trip! We will definitely contact Jenna for our future dog needs!!”

About: Hello, my name is Amaya! My number one priority with your furry friend is keeping them safe and stress free. Some activities could include mental enrichment and stimulation. There are a few games I play with my dog that I know your pet would love too! All in all, I would like to make the experience fun for me and your friend I have experience at doggy day cares and worked with puppies ranging from teacup to Great Danes. I also have experience grooming and bathing dogs and cats. I believe every pet has their own intrinsic personalities and their own quirks and I would love to get to know your baby. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Thank you! I currently work full time in a warehouse. I work four 10 hour shifts so I get three days off during the week and then I work weekends. I have five years of experience in doggy day cares and grooming for cats as well. I have extensive knowledge in enrichment activities for cats and dogs. I believe that the key to a happy pet is mental enrichment and stimulation. I do potty breaks every 2-3 hours depending on age.
About: I've grown up with always more than one animal in the household, and loving them is second nature. When my family and friends need someone to help take care of the pets, I am always the first option! I have taken care if lots of cats and dogs, but a few fish throughout the years too. I have experience not only with general pet care such as, feeding, walking, playing/enrichment, but also with giving medications. Some dog breeds I have worked with (or lived with) are German Shepards, Yellow Labs, and mutts that are a mix of medium/bigger dogs or small dachshund mixes. And a lot of different cat personalities! The distant and quiet ones who keep to themselves and the ones who need your attention the second you walk through your door! Either way, I have always loved them no matter what, and continue to love them still. I am about to start a part-time job that has me working either from 10-3 or 11-4. I am always willing to wake up early or stay up late because I have the late start time of the work! In my home, my cat never has a missed meal, he has clean and running water 24/7, and a handful of toys available for enrichment! A handheld laser always nearby for sudden play time is anecessity! As for my client's pets, I will always follow instructions step by step and detail by detail, no matter if feeding times includes something silly to get the fur baby to actually eat their food, I will always do it! And I am not the kind of person to just stop in, do what I need to do, and leave. I will make sure the pet is well loved and knows that I am there for them.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Venice walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Venice maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Venice choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Venice. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
