“Sherry took our menagerie of dogs and cats in stride when she arrived and she handled my dog Duncan with ease during the walk. She obviously loves animals and my dog, who is sometimes shy with strangers, immediately liked her and will be happy to see her the next time she comes. I highly recommend her if you need a good caretaker for your pets.”

About: I have owned and taken care of a variety of pets from a young age. I feel comfortable around all types of animals and I understand how to interact with them. I am currently working full time with weekends off. My current work schedule is from 7-3 so I would be available for late afternoon and evening check-ins on week days. I am available on the weekends for any time of day. I will be home full time between June and August and available all day. I have a fenced in yard with lots of space for running and playing. I have two lovable Boston Terriers and two well behaved and socialized cats. We allow all of our animals on the furniture and lots of cuddle time. Our animals have access to water all day and we can feed them according to your schedule or leave food out.
“Meghan is amazing! My 6 year old mini golden doodle never had a babysitter she didn’t know previously, and I was so nervous going out of town and leaving her. Meghan was so responsive and professional- I felt so much more at ease after talking with her! I got photos of their walk together and it made me so happy to see my dog having so much fun!”

About: I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they always feel safe, comfortable and loved. I spend quality time playing with them, giving plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance. Daily walks are a favorite part of my routine, allowing pets to stay active, happy, and relaxed. I also gently reinforce basic training and good manners to provide consistency and positive structure. My goal is to create a calm, loving environment where pets feel at home and owners feel complete peace of mind. Also a very great pet chef if needed. Available for house sitting or dog walking on weekends from Friday afternoon through Monday afternoon. Perfect for worry free weekend getaways! So plan your weekend trip and leave you fur babies with me! I have a fenced in backyard and two dogs of my own that would loved to keep your dogs company! My dogs love playing with balls and taking naps (dog crates if needed).
“Kimberly is so so sweet and makes sure that my two dogs are well taken care of. She always updates me on when she is going over to take care of them, what they did while she was with them, and always provides cute pictures of them! She is very responsive and professional, I would definitely recommend using her!”

“Becky is a trustworthy, professional and dog loving walker. I reached to her because of a review by a friend who had used her services. If you are in the Basye/a Bryce area and need dog walking or other services, call Becky. She provides peace of mind.”
About: I am a husky lover and owner who has spent most of my life taking care of dogs! I am 30 years old and have grown up taking care of beagles as well as pet sitting for family members and neighbors. Now, I currently have two huskies, ages 3 and 1. I enjoy long walks with my pups and lots of play time! On the weekends, I enjoy taking my dogs on long hikes, taking them to the dog park for some play time and even runs on the beach. My huskies are friendly with dogs their size and love making new friends. They also have spent time around cats and although they avoid playing, they do love other furry friends. My energetic attitude and love for animals makes me the best match for the job.
“Rob is awesome and we see it in our dogs reaction when he arrives to walk her. I work from home and unable to exercise her due to my schedule, but Rob is always punctual and considerate while I’m on the phone when he picks up and drops off our 95 lb lapdog. We highly recommend him.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets since my early teen years and have over 15 years of experience pet sitting for friends, family, neighbors, and long-term clients. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, from young puppies to senior dogs in their final years, and I’m comfortable giving medications, including pills and daily injections. For several years, I ran my own pet-sitting business throughout Northern Virginia. After recently moving to the Winchester area, I’m joining Rover to connect with new local families and continue doing something I genuinely love. I’ll do my best to keep your dog happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine while you’re away, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages along the way. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I have a very flexible schedule and am home throughout the day. This allows me to provide consistent attention, including walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins without needing to work around a fixed job schedule. I have a fenced-in side yard/patio, which allows for secure outdoor time and potty breaks. Pets are always supervised when outside to ensure their safety. I also have a friendly mini Goldendoodle who is social and comfortable around other dogs. In addition, I have a shy cat who is dog-friendly and generally keeps to himself.

“Just started with Anna but I am absolutely thrilled with her first couple of visits. She spends lots of quality time with my fur babies and provides terrific updates. I have already booked her for the rest of the month.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Gem – Like Family to Us and Maximus! We feel incredibly lucky to have found Hannah—she’s not just a dog walker, she’s part of our family. Our dog Maximus is truly our baby (especially now that our kids are grown and out of the house), and knowing that Hannah cares for him with the same love and attention we do means the world to us. Hannah has been with us for over three months now, and in that time she’s become someone we fully trust with our most spoiled and beloved family member. She’s reliable, flexible with our crazy schedule, and always greets Maximus with affection and warmth. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. Maximus absolutely adores her! She goes above and beyond to make sure he feels cared for when we’re not home, which gives us such peace of mind. We treasure Hannah and everything she does for our family. If you’re looking for someone who will love your dog like their own, look no further. She’s truly one of a kind.”

“I was nervous having someone come into my home and take my pup on walks while I’m at work but Megan has been so great! My dog Dixie loves her! Thank you Megan for what you do! 😁”

About: I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician available for weekend drop in visits or walks for those long day trips. Also available for cat visits as well most days. Able to administer injectable and oral medications, and lightly groom depending on pet's temperament. I've been working in the veterinary field for 12 years and have been licensed for the last 4. I have two rowdy dogs of my own so I am comfortable with larger active breeds. I have worked specifically with cats the last 10 years and love them as well as understand the shier animals that need calm, gentle handling to warm up. I have two young sons so if you are comfortable with your young puppy getting good socialization, I would be happy to bring them along. Please consider me for your cat sitting or weekend puppy walks and play time!
“Lisette is great with my dogs! We have an older dog that she comes and walks and he loves it. We also just got a puppy and she has been coming over in the middle of the day to take him and our older dog on small walks and it’s been great!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every shape and size since I was born. I was an infant cuddling with our massive doberman! My friends, family, and neighbors always knew they had a reliable pet sitter as long as I was around. I also ran on Harrisonburg Rescue Squad as an EMT for about 2 years, which has taught me excellent hard and soft skills in the case of an emergency. I’m working part time right now, so I’m able to spend as much time as needed with your lovely pooches (or other animals)! I mostly work nights on the weekends, but am able to adapt my schedule, if needed. :) I absolutely respect a given owner’s rules for their pets. In my own home, we raised our pit bull to listen and be intentional, and he is an amazing boy. In my client’s homes, I will treat their animals with the utmost respect, while enforcing the necessary house rules. I can promise you that I will treat your pet(s) like my own and give them the love they deserve!
About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals due to my grandma owning a snake, bearded dragon, and many cats and dogs. I love all kinds of animals and taking care of them is such a high priority. I have full availability. I can provide full time care to your animals. I can come on weekends or even weekdays. 7am until 11pm or even full night stays! I bathe, feed and walk my dog as well as other dogs and some cats depending on how they like water. I have trained animals from puppies to older aged animals.
About: I have taken care of sick elderly dog. Friends and family rely on me to take care of their dogs or cats or other pets. I have had experience with farm animals. I have taken care of my pet rabbit everyday. I’m open to cats or dogs or any other types of pets, even snakes, I actually love snakes. They’re so cute. I’m a freshman in college, and I am taking a path to becoming a veterinarian. Currently I will not be available, but for me school ends on May 10, so after that I will be home for summer and be available 24/7. We only have a pet bunny, so we built her a hutch that has little side doors and a top that opens up and you can reach her. She has a little house inside the hutch where she can sit inside when it’s cold outside, it’s filled with straw.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Vaucluse. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Vaucluse.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vaucluse. On Rover:
- 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
