“Walter G. and his loving family ? were very Wonderful! Our Beagle dog “Wrangler” felt comfortable immediately at their home. Walter and his family was very understanding and caring towards him. Our dog can be very shy sometimes and yet he seemed to really warm up to the family very quickly. Inclusive, one of his little girl’s got so adorably attached, that it was so heart warming to see her shed a couple of tears ☺️ We truly highly recommend Walter G. and his family. He will most certainly be on our top list for boarding and care and we will most certainly be honored to have them take care of our boy again.”
“Heather was great! Kept me informed on how my dog Cody was doing and sent pics of him with her dogs. Cody seemed to love her Lab. Lots of room to run in her fenced in back yard. Will definitely use her again!”

“Once again, Cindy was the best! My dog was happy to see Cindy. She treats my dog like one of the family. She makes sure she’s fed, walked, and sends me pictures and a note. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Cindy is the best!!”

“It was made apparent how experienced she is. She watched our 4 month old puppy for the weekend, and by the photos and videos she sent he was VERY happy!! Responds quickly and great communication! We definitely plan to use her again the future :)”

“Kosmo and Luna had a great time staying with Lori! We did a meet and greet before their stay, which helped Kosmo get comfortable. He has difficulties with introductions, and Lori was very understanding of the space he needed. She sent me photos each day of the pups and they looked so happy! Kosmo and Luna can't wait to come back!”
“Super friendly folks! Highly recommended! I was at Buffalo Gap for a dance retreat. I could’ve taken my pup, but I was grateful to have my time—knowing she was well taken care of! Other dogs were there and they all got along great! Thank you!!!!”

“Rosie just loves staying with Allison so I took my grumpy old man Tumbles too. He had a great time and I didnt worry one bit while they stayed over night with her. Book with her, you won't regret it@”

About: I cared for my family dog for 12 years until she passed, as well as cared for my family and friends furry animals over the years. Hi! Im a new mom, currently have more availability as I’m on leave. Once returned to work, I can be available during lunch time or after 430pm m-f during weekdays. Weekend schedule is flexible and open. I’ll make sure they are safe at all times, and well taken care of. Take them on walks, feed them if needed, and play of course!
“Sarah was a fabulous host with a beautiful fenced in yard and home. She sent photos of Rocky and her kids which were so cute. Great communication throughout the stay and super convenient to wineries, tap rooms and Historic Rosemont Manor. Would highly recommend!”

“We highly recommend Chris and plan on using him again for years to come. This was the first time our 2 year old shih tzu had been away from home but Pepper felt immediately at home. We got daily pictures and Pepper went on lots of fun walks in different parks. Chris had also made a window perch for Pepper so he could also look out the window. Chris works from home and only takes one dog at a time so Pepper had lots of attention. Chris was responsive to our questions and followed our instructions.”

About: Recent retiree has plenty of time to give you peace of mind while caring for pet. Throughout my life, I raised 8 family dogs (Labrador Retriever, Huskies, Weimaraner, Papillons, Corgi, Boykin Spaniel), helped raise 3 grand-pups (Long-haired Dachshund, Goldendoodle, Labradoodle) and pet-sat for several extended-family dogs while their humans were away on vacation. 5 of the 8 family dogs I raised from puppyhood. 6 of the 8 family dogs I brought through basic dog training. During the initial months of my retirement, I would walk our family’s 9 year old Goldendoodle 1-2 miles each morning; however, he unexpectedly succumbed to cancer, recently. My attention is fully available for caring for your pet. At one time, my home had 4 dogs each different in size and personality, but they all got along great! My back yard is large and fenced in. This is the first time in over 30 years my home is without personal pets, although I continue to pet-sit grand-pups and other extended-family dogs. Your pet will be treated with love and affection like my pets!

“Ingrid is one of the best animal sitters we have ever seen. She has such a kind heart and really goes the extra mile to ensure puppy comfort. We are so grateful for her services and will definitely use her again when needed!”
“Abby did a wonderful job watching our dog! We had a meet and greet the week prior that went great, her two dogs are sweet and playful and got along with ours well! I’m not sure our dog wanted to come home she was so happy there!!”

“Huge thanks to Deeksha for pampering our sweet senior pup, Tay! 🐾 Not only did she get top-notch care, but Deeksha made our schedule-juggling a breeze. The daily photo updates were the cherry on top—we loved seeing Tay living her best life. We will be booking with Deeksha again!”

“Emily and Peaches were so great to my little girls! She sent plenty of pictures and I know they had the best time during their stay! We’re so happy to have found her! Thanks again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vaucluse
I always worry about booking Rufus into a new situation as he is a spoiled only dog who has acres to run in and almost never walks on a leash or encounters other dogs. Kalley calmed my fears by sending me a photo early on showing he was calm, followed later by a video showing he could interact with other pets. He slept well when he came home.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
98% of sitters in Vaucluse can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Vaucluse home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Vaucluse.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Vaucluse sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
