“Barbara has a 10+ rating in my book! This was my first time using Rover and she made the process so easy. She is prompt in her responses, professional and so wonderful to my dog. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”

“Alycia did a great job checking on our two excessively shy cats-she went above and beyond to find their hiding spots and made sure they were OK even as they took hide and seek to the extreme. We knew our two brats were well taken care of and could relax and enjoy our vacation.”

“This was my first time using a pet sitter and it couldn’t have gone any better. Danny and Jennifer were wonderful! They’re very communicative and let me know exactly what was going on with my older dog and sent lots of pictures. It really set my mind at ease knowing she was being so well cared for. 10/10 would highly recommend them.”

“Ryan took great care of my dog while I was out of town for a week. She stopped by my house 3 times a day and walked my dog in the evenings. She sent me cute pictures which I appreciated. I was so happy that she was in good hands while I was gone.”

About: I have grown up with dogs of all sizes and breeds. I’ve dog sat for family, friends, and neighbors. I’ve helped train my family’s dogs in the past so if there are any reinforcements or cues necessary on walks I’m more than capable of helping to keep a routine! I’m currently full time graduate student, but I have some free afternoons with plenty of time to walk your pets! I am also flexible to do drop ins for potty breaks and evening feedings. I do not have any pets but I can help care for your pet with walks! If there are specific needs your dog requires such as to be crated after walks I am more than willing to follow any directions for making sure your pet is safe and comfortable!
“10/10 Cynthia is amazing! Our “dogs” were actually two donkeys and not your average pet sitting. She has previous experience with horses so she handled all their needs without missing a beat. We are excited to have someone that can help us with our unique animals when we need to leave town. Looking forward to using Cynthia in the future!”

About: I’m a lifelong cat lover with 12+ years of hands-on experience caring for my own cat, who recently passed away after a wonderful life. While I’m not ready to adopt yet, I’d love to care for yours. I’ve fostered a shelter cat, cared for a friend’s cat for about a year during COVID, and have cat-sat for friends many times. I also have some experience with dogs through friends—walking them together, spending time at dog parks, and playing with them at home. I’m comfortable around dogs of different sizes and personalities. I work from home full-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide attentive care throughout the day. Depending on your pet’s needs, I can easily incorporate pet care into my daily routine and ensure your cat receives consistent attention, companionship, and care. I live in a house with a calm, cat-friendly environment and understand that every cat has its own personality, routine, and comfort level. Whether your cat enjoys playtime and attention or prefers a quiet, predictable space, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for during their stay.
About: I grew up with three big dogs and loved every second of it! I am a middle school teacher looking to watch after your pets until I can afford my own! I am a teacher working a summer job from 12:30-4 most weeks until the school year! I am pretty available throughout the day to walk, feed and love your pets! I have countless years of experience in childcare and babysitting (which is helpful with pets as well). My apartment center has a wonderful dog park and I love to go on walks as well!
“Sandrine did a great job letting our dog out to potty in the mornings and evenings. She was a great communicator and sent a lot of pictures while we were away. Would highly recommend Sandrine!”

“Amy is an outstanding person and pet sitter. My puppy is so happy to have her come by for her visits. She is timely with communication, pleasant, and she takes exceptional care of my pet. I really appreciated her flexibility and attention to detail.”

About: I have always loved pets since I was a child and always had a strong passion for providing comfort and care for animals of all kinds. I am currently in school during the weekdays but I have plenty of time to play with your pets during weekends! I am also available to board your pets from 2-10 pm on a weekday if needed. I will be happy to walk your dog and assist with play, feedings, and anything that your fur baby needs! I also have a cat at home to keep your fur baby company if your pet needs to be boarded.
“Perri is the best! Our experience was so great. She took a lot of care in doing a sitting with our extremely shy and nervous two-year-old pointer mix. She knows dogs, asked the right questions, and we trusted her. Not only that, she’s super friendly and interesting as a person. Would totally recommend.”

About: I love all dogs and cats! I have always grown up with dogs and cats in my home. We had a Great Dane, Huskeys, Akita, and Samoyed while growing up. I had 1 black lab, with my family, but he passed away recently. We had him for 12 years and he was our love!! He was my hiking partner and my shadow/big protector at all times! I know it is hard to work and travel with pets. That is why I want to join Rover to be around your fur babies and be able to help your family, plus earn extra income for my family!! I will take care of them when you are not able!! Your pet will feel loved and safe with me!! During the school year, I am a teacher with Special School District. My hours are 8:30 AM to 4 PM. Depending on where you live, I can let your babies out for a potty break on my lunch break. During the summer, I do not have a full-time job and will be able to stay with them and keep them entertained and loved! I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment. I can take up to 1 small dog in my home and I do have a small dog park as well. I usually come stay in my clients homes though, to keep the pets comfortable in their own environment.
“Nicole had wonderful communication! We will definitely be using her again. She was very caring and Rowdy immediately was wagging his tail when he saw her. We had total peace of mind that Rowdy and our house were in the best care. :) Thank you!”

“Cammie was super sweet to my little dogs which made me feel better leaving them at home!! I felt totally comfortable with her in the house! Would highly recommend her!”

“Susan took such great care of my little fur baby while I was away for the holidays. She kept me updated with her visits and I knew my little Kiwi was in a great, loving hands while I was gone. I highly recommend Susan if you want someone who truly loves dogs and who'll care for them like they're her own. I will be using Susan to car for my fur baby whenever I need to travel.”

Ashley was great!! I got pictures & a report card every check-in. She was very attuned to my senior kitty. She is on some medication that can come with side effects and Ashley made sure to let me know what she was noticing! Definitely will hire again. She has a great attitude & even watered my plant while I was away! Thank you so much, Ashley!!

Sonja was amazing! She was available last minute on a holiday weekend and did great with making me feel comfortable (it was my first time using this service). She also took time to let my cautious dog warm up, my pets were well taken care of! Will definitely recommend her and be using her again! :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
