“Alanna was everything we have been looking for in a sitter. She followed our instructions as given and made sure to leave our home as she received it. Her level of communication was great. She sent pictures and updates daily. From the meeting greet to the actual sitting, Alanna has been nothing but professional, patient and accommodating. We look forward to booking her more in the future.”

“Alaina was great! She took the boys for some walks, one got muddy and she bathed him, and one also got an upset stomach one day in the house. She cleaned it all up and made sure he was good to go. She really did well with my furry kids. I will use her again whenever I am in need of someone to trust with them.”

“Brittany took great care of our two dogs and house. One of our dogs is elderly and requires medications, help getting up/down stairs and Brittany did great with her! She provided us pictures and updates daily and was quick to answer any texts. Would definitely use her again!”
“Kailee I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful care you took of Charlie Brown while we were away. This was the first time we ever left Charlie at home. (Normally he travels with us). Knowing that our dog was so well cared for each and every day allowed us to really relax and not worry about him while we were on vacation. We are forever grateful for the awesome job you provided caring for Charlie Brown Thanks a million”

“Cassie was the best sitter for our first time using Rover! I have 2 large (crazy) dogs and 4 cats and she watched them and our house for 10 days while we went to Europe. Every single day I received tons of pictures and updates about my babies! She took such amazing care of them and I cannot thank her enough 💖 1000/10 would recommend Cassie for watching your fur babies!”

“This was our first time using Rover. Savannah was so awesome with Bailey, Chloe and kitty! She sent me pictures and kept me updated about everything! She stayed at our house for a long weekend. She cleaned the spare bedroom. We will definitely book Savannah again in the future!”

“Ava is not just incredible she’s a genius when it comes to taking care of the babies. She’s so smart and so caring and just simply amazing. Her value is beyond words and you cannot ask for a better person to care for your babies.”

“Reyna was wonderful to work with-great at communicating, kept us updated with pictures during her stay, and took great care of our house and dog. We’ve already booked her again for another trip ☺️”

“AMAZING SITTER!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! REACTIVE EXPERIENCED! FORCE/FEAR FREE!!!!!! My dog is reactive and fearful and she met with me multiple times before the sit as well as was extremely responsive throughout the sit and any issues that popped up she dealt with amazingly. I highly recommend her for anyone who has dogs with any sort of behavioral issues as she is incredibly patient and kind as well as understanding with them and doesn’t push them beyond their boundaries. She’s extremely knowledgeable of dog body language and behavior, which is extremely important to me as someone who works with dogs professionally both on and off Rover. She also asked a lot of questions about my dog and his behavior and how to best interact with him while I’m away. She sent lots of pictures and videos. Despite my boy being temperamental and having tummy issues while I was away I had a fantastic experience and my baby boy was as well taken care of as he could have been. I had so much anxiety leaving him while I went out of state and she made me feel a million times better. She’s also an amazing person and I’m so happy I’ve gotten to know her throughout the last few weeks and I’m sure we will stay connected. I’ve even considered bringing my boy back to the area before I go on long trips in the future after I move hours away just to make sure he is around her because of how much I valued her service this stay!”

“Norah is too sweet. Jasper loved her, she was careful about following all instructions. She also made sure to send us updates and loads of pics. Will be using her again soon! Thank you for taking good care of our baby.”

“Mary was such a great sitter for us! She made sure our pups were very happy and well taken care of! She was attentive to our specific pups needs with high anxiety/energy and was able to play fetch and be there for them! Would highly recommend her for your next booking!”

“We love Brooke! We have booked her multiple times and she is always so great. We had some travel delays and she was willing to stay extra time to account for our delays. She always takes such good care of our pets and they also love her!”

“Aiden did fantastic with our pups' second ever extended stay with a sitter. Aiden was attentive, took great care of our home and pups, and was sure to provide us with frequent updates. Highly recommend!”

“First time using Rover or any dog sitting service and we are very happy. Robert was great with our 3 dogs and respectful of our home. Will definitely use him again in the future.”

“Dawsen took good care of our dog, Meribelle. My dog can’t go to a kennel or anyone else’s house and Dawsen came through with in-home care. Definitely will hire her again! 5 stars!”
“I read a review saying Tianna once stepped in to fix a logistical nightmare and she did the same for us! We had to cancel our original sitter last minute because we didn’t want our dogs kenneled all day. After a quick FaceTime, Tianna totally understood their routine and came right after work to stay with them. She was patient, caring, and kept us updated the whole time. Our dogs felt comfortable right away, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She’s the first person outside of family we’ve trusted to watch them, and we’ll definitely be booking her again!”

Seras watched our two shepherds and our home while we were away and she did an awesome job. She stayed with them whole time and gave updates throughout our trip and she even cleaned up a bit which was so appreciated not coming home to mountains of dog hair. We will definitely be booking with Seras in the future and would recommend her if you’re looking.

Natalie was fantastic!! I cannot say enough about what a great pet sitter she is. This was our first time and we were a little nervous about how our two girls would react to Natalie. When we got home they were calm and relaxed and acted like we had just been out to eat and were now back home. We had been gone since Monday morning and now it is Sunday afternoon. This is the longest we have been gone. When we left them in boarding for 3 days last trip they were literally traumatized when we picked them up. Never again will we board them. Natalie is the best!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Valley Brook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Valley Brook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Valley Brook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
