“Uduak was wonderful! She was communicative with my husband and I, and very patient with my pup who is not comfortable with new people. Uduak followed instructions to a tee, and also used her discernment in caring for Mozzy (even cleaning up an accident he had without us requesting she do so). 10 out of 10 would recommend. We will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Bessie was absolutely amazing with our fur babies! She communicated so well and made us feel super comfortable leaving our animals in her care. Would 100% book again!”

About: I currently work at a veterinary hospital, where caring for animals is part of my daily routine. I have hands-on experience with feeding, administering basic care, monitoring behavior, and handling pets of all temperaments. I also have cats of my own, so I understand the importance of patience, comfort, and routine. I’m confident caring for both dogs and cats, including those that may need extra attention, and I always treat every pet like my own. I work Monday through Friday at a veterinary hospital, so I’m already actively caring for animals throughout the day. I’m available for pet care services in the evenings after work and fully available on weekends. My schedule allows me to provide consistent, reliable care while still giving your pet plenty of attention and time. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. With my experience in a veterinary setting, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress, illness, or unusual behavior. I take time to learn each pet’s routine and needs to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I provide a calm, clean, and secure environment and follow all instructions closely.

About: I have grown up caring for pets my whole life. I had several cats as well as dogs as a child and I learned from a young age to both respect and engage these animals as part of our family in a gentle and loving manner. I believe that taking the time to allow an animal get to know you and accept your energy and presence is most important for quality care. Taking the time to do this allows me to get to know each animal and get a sense of their personality and needs. I have quick reflexes and I am a very active person, so not only will I keep your pet safe, but I will also ensure that they are well-exercised and happy during their outing.
“Ashley was amazing with all three of our pups. Especially the one that is difficult to warm up to. To my surprise she was able to pet, touch and love on her by the end of the visit. We look forward to booking Ashley in the future.”

About: With 15 years of dedicated pet care under my belt, I've honed a deep understanding of both canine and feline needs. From playful puppies to senior sweethearts—and from curious kittens to laid-back lap cats—I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, and personalities. As a dog and cat owner myself, I’ve also supported a pup with aggression issues through his stressful times, giving me valuable experience in patience, awareness, and calm handling. My background includes administering medications, maintaining clean and comfortable litter boxes, and providing specialized care to ensure every pet feels safe, loved, and understood. Trust me to bring expertise and genuine affection to every walk, cuddle, and visit with your furry family members. Pet care seamlessly fits into my daily routine, with availability after my 8-4 job Monday through Friday, and all day on weekends. I'm dedicated to providing consistent, reliable care that complements your schedule and ensures your pets are happy and well-looked after. When caring for pets in their home, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. I follow your specific instructions for feeding, medication, and exercise, ensuring consistency with their regular routine. I also provide plenty of love, attention, and playtime, maintaining open communication with you to keep you updated on your pet's well-being.

“Mary is spectacular! Our dogs are rambunctious and a LOT to deal with. Mary handles them with ease and comfort. They absolutely love when Aunt Mary comes. I've even had her come drop in when I'm home because the animals enjoy her company. She gives each animal attention, even the ones she's not watching (Cat). Highly recommend!!!”

About: Hello! My name is Iyana, and I’m a graduate student at Bowie State University. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and grew up around pets of all kinds. My family taught me how to properly care for animals and read their body language, which has helped me build calm, trusting relationships with them. I began pet sitting in high school while extended family traveled for vacations and work, and I’ve continued ever since. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and birds, and I’m comfortable with dog walking, daily visits, potty breaks, feeding, medication routines, litter care, and maintaining schedules. I also offer overnights, extended stays, and around-the-clock care when needed. I’m attentive, reliable, and truly treat every pet as if they were my own. I look forward to connecting with you and caring for your pet while you’re away! Pet care fits smoothly into my daily and weekly routine. I’m flexible, dependable, and organized, with strong time-management skills, so I’m able to consistently meet pets’ feeding, walking, medication, and check-in schedules. I provide attentive, structured care in both my home and clients’ homes by following each pet’s routine closely. I ensure timely feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and a clean, safe environment while giving pets consistent attention and comfort.
About: Reliable and attentive pet sitter with proven experience providing comfort and care to both dogs and cats. I have been the proud fur mama to my own puff balls: Ghost, a male Cane Corso (May 2020 – April 2025, crossed the rainbow bridge), and Gumbo, a male domestic shorthair tabby cat, currently 7 months old (adopted at 2 months). I have the patience and adaptability to care for all temperaments, including shy, stubborn, anxious, skittish, high-energy, and aggressive pets. My priority is to tailor my care style to meet your pet's needs, ensuring the most enjoyable stay possible and putting both you and your pet at ease. I am willing to facilitate any training or routines you want to maintain for your pet while you’re away, administer medicine, and provide light grooming (hair detangling/combing, baths, teeth brushing, etc.) for an added fee. My cat is free-roaming and very friendly, but I can provide isolated areas for your cat(s) and mine if needed. I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies, whether they stay with me or I drop in for some fun fur auntie time! Pet care is a normal part of the routine, recent long time dog owner (5 years, passed rainbow bridge 04/2025). I work from home 2 days a week and typically home on weekends. Was owner to an adult mastiff/cane corso and so, regular walks, attention, and play are a part of my daily and weekly routine. I have stubborn pup who scales the spectrum between very obedient to going full on sas and temper tantrum, so I am comfortable with all types of temperaments of dogs. If you allow joint play, I will allow it supervised by myself, or if your pup prefers 1:1 time - I will divide crate and play time between my dog and yours separately. Large dogs - will alternate with my dog having one be crated at night and throughout the day outside of scheduled play time, walks, and potty breaks to allow less frustration across both for freedom.and saftey, but I can accommodate dogs who are not crate trained and crate my pup if needed - his crate is like his tiny house - he enjoys it. Small dogs, unless otherwise requested, will take priority for free reign throughout the day/uncrated. I live in a quiet neighborhood, much traffic, and it has quiet short walking trails with trees; I have a small fenced back yard as well for roaming. I do not board rottweilers, huskies, malamutes, or male pit bulls due to my dog's disposition of them, but can do check-ins and 1:1 dog walks with these breeds.
About: I bring a lifelong, genuine love for animals paired with hands on experience. From dogs and cats to rodents and reptiles, I’ve cared for them all with patience, attentiveness, and love. Growing up with animals shaped my natural instinct to understand their needs, personalities, and little quirks, and over the years I’ve continued that care by looking after pets for friends and family throughout my teens. Whether it’s keeping a routine, giving extra cuddles, or making sure even the smallest details are just right, I treat every pet like they’re my own. My goal is always to create a safe, happy, and comforting environment so both pets and their owners can feel completely at ease. I’m currently in college and taking online courses so I’m able to be home most of the day if necessary. I’ll be able to take them out and give them plenty of love and attention throughout the day. I will follow any all instructions by the owner and follow their usual schedule to make sure the pet is comfortable at all times. I’ll make sure to keep the owner’s updated and send them pictures so they know they’re pet is well taken care of!
About: I had a black lab growing up and now I have a 7lb chihuahua named Chloe who is super chill, harmless who keeps to herself. She acts more like a cat. I've dog sat for friends in the past as well as been a dog walker for neighbors. I work from home and have been for years so I'm pretty flexible. I may only leave to run errands but I am usually not gone for long periods of time. I walk my dog 3X a day, we take actual walks. She is getting old and doesn't like to be out much, but I really do enjoy the outdoors. My dog roams free when I'm home. I usually crate her and will crate your dog as well if I step out. I live in a large community with plenty of walking space. I have two kids, 10 and 14 who love dogs as well, but I'm responsible for walking and taking care of the dogs. My son is the one who really likes to play with other dogs because Chloe is not a playful, fetching type of dog. I've used Rover myself a couple of times when I was out of town.
“Karyn was very responsive and kept me updated with my Malibu! I definitely will be booking again. Karyn is super amazing and really cares about what she does!! Thank you Karyn!”

There is grass on the side of my house and plenty of unfenced grass in my townhome community. I work from home almost every day of the week so I will have time to take care of your baby during the weekday. I'm able to get out and walk dogs on the weekends. I have an unfenced yard and a fenced play area in front of my house. I have a friendly fur baby who likes to play and thinks she's the leader of the pack.

Amoy took great care of my cat Penny while I was away for Thanksgiving break. When my return flight was unexpectedly cancelled, she was incredibly flexible with additional last-minute visits, which was a huge relief. Penny is a senior cat with acid reflux issues, and Amoy handled cleaning up after her when she had flare-ups. I also really appreciated that her daughter spent time playing with Penny. She gets lonely when she’s by herself, so the extra attention meant a lot.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
