“I can’t say enough positive things about Jill. She was prompt and so attentive to the needs of our elderly dog. All medications were given and Jill really took the time to allow our dog to acclimate to her on our dog’s own terms. (She is shy around new people). Having Jill take care of Izzy made our getaway stress free. I highly recommend Jill!”
“Alishia is a great neighbor and dog sitter! I highly recommend. She was communicative the whole trip and made sure my dog was fed, had time to potty, and even some cuddles. I felt my dog and home was safe with her visiting when I needed her. Even when my dog fell sick, she went the extra mile to keep me posted and checking on her. I’m glad she is local to Chapel Hill and will be using her services again.”

About: Hi! I’m a high school teacher who teaches culinary arts. At home, I have a golden retriever, Saffron and a Labradoodle, Leo. I live on 2 1/2 acres, one of which is fenced in and perfect for furry friends to run and play! I am a teacher and gone from 7 am to 3:30 pm, but my parents live next door and watch my animals when I am away. Growing up, my brother had a service dog who was part Great Dane and part Black Lab. He became part of the family! I think that’s what started my love for animals. Since college, I’ve had at least one pet. While in Culinary school, I worked long hours. For Christmas, I got my cat, Basil. She was at the door with a “meow” at the end of long days in the kitchen. When I began my career as a culinary teacher, I bought my first house with a back yard and almost immediately added my girls, Sage and Sketch to the household! I work full time as a high school teacher. but live next door to my parents who watch over my pets. They love them as if they were their own! I have an acre, fenced in back yard. My dogs love the country, running and playing in the back yard! They are house dogs, but love the chance to run as much as possible.
About: I have taken care of many dogs since I was a sophomore in high school, graduated in 2019. I volunteered and then became a worker at a groomer near me. Loved my job, and have cared for many animals since. Currently do not have a job, so I have a free schedule and nothing but love to give to the fur babies, including cats of course. I am very respectful to others homes and belongings. I only want to care for the animals, very trustworthy. If staying at my home, I am sure to take them out every hour, hour in a half unless given specific details. They have their free roam, I also have a pretty decent sized screen in back porch that they can run around a little in.

“Cassy has been a great pet sitter. She took good care of my two cats..while I was gone for a week. My female cat is a little peaky with food but Cassy found a way to feed her🙂. She kept my kitties happy.”

“Very good and professional service, Danielle takes time to write a detailed summary of her visits with pictures which is a big plus for us! She took great care of our cat. Highly recommended!”

“Mickayala did a great job of taking care of Kimber for the weekend that I was gone. Leaving a pet behind for a few days is never easy, but Mickayala tool care mine like she was her own, and that's all I could ask for. Definitely would use again!”

I have previously worked in a daycare as well which helped me get a lot of experience in caretaking. I am not a permanent employee anywhere and have a flexible schedule so i’m able to work my plans around the needs of any pet. All work is either online or gig based so I am always available! I have the energy to keep up with hyper dogs but i also love the lazy dogs/ cats who just want me to pet them and hang out around them. whether your pet needs a workout or a nap session, i can keep up with it!
About: I grew up with dogs and I’ve always had dogs in my adult life. I have approx 14 years experience fostering all ages and all breeds of dogs for the animal shelter and various dog rescues. I also provided basic obedience training during their stay with me. I have a lot of experience keeping dogs separated due to reactivity and I can manage rotations safely. Most of the dogs I’ve fostered were bully breeds. I have a lot of personal experience with Boxers and French Bulldogs. My dogs get fed twice a day and get to lounge around on the couch when I’m home! We spend time outside running around the large yard! I prefer to board crate trained, well behaved, dog-friendly dogs. If your dog is young and still working on training, please let me know as I should be able to assist with continued basic obedience practice while boarding. I have a lot of training experience!
“Madison exceeded all expectations! Our regular pet sitter had an unexpected emergency right before we left on a two week trip, the longest we’ve ever been away from our two fur babies. Needless to say we were devastated and left scrambling to find a reliable and trustworthy substitution. Madison did a meet and greet beforehand to explain her qualifications, answered any questions we had, and made sure to thoroughly understand the expectations of what we needed done to ensure peace of mind for us. She provided extensive details for us everyday and sent cute pictures of our animals so we could get a glimpse of how they were faring while we were away. She really takes the time to get to know the animals and it is reflected in her outstanding work ethic how much she truly cares. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone needing a sitter. Thank you Madison for providing excellent care for our babies, you made our vacation that much more enjoyable knowing there was once less thing to worry about back home!”

About: I’ve grown up with and taken care of pets as long as I can remember. I am perfectly fine with taking care of puppies and adults. Hello! I work full time as an MRI Technologist and am able to pet sit part time throughout the week and weekends! I’m free 4 days a week so hopefully I am able to fulfill you and your pets needs in that time. I can relate when it comes to the importance of making sure our pets are happy and safe especially when away from home. Dogs are a humans best friend and I will always treat them as such!

About: I have previously worked as a puppy raiser for GDF for 4 years. I have raised a golden retriever, Danny, from age 8 weeks - 1.5 years old, and he was in training to be a service dog in Florida. He was in Florida for about 8 months. He was eventually "career-changed" to a couch potato, so I got to adopt my perfect boy. I have also raised Tweety, who went on to be a successful breeder for the Guide Dog Foundation. I am so passionate about puppies and I love to love dogs. I graduated from UGA in 2018 and am a real estate agent with a passion for people and pups! I have a fenced in yard and a friendly older golden retriever who loves to meet new friends! We go on hikes at the State Park and also walk around our neighborhood as well

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Unionville. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
